Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You have previously agreed our forward pack appeared to have too many workers and not enough impact.
This decision could mean the Benji/Richo brains trust agree.
I’m convinced it will be a Klemmer/Molo swap deal as although Molo is no superstar and would not have been someone at the top of my wish list, he does offer good impact with his strong carries.
Vicious what's your thoughts on Tofaeona I think he's got some upside .At least he runs hard.

Reckon its the freeing up of another spot, $$$ management with a potential extra season in the offing as a player only option not mutual option, and also alas getting on older, end of playing potential, player off the books in the search for fresh blood.
Yes agree on these scenarios mate it is just the timing that stinks the season is about to start, after I have cooled down you would think a player coming in has some merit let's see what happens.

Agree with timing thought but really all clubs do it- players disposable items if spot needed / better player waiting. Heck, they can even do it up to 30 June if I recall correctly.

Agree.

A couple of months ago I advised on this forum that you could replace Klemmer’s output with someone who cost half as much. Surprisingly, quite a few people disagreed with this. It looks like the club agrees if the rumours are true.

Klemmer is in the same category as Twal and Seyfarth now. Just no power.
No power I'd agree with but a much better defender than Twal and doesn't have the discipline issues of Seyfarth. He's definitely not providing any value for money but for what we have to pay to get rid of him, it won't leave much leftover for anyone better.
I'd also guess that previous rumours that he is another senior player that has issues with Marshall may have something to do with him now being surplus.

Why the F would you want to move Klem on now you have to ask, with the upgrade of Richo and the board you would think smarter decisions around timing would be made so it isn't a distraction before the season even starts, hoping my rant is wrong and a swap or another signing is getting done, it would be so un Richo like to not have something cooking.
Have forgot he let papa walk to the panthers , he also let Bateman go to cowboys , let blore walk to the storm , not sure if it was Richo who let big Joe go to the eels , AND QUESS WHAT, we didn’t bring in one player to replace them

Probably because no other club has been willing to take him. All the other guys (Klem, Papali’i, Bateman etc) have had interest from other clubs.
Thank god this is his last year, done nothing since he made the junior blues team, I remember before his last contract he was whinging how long the club was taking with the new one if Richo was here, he might have been told where to go.

I disagree I think Twal is one of our better defenders

Seems to be a pattern with Isaac Moses clients being moved out of the club. Bateman and Klemmer gone. Tumeth surely has been tapped and is in the last year of his deal anyway. I wonder if there are any implications for Galvin re-signing. It’s very quiet so far. Is Galvin really going to play for ~$400k less this year and next year compared to the upgrade we could/would give him? We are the only club that can give him that money. I suspect Isaac will have him signed elsewhere after 1 November this year and will push to be released early for the 2026 season.

“With Royce, he’s helped me with my back row job. The way he plays in the middle and he’s given me tips about how to defend that back row by connecting with the middle. So he’s definitely helped me a lot and so has Terrell May."

“He’s (Bird) been playing a few different roles at lock, second row and centre, so he gives us a lot of options.”

“Of the younger boys coming through Luke Laulili has been massive at training."

“Heamasi Makasini has also been awesome at training, so I’m expecting them to take their chances this year.”
Luke Laulili has been massive at training? Does that sound like a report of someone that is suffering from multiple concussions?

How funny if this is referring to Stef?

DISGRUNTLED STAR EYES RETURN

Which player switched clubs in 2024 and now realises he made a terrible mistake?

The player - one of the biggest-name signings from last season - isn't happy in his new surroundings and would love nothing better than to return to his old club for 2026.

The former club would take him back in a heartbeat … IF they could find room in the salary cap.

Time will tell.
Not Joseph Manu is it?
