That foursome did not play up to their reputation last year. In fact some of them hardly played. Their losses are being overstated.Way too much moneyball!
This is too much change. It's what people don't get about change, you do it gradually and you don't kill your business doing it.
Loosing Bateman, Klemmer, Paps and Stefano in the one year ruins us. It's like 2022 again, we hit 17th and get outmuscled every game.
Agree but in a comp game not a trial , club could have done a special to kick off a good thing with supporters $ 20 adult , kids under12 free or similar , pie and a coke $ 5 just one night to get things going , but Richo is money hungry and I get it but for $ 45. That’s over the top
Hey TuckEveryone seems happy to be getting rid of these big contracts for these guys.
One thing that most are overlooking though is who is going to mentor and bring the new guys through, providing experience in all things preparation and professionalism off the field?
This off season we have lost 756 games worth of top grade experience, with 37 pre seasons worth of preparation, 15 SOO apperances, 57 Internationals, 35 finals appearances including 7 grand finals and 2 premierships, out of our starting pack.
Our remaining forwards (Api, Twal, May, Hunt, Seyfarth, Pole and Fainu) combined - are a pale comparison to these 4 blokes we have lost in terms of experience. Yes we were shit the past 2 years but I think most would agree that Pole, Seyfarth and Fainu have all improved and that is in no small part due to the influence of the experienced guys in day to day preparation - both at training and on game days, eating correctly, mentally adjusting to professionalism and just in general living within the public eye. These guys are still a work in progress and yes we have brought some experience in with hunt and May, but they only have 130 games between them as well.
Our senior mentors are Api and Twal. Api speaks for himself but Alex is only really experienced in club land prep and having experienced 0 Finals, 0 Origin and a couple of Tests for Lebanon in a world cup, he hasnt got much big game knowledge to impart either. Our coaching staff wont be much help either except probably Heighno and Benji to some degree.
So while yes, its a positive to have all this money and under performing stars off the books, what we have lost off the field could prove very costly indeed. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Yes Klemmer, Bateman, Stef and Paps did NOT play to their potential or Paychecks. That foursome did not play up to their reputation last year. In fact some of them hardly played. Their losses are being overstated.

That’s not what I said.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Soz, I got called out? Aren’t you the one who implied they played high level sport by claiming I hadn’t.
And let’s all remember forumers, if it’s not Tucks way, it’s not right.
Your posts are so shit. Shit profile pic too.
Well the majority f that squad, who were far more patchy than them are still here.Yeah, we came last, again, so not much more to say.
Iam talking about this season, I doubt we get any other forwards , as Richo and benji have said WE are happy with our forwards, they got to be jokingWhich is why we should be happy we’re making moves to improve it. The quality of recruitment has improved remarkably since Richo joined us, fans just need to have faith that that continues.
I’m more commenting on the development of the next gen of Tigers forwards. If this current squad falls apart/leaves without a return to the finals then I’d say it had some influence.Hey Tuck
I don’t know how we will know if you are right or not with your thoughts on this one ?
Running Last for 3 years means no matter what happens this year we either improve or stay the same 🤷♂️
I got laughed at for saying Klem was our forward leader. If we have no adequate replacement I think letting him go is bonkers.Everyone seems happy to be getting rid of these big contracts for these guys.

I think we’ll be in the market for any decent second rower who becomes available, and we’re probably considered not a bad destination.Iam talking about this season, I doubt we get any other forwards , as Richo and benji have said WE are happy with our forwards, they got to be joking
Knights were happy to see him go too, bit of a journey man, maybe not the mentor type.I get the argument of having an experienced head in the forwards room but he just doesn't seem that enthusiastic or hungry. The last thing you want is a high paid player going through the motions as an example to the young ones. I have no idea how he is off the field so I could be wrong about him, but his own field play was just indifferent and declining.
It’s a trial, settle down.Tonight showed Klemmer Isn't required. Twal is a better player than Klemmer and we have Pole, May, Hunt, Bird and Sione Fainu
He passed too.Twal actually made a linebreak tonight. I almost fell on the floor.
Maybe . The same was said about james Tamou as well . At some point the ratio of performance to leadership becomes Lopsided for aging props .It’s a trial, settle down.
Klemmers value would have been evident after the excitement of the season beginning passed by and the grind of the season set in.
plodder had the line wide open ,lolTwal actually made a linebreak tonight. I almost fell on the floor.
