OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Not sure why there is suddenly so much noise, it’s only the first game the new halves have played together.
I don’t think we will see the best out of Galvin if he keeps playing 2nd fiddle. He is the type that craves responsibility, one who genuinely believes they can change outcomes.
Galvin 's enthusiasm reminds me of that old saying - you can't put an old head on young shoulders. The kid needs to be put on a leash

There was 2 points on offer whether its round 1 or round 24. The 3 time wooden spooners and a millionth time finishes at 9th can not afford to let winnable games go, that's why there's so much noise fella. When the final round comes and we are 2 points from making the 8 image the noise that will make.

The season has started, its no longer the trials. Alleged pro footballers and 'time to gel' dont cut the mustard. I can smell the excuses of handicapped melancholy a mile away.

New halves combinations do most definitely take time to gel, doesn't matter how much of a professional you are like any relationship it doesn't become amazing overnight. Daley and Stuart took time patience is a virtue.

The main thing he needs to learn is when to time himself into a game,he does not need to be the "go to man" every set we have or make the "hero play" when he get's the ball.He just needs to blend into the position and let others do their work as well,at the moment he is jarring the attack by trying to do too much.
For sure but he’s still mentally a kid, always smiling and joking. Let’s assess him after 50 first grade games/ 2 years ( if he’s still with us).

Jesus Christ there’s some absolute wrist cutters on here . It is round 1 !!!!!!!
There were people talking up the dragons to be a Smokey for top 4 . And just for belted by the dogs.
There’s 2 clear holes in the roster . Edge forward and centre . We will fix that at some point . But we lost by 2 god damn points !!!!!
Pull your heads in FFS!!!

For the life of me I can't understand why you wouldn't play Luai in a single trial game. I mean, if that's not exactly what they're for I don't know what is.

The halves are (obv.) vital and they do need time to work out how to complement each other; yesterday they were so disjointed it was like having two 5/8ths who didn't realise the other was even playing.

Not sure really what to make of what Galvin's mindset was, but given Marshall is the coach it's concerning he seemed to think he needed to pull off the miracle every time he touched the ball... Gave me flashbacks of "No look pass to the third row" era Marshall.

I think he might just need a little time to get used to Luai, in that he doesn't have to try to do everything himself. Also, someone please tell him to straighten up and stop with the sideways runs. 😳

Luai missed trials.
Was carrying an injury.
Rested.

Assuming he'll get better as the weeks go on, gelling with Galvin.

So we paid Luai $1.2M to play second fiddle? Galvin needs to stay in his lane. He is predictable and a hog. I am kinda pissed off with Luai, he should have taken on the responsibility.

Why are you allowed to whinge about Galvin in the trials but others are not in a game that matters?

it's bizarre coach n captain let him - just keep going , L G looked /showed he can play controlled. in the 2nd trail ,played 1 st game like 1st trial .He aint no 1st grader yet . They all might just b playing the long game ,not like us supporters (i get it} Think @Kaito explained a feasible tin hat theory on it - the kid is learning

Sheens favourite quote from Rd 1 to Round 24 2023.
"Team needs time to gel"

Cant wait to see if Benji goes all this year with "Time to gel" or his go to last year of "hes proud they are having a dig"

So Luai received the ball as our 1st receiver countless times on the 5th tackle and for the vast majority chose to dish it on to Galvin and it’s all Galvin’s fault ?
How about Luai takes on a bit of responsibility for his 1.2 million dollar contract and do something himself on the last play instead of constantly dishing it off to his far younger and less experienced teammate?

Both played like shit.

Luia is only here until better money which may come his way almost every year with the clause in his contract ,remember, lol. its 1 game in and the sky is falling , signs of green shoots n players not performing to the optimum. Its just a vicious circle

I’m merely pointing out for all the people blaming Galvin for poor 5th tackle options, that it was Luai who received the ball as 1st receiver 90% of the time, but instead of taking ownership of the 5th play option, more often than not chose to shovel the ball on to Galvin.
It’s ok to do that occasionally, but not as much as what he did.
Nathan Cleary certainly did not choose to shovel the ball to Luai on the 5th play that often.
