Some of the weirdest takes I've ever read on here have been the over the last week.Funny how so many people can write him off now when so many good judges like Gould, Fittler and Johns are still lauding him.

Only as good as your last game they say. Play shit cop shit from the fans, play like a king and you get treated like a king by the fans. As long as the criticism is about his game then fair play.If he has a great game this week in a win, there’ll be plenty of 180’s on here. Forum-life.
18 months ago we were running with Daine Laurie and Brandon Wakeham in the halves and there seemed to be less chicken little stuff. Give our quality spine a few weeks people. We’re yet to see it.Some of the weirdest takes I've ever read on here have been the over the last week.
100%. He doesn't have the speed to be an elite back and won't attain the size to play in the forwards. He made a name for himself with a few decent performances last year but I don't think he has the tools to be anything but a fair first NRL back.I actually think his body will deprive him of being a star player or even a regular first grader. He is already too slow for the halves/backs imo. From looking at photos of Galvin’s dad, he’s pretty skinny. I doubt Galvin will ever fill out enough to be able to cope with playing lock or second row in the NRL. If I were Galvin I’d be taking the biggest contract I could after 1 November. Hopefully it’s not us.
Smarts are more important than speed in the halves. Galvin will grow into his frame. He’s far from the finished product.100%. I completely agree with you! It's rubbish and it needs to stop!I know people are not going to like this, but the club need to make a call on Galvin pretty quick..
This is not going away and we are going to hear about this every single day for the whole year and that's just not fair on all the other players, the club and us fans.
People will say it's the media and not to worry about it but it's everywhere and it's just putting a downer on the game.
IMO he is nowhere near a million-dollar player and would rather lose him then pay like 1.2mil for a guy who has not proven a thing.
We let him test the market (give him a deadline of like a month) and either he extends with us or signs elsewhere.
IF he signs elsewhere like expected then we either look at a trade with that club to get something out of it or we play him in reserves and give Latu the starting 6 to see if he takes the opportunity. Not a fan of investing in a junior like him so the next team gets the rewards (different if he was a senior player that has proven himself and we didn't have a ready-made replacement).
Our season is going to derail if this is not sorted..
Faster, smarter, team player and only 14 months older!Fletcher Sharpe > Galvin
Kinda sorta reminds me of Liam Fulton100%. He doesn't have the speed to be an elite back and won't attain the size to play in the forwards. He made a name for himself with a few decent performances last year but I don't think he has the tools to be anything but a fair first NRL back.
Doesn't matter which is more important, all the good halves have both.Smarts are more important than speed in the halves. Galvin will grow into his frame. He’s far from the finished product.
Trying to chip over the top of hammer wasnt too smart. He's freakishly fast like Cook was and O'Brien is playing him well through the middle.Faster, smarter, team player and only 14 months older!
Galvin looking for $1mil pa? You've got to be dreaming!
Have to disagree with you there. Munster is not too quick, or Cleary for that matter. Galvin will get to a point where he can run over someone, pass or kick and the defence won’t know which option to look for. He’s 19 and played what 20 games?Doesn't matter which is more important, all the good halves have both.
And it doesn't matter if he grows into his frame, he's big enough for the halves.
Lack of speed, and particularly speed off the mark is what is going to hold him back.
I think it will go away when Fletcher Sharpe, Jamie Humphries etc start playing like stars on small dollars and not asking for millions. He'll look like a goose if he can't match them for ability.I completely agree with you! It's rubbish and it needs to stop!
If those guys play like Galvin last year then they'll be looking for huge contracts too.I think it will go away when Fletcher Sharpe, Jamie Humphries etc start playing like stars on small dollars and not asking for millions. He'll look like a goose if he can't match them for ability.
He's not in demand at all, he's just being talked up by a few influential disrupters. Who wants him? Panthers? No. Storm? No. Sharks? No. Broncos? No. Knights? No. Manly? No, they've got Brooks. Any top 8 side. No.Have to disagree with you there. Munster is not too quick. There’s a reason he’s in high demand.
People forget that the games established halves will all retired or near it in 5-6 years and this new generation will be million dollar players. The trick is backing the right one.If those guys play like Galvin last year then they'll be looking for huge contracts too.
Panthers were very interested at one stage I believe. Happy to leave it mate, we’ll see how his career goes. He's not in demand at all, he's just being talked up by a few influential disrupters. And Munster ain't slow.
LOL, no one wants him now. That's good news, we should retain him cheaply! 😅😅Panthers were very interested at one stage I believe. Happy to leave it mate, we’ll see how his career goes.
You realise Cleary followed a similar path even when Penrith were well placed with Soward, Wallace, TeMaire Martin.
Played a couple of 20s games in 2015 but was finishing school played Aussie school boys before debuting in first grade the following year.
He was in demand at panthers until his old man said no then the scrambling started from Moses and he threw in another client called blaze?Panthers were very interested at one stage I believe. Happy to leave it mate, we’ll see how his career goes.
Win themselves a spoon? If those guys play like Galvin last year then they'll be looking for huge contracts too.
Galvin lifted us off the bottom of the ladder... ohh wait.Win themselves a spoon?
What was so great about him last year?
