Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tigers players that hit the open market November 1 2025:

Api Koroisau, Jack Bird, Justin Olam, Kit Laulilii, Lachlan Galvin, Sione Fainu, Solomone Saukuru, Starford To'a, Tallyn Da Silva, Tony Sukkar, Jarome Luai, Jeral Skelton

Who from this lot do we NEED to resign??
Great name brother ! Welcome to the jungle.
Well Olam decision today, isn’t it ? That’s out of our hands.
I’d say we need to re-sign them all, except maybe Toa unless he really hits his straps( and doesn’t get injured).
And of course who knows what Galvins doing !

Klemmer was on a pretty inflated contract so I understand the benefit in moving him on for the salary cap, but this will really test our depth with experienced forwards. He didn’t provide a lot of impact and had a pretty slow play the ball, but always got through plenty of work, defended well and offered good leadership. It’s a weird one letting him go in my opinion and we’re probably one injury away from having any sort of solid experience and reliability to fall back on. All I can think of is this was a cap decision. His best days are behind him, but he always had a crack so I wish him all the best.

Here’s hoping May is on the way soon and hopefully a quality second rower that’s going to offer more than Seyfarth.

2nd year Syndrome of late it seems.
Like no signings last longer than 2 years.

Be good to finally start doing something with all this cap money everyone keeps talking about.

API , Luai stays , TDS , Skelton , Sione if he goes well , rest after 26 not required and add Tumeth as well

What did you expect him to say? 'We've released Klemmer from his contract to avoid activation of an extension clause should he play 14 games?'
He could have worded it better than that but yes. We didnt see him playing here in 26 so we have worked with him to find a solution.

Been in that Penrith system during the height of their excellence and collected two rings.
If he came back here, he'd be one of the best players in our pack....he'd also be our best centre.
Have always said that and when required to fill in at centre he was our best centre by a fair margin, to the amusement of many on this forum.

Versatile player and cuts a mean lawn to boot. 🤣

Manly look like signing DCE for another year. Crazy how the game is evolving so much that halves are playing till their mid to late 30’s. DCE reminds me a lot of Cam Smith where he could play in a dinner suit. Makes it look so easy.
Still playing well but Manly are still below the top 2. So not sure what their long term plan is because Brooks isn't a half. Not that I care about Manly anyway.

Makes you laugh they still have Garrick goal kicking. He's such a liability it's not funny

I wouldnt sign Api again for 27 onwards. 2 more years with him and TDS will well and truly be ready to go it alone.
Id look at Kit Lauli'ii as he has something. Tough bugger.
TDS has to do something. Maybe he's been told not to but an early kick on the 3rd, more dummy half running, more subtlety around the ruck. I think th coaches have told him to defend well and give quick solid service. That doesn't help us if that's the case.

Its certainly possible isnt it?
I mean Richo has let 4 of our starting pack from last year go - with 3 of them still under contract. Thats a big manouvre.
Yeh, by his own admission he likes to work in the shadows, so every miss will probably go under our radar.

He's clearing the decks for something.... surely.

Though, May in particular has been one hell of a get it seems.

Api needs to extend in my opinion. He offers way too much and TDS is physically not ready yet.

Its a really good get and Im still laughing at it to be honest.
I spoke about his numbers on here last year when we started talking about him as a possible signing. The numbers he put up for us the other night are no flash in the pan. He did it for the Roosters consistently last year, every time they gave him good minutes. There was one game where he played 80 minutes and punched out 210+ meters and 35+ tackles at around 95% and the very next week he got 40 minutes. They didnt appreciate what they had. He is a guy who gets stronger the more he plays and his numbers grow accordingly.
He is an 80 minute prop in the veign of Petro and Price....we are lucky, and the Roosters have made a huge blunder.

As of right now I'd say only Skelton but ideally also Da Silva and Galvin but would depend on costs whilst I lean towards Galvin already has one foot out the door.
Obviously I would like Luai to be retained but my stance is he has a healthy enough contract in front of him already, don't negotiate anything more with him.
Api is a wait to see how he and Da Silva are tracking. Fair chance he is done by the end of his current contract.
I think Bird will be good for us and may earn an extension but wait til he earns it. I doubt there's going to be much competition for his signature.
I think Toa is our best centre and would like to see retained but another that needs to earn an extension and someone that there is surely better available in the market place.
The others I would not be looking to re-sign but again improved form this year may change my mind.
