Its a sad loss. Galvin for all his flaws at the moment is going to be a hell of a player, but I love the decisiveness, with Latu waiting in the wings it had to happen. Can see Galvin going to Penrith...

They said that about Matt Groat and Trent Hodkinson. The guy will not be what he is being made out to be. Seen 500 others in the same position as a teenager.

This is actually pretty disappointing for me. Not so much because it's **** Lachie Galvin**** but more that a 19 year old kid who was a club Jr ( to what ever extent) being offered life changing money says no to a club clearly in a better place then years past.
With richo in charge and a 50/50 win rate it was feeling really good. This just upsets the apple cart yet again. I really hope tigers take the same steps as roosters and don't deal with his slug of a manager any more.
Galvin and his parents have bought into his hype way too much. If he signs for less and then has a horrific injury he is munted.. I obviously 100% am not saying that's what I want to happen.
Anyway I hope the club has a plan and this isn't the first domino to fall that causes a cascade.

It’s already ugly now. Richo was around at the Galvin’s place and senior basically told him that his kid deserves the keys to the club and would be the best franchise player we’ve ever had, while Richardson continued his comparison of the kid to one John Sutton. His future is most certainly in the forwards and apparently this absolute gronk believes he’s worth closer to $2,000,000.

Glad we’re on the front foot and taking his feet from underneath him (which his family planned to do us), not fussed if he’s dropped on his head or from grade, either way works.

PS, I’m sure many won’t agree but these are facts!

I'm going to assume that if your scuttlebutt is true, it has come from Galvin's camp. I wonder who they would happily share that info with. And so quickly.

Honestly I don't think the club is at fault here... he hasn't wanted to commit since day dot even in the pre season all he'd say about his future was that he's contracted till the end of 2026. Sounds like his mind has been made up for a long time.

When Latu is back, play Galvin in lock or back row. In fact, I think AD might work better with Luai.

I get people are saying it’s all about money but apparently he didn’t even look at the offer & id say no club will out bid either. Has there been any rumours that he doesn’t get along with the playing group or coaches? That’s what I’d think straight away considering the statement said ‘weren’t willing to review the offer’

I have a feeling the club has told him they only see him in the forwards either next year or the following and that's what the offer represents, which is why they didn't even review.
The bit I don't get is why we would offer him $1mil...again I believe they did a similar thing with Stefano, offering the market value to save face on bad press, fully aware that the player wasn't going to accept.
