OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Even if we finish top 4 (miraculously), I can't see him reconsidering his decision. It's clearer more than ever he is chasing the big bucks.
Glad we can now put this rubbish to bed once and for all. He was never going to base the next 5 or 6 years of his career around whether we won a few games this year. It was people grasping at straws. It’s been obvious since midway through last year that he wanted out. Now it’s official, we can stop deluding ourselves and move on with life.

Hmm well my opinion of LG just nosedived. I get players come and go and money gets offered etc but we’ve bent over backwards to give the kid a start and keep him sweet and now we’re told they won’t even consider our offer. To be frank we are only owe him what suits the club and if that’s Latu Fainu well LG can kick stones.

I’ll be annoyed if he ends up at Belmore given Gus uses his media gigs to blatantly message Galvin his intentions.

You don't punish Galvin for signing elsewhere- that opens the club up for questions of bias & isn't a good look for the players at the club for future contract deals.

You let Galvin's play determine if he's in 1st grade or not.

If he plays well- you pick him.

If he is outplayed- you pick the guy that outplays him.

It is now up to Galvin as to what grade he plays. I wouldn't even consider releasing him. If he rides the KOE pine, he's not sinking the club's salary cap. He doesn't have that hanging over the club.

It's in his best interest to play well.

But now the leash is short, and there are options if he doesn't perform.
I guess he has what 6-8 weeks to perform or is replaced by a rehabilitating Latu.

is it possible that the club will change it's mind or is it done?
The club made an annoucement saying he was gone and going back from that announcement would have dire consequences for our credibility. The man in the silly hat is no longer with us so i can see zero backtracking. To have and keep credibility as a club is paramount as it will always pay off long term.

Lots of anti- Galvin posts in this thread.

My understanding of this situation is that Tigers wanted him to sign 5 years now or leave at the end of 2027. He chose to leave. Based on the state the club is in, why blame him? He will be in high demand for sure, and forget the high demand, I don't blame any player for not committing long term at the Tigers based on our history.

Tigers are right in asking him to commit now so that they can plan for 2027 and beyond. I feel we should have upgraded him and give him a year or two extension and if he doesn't sign that either, then move him on.
But then you’re just paying extra for a player who was always going to leave and not using the opportunity to develop someone else in the mean time.

I actually don't think he's going to the Dogs.

DCE though...

Dogs are in "Win Now" mode

Disappointing Monday news to hear.

This news will send shockwaves through every other club. They all will be considering him at some capacity, players will be released early. Could be a blessing in disguise, let's see who drops from the contract tree.

Exciting times ahead! I have full faith in our administration and football department to navigate us forward.
According to the release he’s not even interested in negotiating. He’s basically telegraphed he doesn’t believe the club is going anywhere. It’s a giant middle finger to the club and it’s supporters.

If that’s your (Galvin’s) starting position then don’t sign at all. Why join a club you don’t see a future with? Makes you look like an opportunistic arsehole.
You gotta understand, to most players, footy is a business, they're not invested the way fans are

A million different players sign to clubs, and then move after a few years. It's always happened and it always will.

As long as he puts in on the field, I can't be mad at him.

Considering how far we have come over the last 18 months its incredible. Richo has pretty much done everything Galvin 's camp wanted and we have a very up and coming team.

Fans are going to be giving it to him and rightly so. We are good enough to promote you to top grade before any other club and give you the keys to the team basically and this is how you treat your so-called Mates. Bye and don't let the door hit you on the way-out IMO

Yeah I do understand how things work. I’m saying if you’re starting position is you don’t rate the club you’re joining, it opens yourself up to the assessment I made. He’s perfectly entitled to be an arsehole if he so chooses and indeed has. I’m entitled to think he’s a prick.

I can guarantee you his team mates don't think the same, they understand it

You've never left a job for more money or a potential of a higher position? It's just business.

But yes, you can think whatever you like of him lol

It is a myth that the Roosters refuse to deal with Moses!

Politis won't talk to him directly - but if they want one of his clients they deal with the management company Cove Agency via one of Isaac's underlings...

Do you sincerely believe the Roosters are not in contention for Galvin's signature because they refuse to deal with Moses?
No because Sam Walker is a better half.

The real question, outside of the contract deal is: what’s Best for Galvin’s Development? We really need to forget the hype and focus on teaching him to play footy. I personally think that is the key to the contract drama in the background. He should go to where his game will be best developed; anything less than that is short sighted by him, his parents and his manger (who probably doesn’t care about anything but the $).

At this stage he is not much more than a teenager with a lot of potential. So, let’s park the headlines and look at what’s actually best for his development over the next 3-4 years; about the length I think his next contract should be.

Consistent First Grade Minutes
Galvin needs time on the field with an experienced half developing him. Whether it’s with the Tigers or elsewhere, regular game time in a stable role is crucial for building confidence and learning to control a match.

Mentorship from a Veteran Half
Playing alongside an experienced organiser to help him refine his decision-making, game management, and kicking game. He’s got the instincts, but is raw and makes poor decisions. It is time to add structure and polish to his game. The bird in the hand for us is Romey; he will learn so much from him, his energy and his ability to get a team around the park. There are not too many other clubs, with a development focus and room that can match that

Physical Development & Injury Management
He’s still developing physically. A high-performance environment that carefully manages his load while building strength will be vital in avoiding burnout or early injuries. I’m not sure how well equipped we are for that; however, with Latu in the wings we have the ability to rest him at times.

Clear Coaching Philosophy
Galvin’s game suits a team that wants to play fast, eyes-up footy — not one stuck in outdated, rigid systems. The best thing for him is a coach who’ll back his natural flair but also teach him how to control tempo, set up field position, and win ugly when needed. Ring a bell for anyone? Benji has been where he is and knows what he had to change in his game to have a long career in the NRL. Benji is probably the right coach for him – he will let him play footy and teach him how to manage.

Bottom line; whether he stays at Concord or goes elsewhere, the focus should be on long-term growth, not short-term pressure or headlines. My belief is that he is at the right club for his development and I would think he and his parents would be aware of that. I also have no doubt that Benji and Richo will hammer that point home.
So u want the club to continue all of the above and the little p*** still walks away , then we lose latu and his brothers , doesn’t add up to me
