OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Excellent. And you just know he and his daddy are going to be fuming.
I think Benji doing him a massive favour here.

Shielding him from the fan backlash, as well as an embarrassment on field when Luai freezes him out of the game.

He and his team have done himself no favours. The optics are incredibly negative and there really isn't coming back from this, imo.

We made accomodations for Galvin given he was the long term plan. That included impacting fainu and to a lesser extent, doueihi. He's no longer in the long term plans, so why not give Adam and latu the roles? Its not like they arent capable. Adam would have been far better last round than Galvin.

Especially if Naden is back. He was looking great in the trials.

Now is the time to send a message. We need to do this so no one messes with us moving forward. Hold Galvin for next 2 years and let him kick stones. Enough is enough. Richo knows what he is doing.

I think from this point forward we shall refer to Galvin as Veruca, aka Veruca Salt from Wlly Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and his dad seems perfect for the role of Veruca’s sycophant father who will do anything his daughter wants

“I WANT IT NOW!,”
And they both end up down the garbage chute…

I think they'll play him at Leichhardt
Or make him 18th man so he still runs onto the field
That's what I'd do anyway

This.
I’d go further and say that Benji has to demote him in order to assert leadership and to show he has backbone and above all values integrity.

If Galvin remains in the side, it undermines the team and Benji.

It’s not like when Luai was leaving panthers. Luai was a world beater and his team were going for a premiership - which they won.
By our own admission we value the kid at over a million a year and we bench him? Seems like shooting yourself in the foot to me. Hopefully his form improves and we can get a fair value trade.

I blame every player for not committing to Tigers long-term, I don't care why, I don't care how sensible or self-interest it is, I despise most all of them.

I hope he joins another club in 2027 and does his ACL 5 years in a row. There is no empathy and understanding in my rugby league world, there is only Tigers winning that is acceptable.
I would be cool if it happened at the end of 2026.

if im benji im giving luai the green light here, step out of that game manager roll a bit more and play his game, sick of seeing him catering to the golden child

one day I wanna

It’s a tough call. I want the team to win so any % increase of that I’ll take. But , I also want the club to make a stand on stuff like this. Optics are that wests are a doormat. Dropping him would send a signal that those days are “nearly” over. Maybe.

Never heard of him. Sounds expendable. If he's the only other player, then ban Moses from the club. He is toxic.
Phoenix Godinet is one of the best up and coming forwards coming through at any club and is a Wests Tigers Junior, we need him and he has committed long term about two months ago. The focus on Moses is warranted but his dad seems to be playing a much bigger part than anyone.

If it was a vendetta against the Wests Tigers there is no way Phoenix would have re-signed, he is an outstanding prospect.

We value his potential.
He is not close to a million dollar player right now.
If we were a premiership chance then maybe the situation would be different. But right now we have chance to build up other players instead of further investing in Galvin’s potential- which he may or may not only realize somewhere else. Who cares!

If Galvin truly believes he can't reach his potential with a coach who is a golden boot, premiership winning 5/8th AND a 4 time premiership winning 5/8th beside him AND a world class COE to build out his body, he is dumber than a door post.

The Tigers dont usually come out on top, but in this case, I would stack that against any setup in any other club.

So his manager has not done his job if this is the narrative. The evidence is stacked against it, as Geordie said... and now, his client is dealing with serious pubic hatred at 19 years old.

It smells very rotten.
Agreed - can't fault the tigers. They've done everything they can. You can't control what someone thinks all the time.
I think it comes down to the fact that he's not liking the "environment" that has been created and technically that falls under coaching. I don't think it's questioning Benji's knowledge or pedigree. I think its a situation where he's always been the man, was made the man last year and now he's not the man anymore, even though he still has so much control for a 19 year old in a team that has 2 multiple premiership winners. In some ways he was given too much too early - not judging Benji here, he did the right thing but it's created a monster and seems to have fed his ego.
He's had to settle into a new hierarchy and he's not liking it. He's also probably got others telling him that he can be the man somewhere else, not putting a stop to his thinking and telling him to tough it out and work through it.

Lachlan Leftout is going to learn a tough life lesson about biting the hand that feeds you.
I would love to see any other tiger players that have the leech as their manager drop him but I suspect there are contracts in place that would not allow it, then again Issac Moses has never respected contracts. Bula is with Moses but I think he is a trustworthy guy and he would not be interested in the underhanded tactics of Moses.

I desperately hope dropping him this week is true - would be extremely proud of the club for taking a firm stance here.

Will be interesting if he doesn't play first grade consistently again this year or next, how that will impact his value on the open market. $1m+ a season is already paying on potential rather than reality, and I struggle to see other teams committing that for a kid they theoretically can't get in their system until 2027.

It's possible that in his pursuit of the "best development opportunity" he's going to lose ~2 years of experience playing first grade that will dramatically hurt his immediate and future earning potential.

Could have all been avoided if he and his team just kept an open mind!
