OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Im suggesting they made this decision in 23…well before the current upward trend began.
He would have left last year if not for 2 things;
1. We elevated him to first grade. This was a stupid decision that I now understand was likely a bribe.
2. Richo had a cuppa at the family home and told them all to STFU.
I agree with you 100% the decision was made ages ago, just silly imo that Richo is doing what he said he would and made the changes and the club is on the up, yet they are standing by that decision, I'd totally get it if the club was exactly the same mess it was back then. Just real silly imo.

This gives us more bargaining power that he’s on minimum wage.

The reason the club didn’t push for a trade as strongly with the players above was because they prioritised clearing cap space immediately over forcing a trade etc.

Whoever signs Galvin is going to want him asap due to his youth and the 7 position. They’d want him in the system early so they can speed up the transition.

Clubs will offer trades, however if we aren’t comfortable with what’s coming back I’m sure the club will be happy to keep him in reserve grade as our backup half.

Why should we be forced to compensate and move him on, he’s on minimum wage and as a club we benefit having him on standby as a backup until 2027.

He made his bed. He can lay in it.
Exactly.
What happens in the event that Luai is suspended and Latu is injured? We need back up options (which was Latu/bud) and unfortunately that's Galvin now, unless we get another half of similar ability, Galvin stays. Even if he doesn't think he can progress his career under Benji, he can still play reserve grade without poisoning the culture and step up when/if needed, his salary atm dictates his new role. He can idle in reserve grade and still work on his game there and then piss off at the end of next season. Galvin being our backup isn't a sign of WTs punishing him, more that we are moving with a halves pairing that need time to gel (he can't pull the mental health card on those reasons). Galvin has effectively slowed his progress by 18 months or so but he's young enough and has plenty of time to develop under a "better" coach. We certainly do not trade him for a transfer fee.

Basically F around and find out kid

Something tells me he himself is a bit naive. He’s 19. Hardly has the world figured out. He was 14, five years ago. There’s no way given his profile that he isn’t being lead by those around him. And they aren’t doing his image any favours. When the player is being perceived as the villain over the club, someone in the players camp has dropped the ball big time.
He is 19.
Soldiers have joined the army and died in battle at 18.
But we have to feel sorry for this anchor? He OWNS this decision as it was made for him...by people he employees.

I didn’t say he deserves sympathy. Don’t put words in my mouth

We made accomodations for Galvin given he was the long term plan. That included impacting fainu and to a lesser extent, doueihi. He's no longer in the long term plans, so why not give Adam and latu the roles? Its not like they arent capable. Adam would have been far better last round than Galvin.

Especially if Naden is back. He was looking great in the trials.

Now is the time to send a message. We need to do this so no one messes with us moving forward. Hold Galvin for next 2 years and let him kick stones. Enough is enough. Richo knows what he is doing.
The only audience for that message is Bula, who recently switched to Moses ...and will be tempted to follow the same path as Galvin in one years time.$$ situation is a little different,as Bula well paid so incremental $$ from another club are not the same as Galvin($300k to maybe a mill)
If we make a precedent of playing KOE for over a year,so be it.Or pay us a transfer fee
Moses seems intent on destroying this club, which is why Politis punted him

He hasn't... it's the rumours.

But he needs to come out and say he has full faith, no matter if it's a lie so save his own reputation a little bit.
Well as of now that hasn’t happened and the story has been widely circulated. I’m inclined at this stage to think it’s more true than not.

I don’t want to hear that BS, Would piss me off even more, cos it would only be insulting the supporters intelligence. He doesn’t want to be here. He never has wanted to be. Why bother with the charade?

Feel sorry for the bloke, most youngsters have no idea about much at 19, and he might later on come to regret whatever is happening at the moment and also If he has 10000 people in his ear giving him bad advice.
In saying that, hopefully they bench him until he leaves and he doesnt kick a ball for the tigers again.

is there a quote from the manager, Richo or Galvin? I may have missed if there is..
Apart from the club statement, has anything come from Richo, Galvin or the manager? There are journos who are mouth pieces for their respective parties.
Galvin wouldn't be dropped this weekend if it wasn't true.
Guess we will find out in 20 minutes whether it's fact or fiction, quote or no quote.

Doueihi, Bird, Api, Mason, Naden are halves option until Latu returns. From round 11, we can add Kurt Falls & Eiden Ackland if in dire, dire, dire straits with injuries.

FB reporting both Jerome Luai and Api Korisau fronted Benji saying they don't want to play with Galvin
I'm with them !
Watched replays of our last 2 games
Vs Newcastle imo he had a poor game grubbers way too big and passes to no one
Vs Brisbane got the grubber right for our 1st try however noticed when Bula made the break from halfway while others chased as support he remained on halfway line
Don't think he's as good as he thinks he is yet .He's a developing kid

I wonder whether Sheens & Warren McDonnell are still in the family's ear, probably championing a push for him to Manly along with Moses. McDonnell, Lambkin & Steve Hales (all at Manly) all have a close relationship with Galvin from school & juniors. And would love to get something over the Tigers again!

Personally I hope it's either Manly or Penrith so we can work the situation to either get Brian To'o or DCE, Haumole, Koula, Bullemore, Simione Laiafai, Caleb Navale.
We have a half and wingers. We need forwards 1st.
