Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yes he would fit into all of those teams you have mentioned, but I don’t think too many of them would pay him a million dollars per season just yet.
Parramatta have the most cap space to fill, they could and likely would pay him above a million dollars per season.
The more I keep thinking about this:
"Adam O'Brien at the Knights, Shane Flanagan at the Dragons, Anthony Seibold at Manly, Toddy Payten at the Cowboys, and Andrew Webster at the Warriors"

By having a player say a "hey this coach can't do his job" while you manage 4 coaches. You virtually guarantee a regular coaching merry-go-round.

I could see both us and Parramatta being told "it will take 1 million a year to get webster our of NZ, he is very attached to the team". The only positive I see is Galvin will be bitching to the Parra board and not ours.

I’m guessing we are far from the only club interested in KPP, therefore it could be a case of trying to and get this cram done tj get him to us now, or face the risk of not getting him at all.
As I’ve stated previously I’m only 50/50 on whether or not he would be a good signing for us or not and whether or not he would live up to his hefty price tag, but it’s a case of supply and demand, we need an edge back rower and preferably one with a bit of x-factor, he’s virtually the only one available anytime soon that is any chance of being what we need.
Also add to this who would we really want from the Eels and who would they offer in return for releasing Galvin early ?
I think we would just be banging or head against the wall waiting for them to offer anyone decent as part of a possible player swap.
Yea, i have been struggling looking at the Eels going " I want this guy".
I mean there are a few Won't happens:
Isaiah Longi, Junior Paulo...

Kelma Tuilagi, Hopgood, JAC etc. Goodish signings but not worth Galvin

would rather KPP.

Their center pairing is good in Sean Russell and Will Pensini but our center pairing actually seems to have worked this year. I don't want to disrupt that.

It'll be interesting to see how long Richo holds out and how messy Moses tries to make it once he gets the deal he wants for Galvin.

Some forwards like Jack Williams and Hopgood from Parra could work. Them or KPP are still not enough because it is a very clear case of tampering imo.

Yes I’m sure there exists a verbal deal, maybe a couple….and from good clubs.
I don’t think it’s all about money for reasons I mentioned earlier.
Maybe it’s the cultural fit?
Maybe his arrogance has made him unlikeable?
Maybe there’s some jealousy in the group and he gets ignored a bit?
Maybe our preferential treatment of him has made teammates annoyed?
I think he was telling the truth about becoming the best he can be, even though he worded it hideously. He doesn’t trust our club to get him there. However that seems short sighted after seeing how they’re going this year. We have plenty of class and hopefully more to come.

Whatever it is, it won’t paint the club in a good light and that’s the bit that shits me off. Someone or multiples from other clubs are talking crap about WTs. Gus? Ivan? Bennett?
Id say if theres anything thats gunna paint the club in a bad light wed have heard it by now....they had the opportunity earlier in the week with galvouts pissweak presser...they needed a pair of Aces.......they had two 9s

How about this theory on Galvan saying Benji can't help him reach his potential as a half . . . . .
It's possible that this line of bullshit was conceived last year by moses as an easy way out. Let's face it, it held more truth about it during the 23/24 seasons.
Moses would have thought everyone would agree, and him and Galvan would come out smelling like roses. And again . . . this would have been plausible in 24 for sure. No real arguments against it.
But like most narcissists, he didn't have a plan B, because his plan A was devised by a supremely intelligent and wily operator . . . and therefore it never needed a back up.
Yeah possibly our early improvement blindsided them....they wete banking on us being 24 / 23 versions of WTs and could use their card when it suited, however richo forced their hand

Hopgood used as a lock would be very good for us. Ryles is using him more as a utility forward this year - he has played hooker, backrow, prop and lock during games. It’s clear Ryles doesn’t have a forward position plan for him.

After flicking around few forums, it has come to my attention that, why can't WT develop / keep back rowers...
Over the years, here is a sample that I can remember.
McQueen - why..
J Edwards - solid, great D injury prone
Idris - well looked great on paper
D Halatau - great player
C Sironen - started 5/8 grew into his body, solid player
B Sironen - honest, never reach the heights of bro
E Taylor - great clubman, player what we need now
Chee-Kam - honest but not great
C Lawrence - made the transition, solid
Rochow - solid but always injured
Gardner - Solid but never tied down a spot
L Leilua - Good player, but lazy
Peachey - had some good games, but...
Matterson - had a great year, but...
Blore - Never should have let him go!!
Papalli - Never want to be here. Finished 2024 well
Bateman - one last payday, solid in D, nothing in A
Kautoga, Tuilagi 2 ex WT currently starting Para,??
Seyfarth - honest hardworking, but...
Sam Fainu fell into our lap, great kid

Our current junior stocks.
Matamua - tried, tried and never made the grade
Tumeth - never got out of first gear "Aussie S-Boys" rep
Godinet - apparently the holy grail, time will tell.
There is obviously others.
So what are your thoughts...

Hey lads,

Nothing really big or surprising.

From a source that’s pretty close to the situation, if I was a betting man I would say parra are $1.10 for galvin.

Although we have all thought it. It was as good as done.

Not surprising, but as we all know 6 months in football is a long time, who knows how many twists and turns we may have.

An unofficial comment that made me take notice ‘ it can be hard to be the odd one out in a very Polynesian team and vibe’.

No personal opinion here, just passing on info. Take it or leave it 👍
Gotta admit its something thays crossed my mind... and can be an issue.
Ive seen it first hand in the juniors.
Remember scenes from a few years back romey and his big mobile speaker into training and wondered how that went down with other players who maybenwerent into that sorta stuff...id guess itd need to be sorted early if anyone had issues but 4 prems on the trot seem to suggest there wasnt any problems

Hopgood would be really good. Would make selections out of Twal and Sione interesting but this is what you want in a top 4/top 8 side

Broadelow could be anything , he’s just raw . Archie Duncombe is a good player , and there’s others much younger . Also Tony Sukkar is coming on I think . Moses is his manager though .
