OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

This was always going to happen and that's why I said from the start that we need to stop making it an Us vs Him thing.

The courts don't have time for this stupid stuff.

No one has that the time or the money to go through the legal drama. Eventually, Tigers will release him at our terms. The legal matters will take weeks to even see the light of day.

If it's gone legal, it means the media and the Club will stop talking about it which is a win to me.

Galvin is a kid who just wants to play Footy. This is just a ploy to get us to release him earlier and ask for less and Richo is too smart to not see that. He knows Galvin isn't going to sit out and if he does, it's going to hurt him way more that it hurts us.

We are sitting in the box seat paying a guy $300k who commands $1m in the open market.

They all know that the longer this drags out, the less Galvin is worth which is shit for both parties.

Sorry, can't explain that - except maybe I was told wrong info. 😕

Matamua played RMC last round.

What defines a good or great coach ?
In my opinion it’s nothing to do with how good they are from a tactical sense, how many plays they can cone up with, how hard they can make their players train, the main function of a top class coach is not only getting the best out of their players that are performing well, but most importantly understanding, communicating and lifting players that are struggling for confidence, showing and demonstrating care for players that are clearly unhappy.
I’m not convinced Benji deals all that well with unhappy players or player angst, despite saying he does during the recent press conference.
After listening to Wade Graham’s opinion on the topic and speaking with a coach who was previously involved with Wests Tigers, I honestly believe Benji needs a lot of improvement in this regard.

Benji is on a steep learning curve as we all know ….what did Graham say about him ? He wouldn’t have any first hand knowledge of his coaching ability ?

I wasn’t keen on some things last year from Benji …. Things looked to be improving this season though …

There has been a lot of conflict at the WT since Benji and Richo arrived with getting members of the playing group out the door …other teams eg dogs seem to be able to go through these conflicts with a minimum of fuss ( with one notable exception ) …I wonder what the Tigers are doing differently ?

We didn’t contribute to it, we created it.
The club constantly talked him up, fans on here…and I’m going to say 95% of fans on here, fell in line and believed we had a future immortal on the books. He was spoken about as being a superstar well before he got any where near earning that moniker.
Listening to his grievances when we think he has been treated so well is a very important step towards not just understanding the situation and putting together a strategy to combat it, but also an opportunity for self reflection and lessons learned analysis.

The most important question that needs to be answered is why is this kid, who we treated like a mini god, so hell bent on leaving this club? A follow-up is are there others feeling this same way?

Look i don't necessarily disagree with you but i do think we are contributors to his ego not the creators. The media fawned over him every question Luai ever gets asked is how is it playing with Galvin, which he mostly flat bats away. Benji certainly backed him in very heavily which in hindsight he might do things differently.
His parents from the outside looking in are possibly huge contributors as would Moses be.
The last part in bold is probably a very good question, they seem to be a very together group bar Galvin and maybe a few youngsters who haven't got the air time big head has gotten.

💯

Exa
I don't see how drip feeding it to the public sways opinion?

Let's remember Moses said (Im paraphrasing) "don't even bother giving us a contract to review, we aren't looking at it, we are leaving, we don't believe in the direction of coach and club".

So why would richo listen to the greviences when it's been made clear he won't resign?
Exactly.

Dropping this crap today was just another ploy by Issac to try and put pressure on the players not the club , he will be sweating bullets waiting for us to loose tomorrow and Galvin have a great game prior in reserves , it’s just a ploy , put Galvin on sick leave and leave him there , just piss him off away , His man anger is a grub and his Family. That’s mummy and daddy are letting this just get worse , they are pretty low life people I feel , not protecting the kid , I would havebeen in riches face saying he don’t play this week let-this shit blow over but they can’t as they are both neck deep in this and Benji did make a mistake he said they are good people , well mate may be good people but not good parents , lime light hunters through there son

You wouldn’t ask why?
how long do you entertain someone who's intentionally trying to string you along and disrupt the club? They just wanted to pile shit on. What's the point in reasoning with someone who has no reason and said there is no interest to resign?

Weidler also saying that its a workplace that's unsafe to be working in...

Benji pulled Galvin from some wrestling, which if anything is showing he is looking out for his best interest if he didn't think he was up for it physically just yet.

Media and the NRL shits over
any tyre pumping weve done with him. Thats out of our control

We dont know that the tigers dont have the list....it started as 7 and now i read apparently up to 15 depending on who you read or believe...
'If' the list is among the media im sure richo has access also & knows whats in it
You are missing my point. Had he extended them the opportunity to have their say, he could have made counter arguments, concessions, came up with alternate truths….etc.
When he kicked them out of the meeting their next step was always going to be play this in the media.
He had two options, bite his tongue, bide his time and comeback with a fully informed response, or get the shits and dismiss them.
Which do you think works better?

We didn’t contribute to it, we created it.

He's self entitled and has bought into his own hype.

He was upset that 4 time premiership winner Luai came in and created a close bond with benji, so he's jealous.

Some people can't be reasoned with. Some people won't listen to reason or logic. It doesn't matter what you say, they aren't open to it.

The Galvins aren't open to it with the tigers. They made that clear with Richo. There doesn't need to necessarily be a root cause that the tigers need to address. They have said it is it's the coach, and Richo is backing Benji. So end of story.

Cmon guys and girls , honestly who cares? The more we piss on about it, the worse the club looks and gives these knobber journos more click bait and more ammo to “tiger kick”.
Ok then, maybe we should forever more just bend over and take it, like we always have?!?!?!
Who cares what that slime think? We waited for a year after signing Luai, that pin dick can wait as long as we want him to.
Time to make a stand. The assholes can’t win all the time!!

I would have listened to their grievances as if it was their pitch. My job is to retain him and if that can’t happen, it is to protect the organisation. Richo seems to have acted emotionally by shutting down the meeting and then going to the media.

I would have gotten confirmatIon that a deal could never be reached with the Wests Tigers and once confirmed, I would have made it clear to Moses that I had heard he was negotiating illegally with other clubs and that if he didn’t work with me to provide a face saving solution for the WTs, Lachlan would be spending the rest of his contract here and our narrative would be that Moses should be deregistered for his conduct. There were opportunities for leveraged recruitment that could have been worked out had he worked with them. All this stuff could have happened behind closed doors and over the coming months. As long as a deal could be reached ahead of the season close, we would be working together on it. Those avenues are surely closing fast now, if they haven’t already been locked.

This is going to end up a god damned mess now, maybe even going through the courts…unnecessary.
It was going to be a mess either way you look at it.

It's easy to say 'i would have done this" but it doesn't mean sh1t.

With the form his management team has, it was always ending badly, whether it was now or 6 months time.

I'm glad Richo didn't entertain that stupid list of grievances (that could have been kept in house anyway). Richo was there to do business & put $6m on the table not listen to Isaac's bullshit. You get the feeling this one is getting personal - no wonder the big man was considering retiring from adminstration haha
