Where's the salty tears?
AS I understand it they can ask for a relaease which they won't because they have no one chasing themHow’s Matamua in Massey right now ? Tumeth is in Sydney A grade . They’re both top 30
I would have listened to their grievances as if it was their pitch. My job is to retain him and if that can’t happen, it is to protect the organisation. Richo seems to have acted emotionally by shutting down the meeting and then going to the media.@Tucker I know you run a business. What would have you done with that approach from Moses and Galvin’s camp in a big contract situation if your counter party said don’t bother and we’ll list why in a meeting? I know you’ll say listen, but I gather they said don’t bother with any offer and the grievances came after that. We are dealing with a scum bag and I think richo did all he could in an untenable position when he knew what would come after the meeting if he didn’t get on the front foot.
Why not, that’s our answer tj every problem.Solution, stick him in Ron Massey cup , he’s then away from benji and the players , he would have no contact with the nrl side or nsw cup , and even better make him 18th man every week , that will fix the little grub
Two massive egos mist eventually clash when the team keeps losing.Additionally, parra would need to be cautious. What’s going to happen when Galvin doesn’t agree with Moses?
You wouldn’t ask why?I don't see how drip feeding it to the public sways opinion?
Let's remember Moses said (Im paraphrasing) "don't even bother giving us a contract to review, we aren't looking at it, we are leaving, we don't believe in the direction of coach and club".
So why would richo listen to the greviences when it's been made clear he won't resign?
Correct. Hastings was a top half when he was 19 and he never recovered after losing the respect of his teammates. The this has all gone down reminds me of the Manly situation with Hastings.Jackson Hastings is the prime example of this . He was definitely in the top 36 halves in the game early in his career . No one wanted him after what went down at the roosters and manly …
Maybe this has been said but...
Bullying is defined under section 789FD of the Fair Work Amendment Act 2013 (Cth) as when an individual or group of individuals repeatedly behave unreasonably towards a worker and that behaviour creates a risk to health and safety.
As this response was 1. isolated to one incident and 2. not unreasonable per the circumstances (easily argued in a court of law). Then this letter is easily thrown out and seen for what it is, another desperate ploy by a money-grubbing player-manager.
That is our romanticised version of how his career was going to evolve. So let me get this right … Galvin had the opportunity to become a 1-club player & be the local junior who led the club to the promised land (that is what movies are made of). Instead he has set himself up to be the kid who had the world at his feet but was led astray by poor advisors and became one of the most unliked players by fans & players. Sad!
Exactly, it’s why Benji did the presser the other day to get on the front foot. Richo didn’t come down in the last shower, he knew it was when not if with this ploy.I saw this card coming a mile away... Mose/Galvin team are going to use every trick in the book to get their way.. we need to close quarters (team to make no more public comments, especially on social media, all questions should be referred to WT management) and dig our heels in. He's contracted to us till end of 26.
We dont know that the tigers dont have the list....it started as 7 and now i read apparently up to 15 depending on who you read or believe...From what’s been said from both sides now, I believe Richo fcked up in that meeting by shutting down the reading of the grievances list. Had he listened to what they were saying, he could have dealt with them behind closed doors. Now they are going to drip feed them to the public until the weight of opinion turns against the club.
Obvious tactic that I’m surprised Richo failed to identify.
It certainly appears that their side is playing the game a lot smarter than ours are.
@Tucker I agree with most of what you have said. All this could well have happened behind closed doors and left Richo with no choice. That’s my hunch anyway as you hinted at. We invested a lot in this kid and I don’t think Richo blows it up in one meeting unless forced to do so, hence the statement. Otherwise all this crap comes out from Galvin camp narrative - we started front foot when we knew this rubbish was coming . From all reports it’s was already over. Anyway, we are where we are. I doubt courts will be involved as it’s as bad for Lachie as it is us. 99% of disputes are resolved before any court or tribunal, on a commercial basis. save for maybe construction and ‘aggrieved employees’ 😉I would have listened to their grievances as if it was their pitch. My job is to retain him and if that can’t happen, it is to protect the organisation. Richo seems to have acted emotionally by shutting down the meeting and then going to the media.
I would have gotten confirmatIon that a deal could never be reached with the Wests Tigers and once confirmed, I would have made it clear to Moses that I had heard he was negotiating illegally with other clubs and that if he didn’t work with me to provide a face saving solution for the WTs, Lachlan would be spending the rest of his contract here and our narrative would be that Moses should be deregistered for his conduct. There were opportunities for leveraged recruitment that could have been worked out had he worked with them. All this stuff could have happened behind closed doors and over the coming months. As long as a deal could be reached ahead of the season close, we would be working together on it. Those avenues are surely closing fast now, if they haven’t already been locked.
This is going to end up a god damned mess now, maybe even going through the courts…unnecessary.
Just because the Eels made us wait for Stef and gave him 11 minutes over 3 games, doesn’t make it right..Solution, stick him in Ron Massey cup , he’s then away from benji and the players , he would have no contact with the nrl side or nsw cup , and even better make him 18th man every week , that will fix the little grub
We didn’t contribute to it, we created it.They will drip feed them regardless to suit their agenda.
I don't see what else Richo could have done sit there and listen to a bunch of rubbish from a 19yr old. You can't sit there and cop what would likely be insignificant issues.
We've pandered to this kid from the get go, imo that's where we've erred in this situation, we've contributed to his over inflated ego.
Sorry, can't explain that - except maybe I was told wrong info. 😕How’s Matamua in Massey right now ? Tumeth is in Sydney A grade . They’re both top 30
Maybe, it could also have been real to some degree. In hindsight I think you’re right - should have listened, big I think in the moment he just thought it was rubbish and an attempt to play clubs off against each other to create a bidding war.
