OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

People make dumb decisions based on small increments of money.

Galvin would have earned $1m a season & been in a system that is proving can work.

But, for the extra couple of dollars he will move to another club & into a system is not guaranteed to suit.

You see it happen all the time in a work environment.

I'm not saying Galvin is going to fail elsewhere.

But I am saying he's unlikely to be earning $1.5 million a season (I'd say half a million is worth taking the extra money for at that stage) & is risking putting himself into a situation that doesn't work for maybe a 5-10% overall financial increase on what the Tigers offered.
You make a good point, which proves that his leaving is not purely a financial decision.
I think Benji is tracking ok. He seems to now be improving the reputation of players. Clear evidence with Galvin, with his agent signing such a poor contract with Tigers, indicated his low estimate of the young fella.
We need to keep him until end of 26 so he can complete his training.

No
In footy teams there are always different clicks.
There might be a group of 5-10 that are the core and then the rest who break into different clicks.
This can be based on who their friend groups are, who they grew up playing with, whether they are married with kids, whether they are of the same heratige, age... So many different factor.. even if they play video games...
It is completely normal.

They aren't all best buddies, no team ever is.
Whats important is they can rock up to work and all get a long...
Just because player A and player C are part of different clicks and don't have anything to do with each other, it doesn't mean a thing.. as long as they have the common goal to win as a team and can get along to a degree ..

Listen to the most recent Matty johns podcast where they interview Justin horo about his time at manly with the rift between two groups DCE and the Stewart's... That was toxic... The tigers sounds NOTHING like that..

I think people are over analysing this because of the blowback Lachy got when addressing the group... Which was a different situation because it was suggested the coach/playing group wasnt good enough via the media and Lachy probably didn't communicate the right way by having the approach "you do you, I do me".
I agree wit you kon peo people reading too much into this...good post but it really shouldnt need to be explained

I knew there would be some who thought bad of this. What you have said is as logical as it gets, it's a shame you have to say it though. Negative Nancy's looking for any kind of trouble

You either are a team player or you are not. Being in a clique or particular group is irrelevant. I am sure as part of his footballing education, Marshall instills this into all his players.

There will always groups with a team that is human nature. Many years ago there was coaching director from PSV who gave a talk and explained that they players that where superstars that where very quiet and did not really mix within a team environment but where 110% team focused.

Has Galvin actually said he thinks his game would develop better elsewhere? Maybe I have missed it.
Thats I Moses talking to the media on behalf of Galvin, who has bought in btw..or hiis parents anyway
Facts are hes improved pretty well over past 2 years under Benji to the point where we offered him a $Mill per year(which NOBODY will exceed)....
and somehow they both believe Ryles will improve his game better than Benji!
Ridiculous
Moses did a crap deal in the first place with no clauses to escalate $$ based on performance, and has almost certianly signed a new deal with Eels with total disregard to the facts , ethics,or legal compliance
Moses sold Galvin out 2 years ago....and has now sold him out again!!

Gould claim that Galvin and pond scum only brought out the dossier and Benji can’t coach, because tigers released the leaving statement.
But old squashed head Gouldy why did he have a dossier in the first place??
How does that even make sense when the dossier was brought out in the meeting between Richo & Moses (before the Tigers released any sort of statement)

Lots of good stuff, some bad stuff. He is in everything and points happen around him. Some bad last tackle options where no one was organised. Missed a couple of tackles that led to tries, but also made a clutch one-on-one on Hazelton who looked destined to score at 18-18.

Benji will have an interesting decision to make when Latu is fit. I think our attacking shape functions pretty well when Galvin is in the team.
I’m hoping to see Latu play 3 or 4 games straight to see if he has got it and can stay injury fee , last one is a hand so hopeful we get to see him this year , if TDS knocks back our offer to stay I would dump him and have Latu on the bench to swap with Galvin .

Releasing the statement exposed the fact that a 19-year-old had just turned down a near $6m offer over 5 years. Apparently, it was the only offer he could be made but I'm sure there is a healthier bid which will be made (after 1 Nov 25 of course). Richardson brought sunlight to the matter rather than allowing it to fester in the shadows. This makes it uncomfortable for some and this type of unconscionable behaviour needs cease immediately😁.

My point is, I would like to hear GALVIN himself state he thinks he would develop better elsewhere. If true, he should be man enough to do so. I wish someone in the media would ask him.

His avaricious eels- supporting parents ,plus a WT -hater manager are calling the shots..u cant expect a 19 yo kid to rebel against this momentum.
"He just wants to play footy"blah blah
Its a really bad decision for his future based entirely on emotion and rekindling old aggrievances from support groups
But deal is done..we need extract our pound of flesh from what shld ordinarily be a robust contract for 2026, play hard ball, but understanding he probably wont be here and we need to move forward
Hes made his bed..well mum and dad and his agent have(very cosy in there!) ..so just gotta accept it

Been waiting on that for some time it seems...

Considering we bought him injured the year before he got here,
You'd have to think he's been up on blocks the best part of the last 3 years at least
- Not a lot to be hopeful about....

I don't know why people keep saying they want Galvin to confirm when he basically said it

“I just feel that as I move into an important period of my development as a half, that I continue to build my game at a different club.

“Again, I know this might be hard for some people to understand, but I make this decision in the best interests of my career.”

Can people not read between the lines? He isn't going to put out an official statement and say "Benji can't coach"... This is as good as it gets

There’s a few ways to read that and they aren’t all saying Benji can’t coach.
He wants to be a half, we don’t see him as a long term option there. Other clubs do.

Has anyone mentioned a possible exchange for that beast Parramatta has? Tuivaiti? I think he could be a good addition to the 17.

They're losing Galvin next year anyway by the looks of it, and due to the small amount of cap he'd free up ($350k by all accounts) it might be that they can't fit a say, $800k player in.

I'd say for '26, yeh you can have him, but not unless we get Tuivaiti.

There isn't alot with all the youngsters. No Latu, very little of TDS, Luke L, Kit L. So I reckon the younger ones have their own little group, as do the Habibi's and so do the gangster types.....its natural for there to be groups within the group.
Who are the gangsters? 😂

Seems like a similar player to Royce Hunt. Hard to carry two players like that on a bench.

He’s also managed by Isaac Moses unfortunately.

I wasn't aware he had said anything. Thanks for the clarification. (No need for bold print. Settle down, take it easy)
