Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Everyone who’s ever coached knows it’s way harder than playing. I wouldn’t think too much about that comment. It was tongue in cheek m, but kind of true. Nothing a coach would disagree with.

I don’t know if anyone saw Fonua spoke post game interview where he credited Benji for his form, saying he struggles with poor self confidence (very common for players in a team for a long time) and said Benji has given him real self belief.

Galvin would have to be the only unhappy player in the squad.
I saw Fonua's interview. Benji has certainly given him what he needs to become a better player.

H

He would be a good 18th man.
What’s your thoughts TS, what signings has Richo got up his sleeve ?

I think KPP might be one …not that I’m as high on him as others …Taylan May … still need two more forwards at least …I got no ideas there …and you?

What we can all agree on is that WTs due to excellent planning have money to spend and there are quality players available or clubs with salary cap constraints which need to find a new home for some of their squad. Players like Adam Reynolds who Richardson would have a great relationship with would be an excellent buy for WTs.

The difference from last year to this has been pretty amazing hasn't it? He seems to have grown both physically and as a player.
Barring the odd lapse , he’s a much better defender. I put that down to the lead in work ethic of Romey and May

Anyone who thinks the galvin situation is over needs to have a look at his body language towards luai. Post-match is very timid in the team song and to the side. Very unusual. On the kayo broadcast, if you go to the post match galvin leaves as luai enters the room very swiftly, and is with da silva in the sheds straight away. It is quite worrying and will continue to drag on as the season unfolds. If you want evidence go to about the 2:12 hour mark on the kayo broadcast. It is also concerning that galvin is barely seen with the rest of the team in TMay's vlogs, and is only spotted with 1 or 2 guys mainly his jersey flegg mates like da silva and luke lauli'i. Part of me feels sorry for him being a young kid, but he's no doubt brought it on himself
Guess you missed the two of them hug when they combined for a try or at the end of the game; can’t remember specifically.
Also on your note, I noticed Galvin followed Da Silva to the other part of the sheds. I guess you also feel Da Silva left because Api walked into the room.

Do you not think that they believe the cameras are on them as players, but outside of the footy it's different? In terrell's vlogs and post match cameras it paints a very different picture
No but I think he genuinely enjoys the footy moments with his teammates on field but off field he has a bit of a withdrawn personality and probably doesn’t gell socially. He is leaving in a year and a bits time (at this stage) does it really matter if he isn’t buddy buddy, that could come down to his personality type not the company.

I think it was for Flanno he was talking about it the other week about having to many games

And the guy from Manly was crying about it
At least it was the winning coach saying it. Not making excuses for the loss like Siebold did.
In reality though.
The Monday game probably affects the team the most, where come Tuesday the other teams playing next round earlier in the week would of had an extra couple of runs to get the ideal team for the next round we just finished the match and had a day of recovery.
Actually we’ve played a lot of Sunday / late in the round games this year, that’s gota impact our prep a bit.

If I know I am heading out of a workplace I probably stop making the extra efforts on the social side of things too. As long as he performs on the field there is no issue. Spare me the gossiping soap opera and body language analyses.

Hearing from Luai I actually think Benji is managing this beautifully. We don't need resolutions and sunshine off the field, forcing them to get together and figure things out could derail the season. We need to win, which we are (5 from 6 with this spine).

Our first game was April 21st against Parra then we played the Sharks on the 27th, then Dragons on Saturday. We played 3 really high quality fast tempoed games In 13 days. Understandably with the nature of the comp being full time and professional the guys should be able to handle it with all the physios, dieticians and recovery. But still it would explain why on Saturday we were trying to play a bit of touch footy. Mentally must be tough to keep switched on if Ur not used to it like us, the game against parra was game of the year then it was topped by the game against the sharks. So I can understand the guys being a bit flat on Saturday night. We just need to learn to deal with it. In prior years, we prob don't win one of those games.

Just watched the Knights/Souths game; and in particular the effort by KPP. Because of the comments on here.
Would have been the worst forward in the Knights pack!
Why people on here want him as part of a swap/package deal is beyond me?
What did I see? Arm grabs, no tackle breaks, no side step and not fast off the mark, lazy efforts in defence unless he got in the way of the attackers, just ran as a decoy in attack.
Please, don't let this guy be our next big signing. So many better backrowers out there.
But I do have faith in Richo's and Benji's judgment of talent.
If I was targeting anyone there it would be the second rower on the other side, hopefully Dylan Lucas can play both sides if required.
