Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Our first game was April 21st against Parra then we played the Sharks on the 27th, then Dragons on Saturday. We played 3 really high quality fast tempoed games In 13 days. Understandably with the nature of the comp being full time and professional the guys should be able to handle it with all the physios, dieticians and recovery. But still it would explain why on Saturday we were trying to play a bit of touch footy. Mentally must be tough to keep switched on if Ur not used to it like us, the game against parra was game of the year then it was topped by the game against the sharks. So I can understand the guys being a bit flat on Saturday night. We just need to learn to deal with it. In prior years, we prob don't win one of those games.
First game? What season are you talking about?

Nevermind…
2 Sunday games in a row now before the first bye so a chance for a bit of consistency and recovery.

Looks like Jock Madden is on the move to ESL Broncos squeezing him out

His last game for the Bronx was round 18 last year and injured his hammy

Contract expires end of 2026 possibly releasing him early

If I was targeting anyone there it would be the second rower on the other side, hopefully Dylan Lucas can play both sides if required.
He was outstanding compared to KPP. 1st into tackles and did a great job.
Seyfarth and Fainu wont loose any sleep over KPP; should he come to WT, that's for sure, IMO.

If we Richo and Benji can get the 3 right players we can really have a squad capable of competing for finals and top 4.

Its virtually a top 20 at the moment, pretty light in the forwards if there is injuries and skinny in the backs. Plus may need a half if Galvin goes next year. Latu really needs to play consistent footy

One day he's Muslim the next he's Christian Lol
Chronically troubled guys are usually chronic trouble to manage,,,until they reach a wake up call that theyre just pissing away $$$$ in pursuit of "lifesytle"
Some get it in their 20s...some get it in their 30s..some never get it`,like Todd Carney who went from Raiders to Cronulla to obscurity about a decade ago

Carney has actually turned his life around mate

Coaching should take care of this, but theres also a little body science to consider with Sammy and Seyfarth. Both are built tall and a little lighter than other back rowers out there ie Fafita, Carrigan, Yeo ect. Maybe some angles like we saw from the Shire derricks last week,
Nikora runs some great inside and reverse lines off the 6, works great for them. Just not at Leichhardt haha.
Some players have just got it, hitting a hole at speed
You mentioned Nikora he is one of the best hole running 2nd rowers in the comp.
Luai had Sorensen at Penrith who also could hit a hole at speed.
I know Sorensen was a speedy back growing up in the juniors at Cronulla and I suspect Nikora would have been the same.
Unfortunately our 2nd rowers look like they have played all their life putting their head in a scrum just taking hit up after hit up.
We need to recruit players that can do the job because at the moment we don’t have that type of player in our roster.
