Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think richo should look at rugby 7s winger, fullback and/or centre Jayden Blake, seems these rugby 7s players are classy and he looks strong and fit showing lots of effort consistently with lots of wraps at a pretty young age (22). Off contract at end of this season but only downside is I don’t he has played league before.

What's your take on the 5/8 from the Roosters Demps, you're one of the keen eyes on the forum, that young 5/8 Smith. He's able to negotiate so they can free up money, I'd chase him so we can use him to get Latu right as a fill in if Latu gets injured. I'd give Latu 2 more years to get his body right after that the hope ends. If Latu can't get his body sorted, I'd keep Smith as a 5/8. If he can and can get consistent, I'd keep Smith as our utility. 14 on the bench, he seems to be able to read the game, but anyone can look great in a team with a solid pack.
Good player.
Probably deserves a starting chance somewhere.

They've got some options at the roosters.
Chad, Walker, the kid Hugo and likely DCE joining.

You'd think DCE will partner Walker.
Chad will be shown the door and Hugo will stay as back up and be mentored.

Sandon the odd man out and will likely get signed up elsewhere. I doubt coming to us would be best for his career. Interesting move for him to make. Don't think he'd look out of place partnering Katoa at the dolphins.

I’m really hoping the club aren’t thinking about releasing Galvin early for KPP this year.

We get KPP next year regardless, whereas any club wanting Galvin would have to wait until 2027.

Dogs or Eels.

Curran/Kikau or Hopgood.

Take it or leave it.
How would a Galvin release for KPP work exactly?

Bring back Martin Taupau for rest of season? Been released from Broncos.
Nearly kill someone while being on drugs after causing a car accident, go and say your coach is crap on a podcast, hire a forward another club fires after getting blind and nearly belting a guy to death in front of his family. That's all good. But liking a social media post is where the Broncos draw a line in the sand, that's the hill they're willing to die on. That right there is exactly everything wrong with the joint, special treatment for special players. Don't get me wrong though I'm of the camp if they've done they're time they're all good to play as long as they're on a short leash and behave I'm all good with it, but punting Tapou over liking Taylor's post is a joke. Just hope it doesn't help they're salary cap too much I'm hoping a 2nd rower falls out of their tree if Richo shakes it hard enough.

Reckon if we could jag him he could either play 5/8 permanently if Latu can't get his body right. Or as our bench utility if Latu comes good. Great back up for Luai as well. We could just shift Latu to 7 and Smith to 6 if need be and the disturbance to the squad would be minimal. That's if Luai isn't shifted to 6 once we get Latu in.

KPP isn't a try scorer but I don't think we exactly need that on the right edge - To'a and Turuva can create plenty

Give KPP early footy and let him attack the line, have Bula following him and it will work well.

Seyfarth just doesn't have the attacking skill or power to be a starting NRL player
I'm not too keen on paying big money for the guy but as many others have pointed out, he is not being utilised to his full potential.

In the times I have seen him play he doesn't seem to get much ball and most of his runs appear to be mostly decoy runs.

That's fine because you are always going to be wary of the possibility of a big boy like him getting the ball and coming at you, so nothing wrong with really keeping the opposition on their toes by mixing it up a bit more.

I feel the same. I would normally feel sorry for the guy but seriously how many times does this need to happen before he realises he is the problem. I don't feel sorry for him at all now.
History will show they have backed the players ahead of coaches long before Maguire. They have had one successful coach and they even sacked him - even though they have had stacked rosters that most clubs envy.
Henjak Griffin Bennett Siebold Walters all sacked on the back of underwhelming results.
They resolve nothing at the club by sacking another coach for making the players work hard. It's one club where the players have no excuse - unless you keep giving it to them
Everyone knew Maguires rep before he got there you don't have to be psychic to work out that the playing group have an easy target.

I've suggested Jaiyden Hunt.

I'd take Marty Tapau back for the season to play essentially the same role- depth, decent squad rotation. We (Tigers) just lack 1st grade ready depth & someone like Tapau can offer experience without being a liability.

Just don't rely on him being the reason we win a premiership.

But there is a role for a player like him.
