LIVE GAME Round 13 v Cowboys

Live Game Discussion
I was gonna say that those early years were rough, but when you only make the finals 3 times in 25 years, the majority of them are anyway. I’ve been on this form for what feels like a life time, yet in my entire tenure, we’ve made the finals once. Inconceivable really.

I’d run with this next weekend.

8. Sione
9. Api
10. Samuela
11. Sukkar
12. Bird
13. May

Hunt, Kit and Seyfarth off the bench. Seyfarth a short stint with a license to play angry.
Can’t agree on Bird or Samuela but see you’ve got Sione and Sukkar in which I like. We don’t have a lot of forward depth.

I hear ya mate.

Yet there are folks on here expecting us to run like a prime 90s broncos - when we have been a complete basket case of a club for years.

Maybe Gould is right. Wests Tigers have the best fans

Bird is only in my side through lack of options and a hope he could still find some old form.

Samuela I want to get him going, maybe he fires up a bit in the middle.

Or off the bench coz he’s making no impact this year. Every time his brother comes on there is notable impact. Try something different .

He said three penalties in a row in the red zone is an automatic sin bin …. And they were all committed by Luai … there is no requirement for a warning …. You can say it’s harsh but I think this is more worthy of a sinbin then AD where there was some doubt over whether Bateman was genuinely impeded or was diving …I think the penalty in that case would have been sufficient IMO

Luai has got to be better and not push the envelope so hard …that put them in a massive hole from the start
I am certain I could run the tapes on our old matches and find hundreds of instances where our opposition gave away runs of consecutive penalties, all over the place and particularly in the red zone, without a sin bin.

Pretty shocked Luai got done for essentially working the ruck. I went back and replayed the series just to check exactly what the offences were, but in that particular set he only made 2 tackles: got involved in a push with Bateman at the ruck (including Bateman pushing him and Luai pushing back), resulting in a 6-again, then he made the next tackle and got his arm stuck, which was when he was binned.

Ref did state ,that's 3 consecutive infringements in 3consecutive sets from you Jerome its a send off . Amillion $ player should know the fine print ,as should all NRL players to manipulate those rules to the teams advantage , not get pinged for it
I'm not saying that's not the correct interpretation, but I've never ever heard of such a thing and I watch a lot of footy every week.

Is this a thing now like the infamous Cowboys game where Tigers are the only team in history to be penalised for an escort off a full-time kickoff, or poor old Bryce Gibbs being the only player ever to be suspended for 3 weeks sliding in with the knees in an attempt to affect a try-scoring tackle.

So there's this rule, never heard of it before, and gosh you'll never see it policed again.

That’s not a rule dude ! No disrespect … but that’s not how the game is normally refereed mate . It just isn’t !
He could have easily had , called time off and said next one is in the bin. But he chose the most extreme route . Which isn’t in the spirit of the game . I’m not debating whether they were penalties . They were . But I don’t think anyone reasonable saw the ref go straight to send offs.
He definitely skipped the middle step . And I’ve never heard of 3 penalties in a row is the bin … spare me that’s nonsense . Him and his mate Klein are notorious for making shit up on the spot .
If the ref doesn’t want a behaviour to continue he is obliged to warn the players .
It’s not high school detention mate . They’re there to keep the game even and fair . That’s litterally thier role . It’s not to not pick penalties .
The referees seem to have to totally forgotten thier remit .
Sutton is a shit ref though, has very little FEEL for the match. Exact opposite of a guy like Bill Harrigan who was loose with decisions but could feel the match coursing through his veins.

Dude. I can help out here. The blatant tackle on STuruva without the ball in a scoring position in the first 5 minutes. Depending on what ref was on their roster that week - that could of been a penalty try. I feel for Payten. At least he shows some emotion. Can you imagine - the same game. With a real ref. Neutral. It would be a different game
