Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The great Russell "Spider" "Flight" Mullins has passed away.
A sad day for any Magpie that had the pleasure of sitting on the Lidcombe hill watching Russell fly through the air to take a short kick off and score the winning try.

R.I.P Russell.
Thanks for that. Sad news. Yep I sure remember him in the 70's Magpies- his brother Bill was also a damn good winger for Easts.

Seyfarth needed to be dropped to the bench. He’s a liability on the edge with his defensive reads and lack of lateral movement.

Much better off the bench. Bird in the backrow does seem light, however this is the week to do it as the opposing backrower will be Ben Trobojevic who is also a light weight backrower.

Is there a reason why you post this in the signings thread every week when we have a team announcement thread?

Another take on it.

Galvin leaves the club..

Everyone says how poorly the tigers are run and that Gus outsmarted us and got his man.

Then Latu Fainu gets his chance and shows us in just 30 mins at 7 (against the form team of the completion) that he is head and shoulders above Galvin...

And Gus was sitting at home last night wishing he had Latu over Galvin.
Adel Hage said when the Galvin drama was happening, let him go. Whatever we do we can't lose Latu. He said if he stays fit in 10 years it's not the Cleary Munster rivalry. It's the Latu Katoa rivalry. He said he's that good🤞

You don’t like Mase ?
I guarantee you he won’t be the reason why we don’t win at Brookvale.

I have said many times I like him … but not as an NRL player right now …he is 19 and shouldn’t be at this level yet …they aren’t doing him any favours with this level of scrutiny and it exposes him to be targeted by the opposition like the past 2 weeks

FB hey ? Did he learn how to get under and catch a bomb in the past month , because he couldn’t do it before ?

Thanks champion @Ron Brodrick's Spirit for this sad news.
Remember those fab/fun Lidcombe days, Mullins scoring heaps out on the wing, flying high to take marks, dependable and exciting to watch.
RIP Russell.
