Luke Laulilii #290

Those highlights are another reminder that Reuben, like Kit, for some reason seems to have been written off.
I know he's not regular first grade standard, but I would've liked him on the bench the last couple of weeks

Reuben has always been decent with his running game, but suspect in defence.
Now in his late 20’s he seems better suited to the middle where his lateral defence is no out under so much pressure.
Anyway this topic is about Luke Laulilli, he’s going well and is young enough to have plenty of improvement left in him.
I’ve stated many times that I’m concerned about his lack of height and size for a modern day NRL winger, he could be much better suited at fullback where he played most of his junior rep career.

Luke had a tough day on defense today, but I do believe he is looking better and stronger each game.
I agree.
I was very unsure if he could be a genuine NRL players as he doesn’t have the tall, athletic physique that most good outside backs possess these days.
However his explosive speed off the mark and fearless ball running is very impressive.
Like a lot of young players he needs more time working on his defence and playing as a centre more regularly in NSW Cup should help building his defence up to an acceptable NRL standard.

100%. After tonight I think I'm a fan of his, even considering the defensive disaster that occurred.

I'm a fan, wasn't early on based on his stature. But he's fearless and a strong runner.

Interested in how he develops. Not quite ready for the week to week grind of first grade just yet.

Absolutely not a centre, that made him look much further from grade than he really is.

Luke is an elite 19yo fullback who can play wing & centre if required. He is not yet an elite fullback at NRL level. Hopefully he is given the opportunity to build reps at fullback in NSW Cup so he can continue to develop his game.

With Luai coming back, I expect Luke will move back to KoE. Given that the KoE has experienced some success over the past few weeks, it may worthwhile keeping him at centre to help him learn the defensive aspects of the position.

I think people are a bit harsh on Luke. Playing out of position against arguably the most dangerous attacking centre in the game.
I think this is the take. Centre is one of the hardest defensive positions in terms of positioning and decision making.

He hasn’t played much centre as far as I’m aware so there’s naturally going to be some bumps as he learns on the job.

I think wing is just position and I like his carriers. Hopefully he develops into a good first grader for us.

If u cant tackle, doesnt matter what u look like....yr just not ready for 1st grade
Same as Mason
Feel they will both be decent prospects medium term..but theyre being rushed

He left of his own accord - he wasn’t punted.
And is still married to his wife…

Where do you people come up with this stuff?
Beau was the sort of bloke who was never going to play SOO,but wld hold his own and was a gr8 guy o hav around for team morale
These ppl are so important to the culture, and the funster environment u need in any business..providing youve got enough stars to get the job done

Beau was a decent winger. Good finisher, safe enough under the ball, and generally stayed on his man. He probably made it to a higher level than expected. But what I liked about Beau was he always seemed a team first player, seemed to love the Tigers and I reckon him getting the punt was one of the contributing factors to start our decade long train wreck. Not so much on the field but his passion for playing his best and having fun. He was well liked in the team, and you could tell it hurt him to leave. Its a shame he couldn’t have seen his days out here, because he would be as loyal as my dog.
His first wife may not agree.

And Luke Lewis knocked him out at training because of Beau's OCD he got sick of him
