Jahream Bula #269

You are missing the point.
Some people are stressing thinking the sky will fall down if we do not take up the 900k contract for Bula.
The point I am making is the games elite fullbacks are only on similar or fractionally more money, therefore we could potentially recruit someone in that class for 2027/2028 if we decide not to take up Bula’s 900k per season contract. Add to that his dodgy manager who I am near certain will be pushing for us to pay more than 900k for him to remain with us.
there’s an option in his favour that we pay him $800k so if he wants to stay we don’t really have a choice

You know he was already here in 26 and the option was for 27 right?
So if we don’t pay him what Isaac demands we pay him which will no doubt include an upgrade for 2026, Isaac will threaten to have Bula signed elsewhere for 2027.
Have we not already seen this same playbook many times over ?

My mates kid plays Jersey Flegg for Saints and Moses is his agent. He has nothing but good things to say about him and the reason he has so many under management is he does exactly as the player demands. He gives good advice, but leaves all decisions up to the player, then does his best to achieve the desired outcome. Seems like all the rubbish he's known for might be more player initiated than agent.
Moses has obviously been proven to be unethical in his dealings & has been know to exert undue influence on young naive players - but anything has to be agreed by the player regardless.

Most of the moves are player initiated though - like Mitch - Teddy - Suuaali etc who end up where they wanted to be - while their incumbent club gets played...
I am not naive enough to believe in fairytales and honest Issac.
Moses did not do the deal FFS! Are you naive enough to not grasp that the ratchet clause is for 2027 which is 18 months away - and there is no prior exit clause!

You lost - go away until your conspiracy fantasy plays out!

Bula is an independent mature & honourable married young man who has set down roots at the club - Galvin is an immature 19 year old kid living at home with dinner cooked by Mummy - who flitted between junior teams & who still has sleeps overs while believing his own hype!

Chalk and cheese!

Very entertaining arguments regarding Bula guys putting my ten cents worth in.
Think in 27 he will be worth 900k if he can improve his last man defense and get more involved in attack.
Only 23 so 2 off seasons away to improve and will be 25 coming into the best years of his career so no reason he won't be at the 900k level.

So you are now a fan of Isaac Moses, thanks for the confirmation.

Possibly with plenty of improvement between now and then, but we have to make a decision before November 1 this year.
Coming off 15 years of failure, we are not really in a position to play guessing games.

I don’t like Moses as much as the next bloke but the great man @tigerballs is right.

the players love him because he gets them what they want, irrespective of how unethical it is. it’s on the NRL to properly police him.

No doubt he’s all about the monetary outcome. And good at it. One could argue he’s not always thinking about reputational damage or consequences the player might face by acting without morals. That’s the kicker.

Realistically what else can the club do but take it up, can't see a herd of useful fullbacks lining up to sign with us.
We are having trouble just bolstering the forward pack and have to compete with the new teams as well.
Don't think we will have much choice.

This year the media has reported two completely fabricated stories about the Wests Tigers:

1. Benji vs Douhei.
2. Complaints of bullying.

They just throw mud to see what sticks, without repercussion.

This is one of those.

Who's talking about Souths? Titans? Dragons (other than the social media bloke)? Sharks? Cowboys? Eels? All of these teams have just as much BS going on if not worse and alot of under achievement..

I dont know why, but the Tigers have a target on their head... I cant pin point it..

So I take articles like this with a grain of salt. Its speculation to do with the tigers and apparently that's what sells..

Jahream is doing fine he’s about to bank 3 or 4 million in his next contract with Wests Tigers.
Perhaps, we started paying players as much as they deserve. IMHO, to some experts on this forum, we must pay players we develop much less than the others? Is to them, the grass always greener on the other side? e.g. Marshall, Farah, Tedesco, Papenhuyzen, Pole, etc.?

3) Bula is exploring his options.

So much nonsense.
