Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A contributor in the All Things Wests Tigers facebook group believes we are one of 3 clubs interested in Harrison Hassett.

Apparently he was about to be selected in the 17 for Penrith this weekend but was taken out just before team lists were lodged on Tuesday. The contributor said the last time this happened was when Turuva was left out by Cleary the week he signed with us.

Take it or leave it as from Facebook.
do we need him do you think BWG ?
wonder how much the ex panthers boys had to do with him there, wouldn’t count the dogs out either

Sports Confidential due out later today as well. they might have something on that.

my issue with Hassett is his size. he's a mongrel but given he's been moved to centre a few times for Penrith's Cup side has me worried.

Probably what I am looking for to be honest to take the Jack Bird role in 2027 being able to play backrow but giving you flexibility on your bench as can play in the centres

with you there. we need that backrower centre type for sure. Garner would've been ideal but he'll get more cash and an opportunity elsewhere.

Nope I wouldn't.

If KPP & Samuela are our 1st choice backrowers, we will also have Bird & Seyfarth able to cover them on the bench probably. Then in NSW Cup, I would have Sukkar (right) & Saukuru (left) as 1st choice, with Broederlow as cover. Then in Flegg we'll have Mitch Taotua, Pheonix Godinet & Byronn Laupepa, all probably capable of playing up in Cup at some point. Then there are NSW Cup quality types like Luke Jack and El Zakhem if retained.

I think that's enough and we don't want to block the pathway of Godinet and give Isaac Moses an excuse to get him out just for a Harrison Hassett.

So that's my long explanation lol unless someone above is being released from our club that we don't know about.

wdym our recruitment and retention is the best it’s been since what feels like I’ve been alive
Looking much better than the past 5 or so years, no doubt about that.
I just get disappointed when clubs built from scratch such as the Dolphins can be premiership contenders within a couple of years, but our rebuilds seem to take forever.
The Dolphins were smart and probably got a bit lucky with the rapid rise of Katoa, but they realised you need to have a couple of superstars in your team and you can then afford to have a few average players that just do their jobs.
We have players such as Alex Twal and Seyfarth who just do their jobs, but have plenty of supporters who want to criticise and blame them when we don’t win games.
These players are not paid or expected to be superstars, much the same as players such as Josh King and Kamikamica at the Storm, Corey Jensen and Kobe Hetherington at the Broncos just to name a few,

In saying this, I would make an exception for Kayliss Fatialofa from the Warriors though lol

that’s what i thought, i know it’s a weak spot now but there’s depth building there & we have young kids with huge futures in that position
