Jahream Bula #269

Are you expecting to win the Premiership in 2027, or just happy with possibly making the top 9 ?
It’s not a trick question.
I'm not expecting to win the premiership any year (only a moron would "expect" a premiership) - but with further improvements to the roster we should be top 4-6 competitive by 2027!

Fullback is a position of strength though - with quality and depth!

So if your objective is not aiming to win a premiership, what’s the point of playing at all ?
Why do we want to be a club that just makes up the numbers ?
The Dolphins and Perth Bears will certainly be aiming to win a premiership quickly and both likely to get there a lot quicker than us with shrewd recruitment.

we talking to any of those next to the asterisks mate? I know you hear a thing or two.
I'm loathe to say anything these days, the trolls can't wait to pounce. Shibasaki is the only one of those that I know of that WT have actually expressed an interest in, but even though the others are contracted to their clubs, they're available to the market due to cap pressure at those clubs. I think there's a few clubs interested. There's another bloke from the Knights who's name I can't remember and an 18 yo forward at Dragons that apparently everyone wants.

the 18 year old forward possibly finau latu ? dogs snagged him but all the clubs wanted him. will be ROTY when he debuts next year without a doubt

fair enough mate. Shibasaki's a good'un and certainly stuck behind a few backrowers at the Cowboys. would filter in nicely on the depth chart for us and is obviously off contract.

"I'm loathe to say anything these days, the trolls can't wait to pounce" 💯agree.

A fun fact for all those old farts like me that may not know...there are at least 6 types of trolls...contrarian, gaslighter, derailer, gatekeeper, mocker and invisible crowd.
Someone told me a good line recently about trolls...when the facts sting, trolls swing [into action].

I’ve done the pub test, nobody other than Wests Tigers fans think of Bula as anything other than just an average run of the mill player.
Not a bad player, but nowhere near superstar status.
They probably felt the same about Latu to be fair

No I think the general rugby league public are now all on notice that Latu could be a superstar in the making.
Latu’s big play against games played ratio would be extremely good at this stage.
I admit it was only a couple of weeks back that I wasn’t convinced he still had enough explosive speed to have the same brilliance that he did as an elite junior and thought that might mean he’s now better suited as a 13.
Last weekend against the Roosters quickly proved that way of thinking to be incorrect.
He’s far from the finished product and needs a lot of focus on areas of his game such as his last play options and kicking game, but we haven’t had a 6 or 7 capable of the individual brilliance that Latu possesses since Benji’s glory days.

Spoke with a mate at the pub about the dogs today he's around the dogs abit

Chatting about someone on here saying Burton off to Parramatta he said no chance at the moment

He said Burton Ciraldo and a football manager at the dogs are all related cousins or whatever I didn't know that till today

But he did mention Kikau mite be getting pushed out all about cap $$$ and the young forwards wanting more

Maybe a few of the young blokes can go win at the pokies like some of the old sharks players use to but it's not recommended to do it in your leagues club

Yes the players were once very lucky on the pokies at Canterbury Leagues, not sure if they are still lucky these days.

I once saw a pokie getting loaded up at the old sharks club for about 20-30 minutes then a sharks player get on the pokie play it for a few minutes and pull out alot of money

The same player I saw push around a woman with physical violence a few weeks later in the club security came as soon as they saw it was a sharks player escorted the woman away and letf the player alone how times have changed

Saw Jahream at the open training today. he spoke to all the kids and signed autographs for over an hour all on his own. What a thorough gentleman and genuine role model this guy is....so impressive.
Anything of note out of the training session today? Did To'a train with his injured elbow?
