Insane result - just saw the scoring. Guess we have won a few on the bell and Haywood being in the bin for the last 3. Might try and watch it later
A shame the last 10 minutes spoiled the result for the boys. Outside of the first 10 minutes of the game and the last 10 minutes of the game, we were the far better side.

There were still some great performances.

Matai had a blinder and was in everything (although with 9 to go, he went to fullback and Tavana came off, pushing Pritchard into the halves). Assuming it was a hia because we activated Pritchard who was 18th man when Tavana came off. This is when Wahs did some damage on Matai's usual side of the field defensively.

Feledy was great with ball in hand, as was Max Taotua. Solo Saukuru had a few lazy efforts defensively which is what he needs to fix up moving forward. But as always, was a danger with the ball everytime he touched it. Tavana didnt have any magic moments but was solid out the back and had plenty of yardage carries. Prefer him on a wing to be honest. Hopefully Logan is back soon and Tavana is ok too.

What are your thoughts on the Taotua twins as prospects moving forward ?
I see so much potential in them as they are both big, strong, fast, aggressive and have good footwork, agility and skill to go with it.
They always show glimpses of their talent, but along with the flashes of brilliance also comes some lazy defensive efforts and for their size and speed I expect them to be much more damaging ball runners than what they are.
Sometimes these big, strong, fast, but young players take a bit longer to really realise how good they can be, I’m hoping we keep them for next season and some good coaching with individual focus could really see them become breakout emerging stars.

I am a big fan of Max. I think he can be a very strong outside back. A typical winger/centre with big yardage carries, but also has that brilliance about him. In my opinion, he is the more likely of the 2 to push for higher honours.

Mitch is very similar to what you said. I see some great things from him with the ball. But defensively he can nod off at times.

Again, would like to persist with him, as with the right coaching he can get better. There is certainly something about him aswell!

Take time with them both, get their development right and see where they go from there.

I think both will still have another year of Flegg in them in 2026. Which is good because depth wise we should be stacked in Cup already. Flegg contract maybe with a nrl pre-season train and trial aspect to it next year is what I would be putting to them.

Not absolute must keeps like Tavana is, but certainly the type of players you would like to keep moving through the grades.

OMFG, 42-22 up with 9 mins to go! 4 converted tries in the last 9 mins including not having the ball in that whole time & Tavana off the field for 3 of those tries for some reason and Haywood in the bin for 2 of them.

I'm pretty sure that'll make it too hard for us to make the top 5 now!

Yep that just made it impossible to make finals

We are on 18 points and 5th placed Eels are on 24 with a match to play today

Good summation @Tigers_Wests I'm still in shock.

I took the young fella to the park halfway through the 2nd half thinking this will be a comfortable win & paused the game on Bar.

Yeah pretty sure Tavana was a HIA too as he got his head in the wrong spot when he fell off the tackle on the Warriors try scorer for their first of their try flurry.

Just trying to get my head around the last 10 mins.

Firstly, just goes to show how important completing the 1st set after a try is. Mataale made the error in his run off the kickoff in the set that the Warriors scored with 9 to go.

Then it was a combination of being gassed; having to adjust our right side defence with Tavana going off Matai moving to fullback & Pritchard coming off; playing with 12 men with 4 to go with Haywood binned; and, Warriors offloading at will.

No one player or few players were to blame in that final 10 mins, all of them were, they pretty much all either fell of tackles, were stepped or couldn't wrap up the ball player.

Also thought for the most part the Mataale/Tavita & Leatigaga/Plati rotations were very good & crucial to our dominance till the 70th minute. Though I think we did miss Josese Lanyon today, especially his fitness would have come handy in the last 10 mins.

Yep the likes of Saukuru and the Taotua twins did some great things in both attack & defence, but they just each have that defensive lapse in them which is holding them back. Agree that Max is probably ahead of Mitch in terms of ability to go to the next level.

Tavana was generally good at the back with his positioning and carries, set up Feledy for our last try but does need to get physically stronger in tackles (did fall off 1 or 2 and couldn't hold up a barge-over try). Didn't get involved as much as what Brookes has in shape either but maybe hasn't spent much time building a combo there with Matai & Liles. After fluffing his first goal kick, he then kicked his next 3 from close to touch too.

Haywood was ok but like most of his team mates needs to work on his defence, seems a strength thing atm and he does arm grab at times. I'm sure each pre-season he'll improve on this in the gym & wrestling mat.

Broederlow played middle again, looked ok, but I'm a bit tentative on his ability moving forward especially being on a Dev deal next season.

Yes we are lacking that win at all costs mentality.
Max Taotua is an interesting one.
He’s the type of player that certainly needs improvement in certain parts of his game, particularly his defence, but he has enough talent to make me think he could potentially jump grades very quickly and possibly stand out with better quality of players around him.

Auckland forwards rolled through the middle, Wests forwards clocked off with 10 to go.Warriors coached to play the 80 mins and kept fighting.Watched Penrith beat a good Parra team yesterday 40-16, next week is not going to be pretty.

What i have seen this season is a lot our developing players need a different approach made to their game there needs to a lot more skills and development training needed, and two main areas are tackling technique, positional player in attack and defense. There is a lot of potential in our lower grades but they do not need to be rushed through.
