Alex Seyfarth #232

one of the tiger podcasts made a good point that we’re getting to the stage where we are outgrowing him as a team, i doubt he makes our best 17 next year but is a solid depth player for the squad
So Seyfarth is our problem ?
What has Sukkar done that Seyfarth didn’t do for starters ?
We have been getting outplayed and belted from the start of games, Seyfarth hasn’t started recently, so what’s that got to do with him ?
You are barking up the wrong tree, Seyfarth at least tries to come on, play with energy, be a support runbercandvifffef something fill different as noted yesterday by the Fix commentary team.
We have far deeper and much bigger problems than Seyfarth.
The Broncos seem to do quite well with a journeyman such as Ben Taity on their bench.

If our coach is showing tapes of Seyfarth as examples of what to do then it’s no wonder why we’re doing shit. I’m sorry but i’m no longer buying into this fanfare… he is consistent & reliable at being absolutely shithouse.
There is no fanfare.

He is crap with the ball and he gets dominated in contact. There aren't any doubts about that.

My point is that he puts himself in the frame to make these contacts in the first place when a lot of our other players don't even make that effort. In terms of penalties, I'd love to see stats on this but he's been a lot better this year compared to last year.

Luai, May, Twal, Seyfarth and Turuva are the only ones that do it week in, week out.

He also has adaptability to play long minutes at both middle and edge.

By all means, kick him out when KPP comes but I've been watching him closely and he's just as lazy as Hunt or Pole off the ball. He isn't going to pick up that slack either.

Tony Sukkar has played what 9-10 games? Seyfarth has played almost 100 of them….

Seyfarth lacks pace when playing on an edge and better suited as an interchange middle because of it.
However despite lacking pace Seyfarth at least tries to run good lines and run into the ball at speed.
Our lack of speed, lack of footwork, lack of creativity and lack of class on our edges including our centres is a major issue.
To’a was going well at the starting the season, but as per usual looks busted and now running the ball like a pensioner on a walking frame and missing more tackles than he makes.

lmao no, i just think he’s a depth player & using the Ben taity example means nothing to me we have journeymen in our squad doing the same thing, Murray & hope i.e

He’s not the reason we are losing games.
He could easily play the same role as Ben Taity for the Broncos and it would make them any worse of a team.

Yeah Seyfarth's far too limited physically to be useful in this league. His best position imo is as a ball playing lock, which he would've been useful at pre-6 again era, but not anymore.

Honestly done pretending this guy resembles anything close to a first grader. He can’t win the battle physically, is poor with his discipline & gets bent back with every run. It’s a reflection of him that the onus is “he tries hard” shouldn’t every fkn first grader try hard? the guy is shit and the fact he was extended for 3 years is criminal. Needs to be wearing the Magpies jersey barring any injuries.
Too bad for you that Benji loves Seyfarth so he will never go against him. You will have to live with him in the team for the next 15 years because he is going to play 400 games of NRL. Long live Seyfarth! Long live the king!

Haha
wouldn’t it be nice if we only had one journeyman on the bench, we have at least 3 in our starting 13 😫

It would be even nicer if we had some genuine star quality that could come up with a few exceptional plays to help influence games in our favour, or if our higher profile and higher paid players could start doing this themselves.

We just paid an Origin player $1.2m a year… hopefully this will happen soon

If you really believed that it won’t happen ..then it would be pointless to keep on following the team and expecting them to be competitive
I’ve already seen enough it know we won’t be getting much value from our 1.3 million and it’s likely we will upgrade Api, pay him around 700k and it’s doubtful we will get much value out of that deal either.
If we rarely if ever get value out of the money we are spending, what hope have we got ?

The NRL has it out for us. Now we will be without our best player for the remainder of the season.
On game day I felt Crighton cocked his shoulder and clearly led with it. Your post shows he has hit May with the shoulder before his arms are any ware near Mays body. This is exactly what I have complained about on the forum before. The colour of the guernseys dictates the result.
