Alex Seyfarth #232

I distinctly remember hearing he was too small.

Almost as if people didn't know who they were talking about.
Yeah definitely agree with you there. There are some on this forum that don’t know what they are talking about and obvious from some of their comments. There are still a lot of people that show you the positives in the game and what areas to the team can work on that still gives us some hope to keep supporting the WT and their player development squads.

I've always liked Seyfarth because he did and does his best - especially when some of the team tanked around him in the past.
Now we're starting to gain a bit better quality cattle his days are numbered to reggies or the bench. Shame he hasn't improved as much as I would have hoped.

Its unbelievable but also a regular stat...its.like benjis told him just tackle.
We already give oppositions head starts in too many areas.
I bag KPP for.his shit numbers but he looks like Olokoatu compared to baby G.
Absolutley insane and bizaare decision to extend him for 4 more years or whatever it was
Looking up Seyfarth's stats:

I quickly realise we are burning our front row. His minutes in 2025 now, equal his minutes in 2024 - 22 minutes!!

Notice his tackles are almost at last years total too. All the stats have improved, except:
Errors 8-6
and
Missed tackles: 41-35

By the end of the year I suspect Seyfarth will have about 60 missed tackles.
This has to improve!

Stat wise, Seyfarth is looking good BAR the missed tackles. A part of this though is due to the entire forward pack playing WAY too many minutes. No excuses, Seyfarth needs to improve his missed tackles and errors. Otherwise he has really stepped up as a forward.

We started losing the game once he came on. Just not seeing it with Seyfarth anymore I've been a supporter of his...but we must have a very low win % when he plays.

I would need to look back closely but it was a combination I think of May (and maybe Twal?) went off for Kit and Seyfarth.

The Roosters then started making metres through the middle which they had not all game. I remember about 3 times before halftime they just made a hitup and ended up getting held up as our first contact was not good enough to hold them originally.

yeh he needs that senior member of pack on with him. as long as he is not the main man in the middle for his time on the field, I like him. thought he won some of his contact yesterday too

Kit came on later I thought, just for the final 10 minutes of the half. Sukkar notably tired as well

Honestly done pretending this guy resembles anything close to a first grader. He can’t win the battle physically, is poor with his discipline & gets bent back with every run. It’s a reflection of him that the onus is “he tries hard” shouldn’t every fkn first grader try hard? the guy is shit and the fact he was extended for 3 years is criminal. Needs to be wearing the Magpies jersey barring any injuries.

Can you say all other players in the team "try hard"?

Seyfarth gives you consistency and reliability. He's there for every kick chase, he gets behind the ball before any forward and also keeps himself in the frame to give options.

He is the guy the coach shows tapes of to Pole, To'a, Fainu etc to show them what they should be doing.

Seyfarth doesn't win contact for sure, but neither do guys like Cotter, McCinnes, Finucane etc. They just keep their legs moving and show up just in case.

If every player does what Seyfarth did, then Alex wouldn't be in this team.

We've been playing with one second rower all season.
It's criminal that Richo didn't fill the obvious hole with someone/anyone before June 30.

If our coach is showing tapes of Seyfarth as examples of what to do then it’s no wonder why we’re doing shit. I’m sorry but i’m no longer buying into this fanfare… he is consistent & reliable at being absolutely shithouse.

The constant excuse making for mediocre players is such a Tigers fan trait. We’re so starved of success and talent in the second row that people will go out of their way to defend a player who has been shit for the better part of 4 years. He gives away dumb penalties, he makes piss poor metres, and he loses the contact both ways so wtf does he offer??

We are the only team in the league that would give this joke of a player a prominent role in our top 17.

one of the tiger podcasts made a good point that we’re getting to the stage where we are outgrowing him as a team, i doubt he makes our best 17 next year but is a solid depth player for the squad
