Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Anyway so far it’s been yet another weekend of back rowers, centres, fullbacks and lightning fast wingers all coming up with big plays and creating line breaks and tries for their team.
Plenty of our supporter base on this forum seem to think with the inclusion of Taylan May and KPP we become competent as a team in these positions.
I am yet to see it on a regular basis, we appear to have the least dangerous team in these important attacking positions and desperately need the injection of an outside back and a back rower who are fast and dangerous ball runners and preferably strong defenders to go with it.
If these types of players are not available for 2026, we should be moving fast to sign some quality for 2027.

3 players meeting with ex CEO and ex Major sponsor and Chairman is not a good look , it just starts shit weather true or not , rumours , journos spreading click bait rubbish , players should be smarter than that , and if the club feels it did happen the top 30 should be lined up and told we want the 3 to come forward before names get put in the paper exc , then club can simply ask , is there anything we need to know that is negative towards our club , , also why would 3 of you be with these guys at the same time , it’s a bad look , and if rumours start it will be on the players to fix it up or get sacked , no matter who it is ,

I didn’t really get that part , as you have highlighted more than anyone here the funding problems at the club … it’s a bigger pipe dream seemingly than someone suggesting they sign Payne Haas
Are you confused why I'd bother making a suggestion about something they need more funding for when I know they have none?

Hmm I would say passively highlighting the funding problem by demonstrating specifics so that fans who otherwise may not realise the specifics are more clearly able to see it.

And by educating more of the fans on the subject potentially ever so slightly increasing the pressure on the owners to change it.

You are right that we need those players to compete but players like that rarely come off contract and when they do it's usually only to test their value before they get re-signed. Of course we should try nonetheless but we most definitely have tried. KPP may not (yet) be a worldbeater but he was the best backrower on the market. Taylan May especially for what we are paying is probably the best signing of that type we could have made too. And with Makasini coming through we have the highest rated outside back in the game locked in too. To a lesser extent the club has done well developing Saukuru this year into a backrower that might prove to possess some strike.

Not enough yet of course but it's good business all the same. We need to get to a place where we not only have a competitive top 17 but that we are developing prototype talent behind the starters that are NRL ready every season so we don't need to play the external recruitment game.

hey ..make the call by all means … and I’ll keep hoping they sign Payne Haas

Any real news on potential signing for next year , ru ours around the club on new Recruites .
We need some players to finish this team off
We also need to remove a few from reserve grade and def upgrade a bit

I could make sometime up if you like …

Any “real” rumours are reported here in about 5 mins seemingly…

It is a forum for a club that has three consecutive wooden spoons.

People who have passion in something that is failing finding success are forced to confront and challenge the things causing it. Criticism is often the most loving thing someone can give. And accepting that criticism with an open mind is often the quickest path to positive transformation.

It is very unlikely anyone who spends significant time on a Tigers forum don't ultimately want them to succeed and the critical ones are just as passionate if not moreso than those who are endlessly faithful.

You are not the club, Benji, Richo or the players so why take offence on their behalf? It's a sports team not a religion and you are a fan not a zealot? They are just simple men not Gods.
We may have 3 consecutive spoons but that is not the only thing this forum is for. There are a myriad of purposes for it.
Criticism has a valid place in any part of our society. The right to express criticism is a given; however, when it becomes a repetitive diatribe, where the same point is made over and over again without adding more to a point, is it still just an opinion or somethin g else?
I come here to enjoy people's thoughts, and I have nothing against people being critical of the club when it is due. However, there are some who appear to relish in slagging the club endlessly. Interestingly, some appear like clockwork when the club has not had a successful season. They want to blow everything up/ sell the club/ sack the coach etc but there is very often no suggestion of how the club could improve. That's what gets on my goat. I usually ignore it but some recent comments got to me.

I have heard rumours but most of them we missed out on. I think we are in the market but being careful not to over spend. Looking for value over splash. Which is good and correct.

If you look at the players currently off contract there are plenty of good experienced depth types still on the market to finish off our roster and the longer they are on the market the better the price you can get for them. We don't need to be in a hurry to extend an offer to the Fletcher Baker's and Corey Jensen's when players of that calibre are a dime a dozen and also what we actually need ironically. It's a unique situation thats fans are not generally well equipped for hahaha.

Get the three to air their grievances infront of the playing group, Benji and Richo. If they want to say something let them look them in the eye.

I understand and mostly agree. I think if you managed to find a way have a constructive dialogue with some of the people you view that way you might find that more of them have suggestions than you think and the ones that don't are really just hurting and looking for optimists to pick them up. And of course there are trolls. There are always trolls. But it's important to not treat the former two groups with the same frustration owed to only the trolls.

I'd like to think I do that already but with some there is no point in engaging with them. Constructive dialogue is something they do not engage with and sometimes you just have to call it out.
