Adam Doueihi #227

Yea I mean we signed Jock Madden for 350!

Perth will be able to offer that if more I suspect.

Aside from Issac Moses, who heck is a poor AD decision that we shouldn't reward. ...
AD has again gone from Right Center where we want him to "playing in the halves". Yes our 5/8 position is more open and AD + Luai seems to be working as a halves pair.

This shows the fragility of Latu Fainu. He has a stack of talent but I don't see a player who can move the team around... Number 14 is Latu's best spot for now and injecting him in makes sense.
One thing for AD is he has that commanding structure. He will want to move the team around and be in control, something Brooks doesn't have. Luai has it, but not every game...

Things start becoming very expensive.. Luai 1m, Latu 500k and possible upgrade, AD could get 600k on the market... were easily over 2m on our halves and I don't think they are worth it.
I never understand why people need to manage the club’s salary cap for them.

400k for 2 years for our goalkicker, senior team member, who can cover basically every position in the spine + centre, in his prime, as well as a junior who loves the club. Great deal, can't ask for much more really.

Extremely happy that he's paying the club back for the loyalty shown and sticking around
Why has everybody convinced themselves he’s on 400k?

So you ready to drop this rubbish about non PI players now? especially because AD literally said Benji is a big reason why he stayed.
It’s not rubbish I invented.
Others on here have been saying it for months.
The only culture that matters is work hard, consistently improve and win.
I couldn’t give a shit where they all come from.

OMG
Get over yourself DH
Doueihi the next Andrew John’s is what I call humour,
Not that you would know what that is 😖
Many posters have said after this game,
Luai & Doueihi should be our halves
and
Naden should stay in the side in front of To’a after his performance.

I gather in your mind everything that you post is true and correct but guess what that’s Bullshit.
So not only do you exaggerate, but your replies are over the top and disproportionate.
Grow up you silly old bugger, you are too old to act like this.

are you 100% AD has found a new lease on life to be our savior, doubt it. Yes his contract is wise n smart at reported prices
No, I have never thought of him as our saviour, with a long history on here of questioning his lack of application, particularly defensively,. Seeing Doueihi as a player with some great attacking abilities that allowed for very high peaks, yet his inconsistency and too frequent shockers left him overall a below average player.

However, Adam turned up in 2025 with a newly found defensive attitude from the first trial and has been his best thus far since coming to WT. As such, 2 months or so ago, I wrote that he is versatile and deserving of an extension at average dollars of some $400k.

Some on her were willing to go as high as $650 ?

Thankfully we have better people running things these days.
I was always of the belief that at one stage, I think around the time of his 2nd ACL, that Doueihi was on around $650k, the next 2 one year extensions on considerably less.

No idea what this new 2 year deal is but around $400k give or take a bit seems to be what is being tossed around by most.

Some it would appear are just tossing off. 🤣

Am sure Moses played a role
But for what we probably paid for Douhi.hes a much better value buy regardless than ANY of our other halves
Its up to Benji to extract consistency from him
Value is an interesting proposition.

So, lets take a player like Stefano when he first came here (not now, but at the start). The guy was clearly a massive prop and initially paid unders.
But we needed a solid forward. Someone who could deliver.

In the halves we need someone who can deliver and Consistently deliver.
It's why Adam Reynolds, DCE, etc are worth their money. You get someone in a key spot that has to be a key spot.

Maybe AD is being signed for unders. based on current form 600k would be unders. Based on his 5+ year history with us 400k would be overs. But all that's not the point.

The Cowboys brought Chad Townsend for 1M. This was huge overs. It got them a finals appearance. Almost every club would pay overs for DCE.

We need 900k+ value in the halves so we start making the finals.

Great news, I'd start him at halfback, he's experienced, plenty of skill and still has room for improvement.

It would be awesome for the team if Latu, could become a good 14 (not sure about the hooker role though) and then take maybe over from AD.

We paid overs for Stefano to come to the club and that is how/why we got him, he never got unders playing for us.

Doueihi is #7 until Latu claims the spot- which he will.

It won't hurt Latu to get some experience filling in at centre & #13 on occasion if required, adding the to the halves as well.

The more he plays, the better he will get. Some will suggest he play 7 in KOE, and on occasion I will agree. But we lack at genuine ball player at lock, don't have a proper utility forward to cover more than #9 on the bench. So Latu fits that need.

He returned to us as a young gun FB, off the back of his rabbits debut filling in very well at FB and into their finals run. (From memory).
He obviously hated those few extra weeks and decided to come here. 😜
He played us and Fruit Pascals against ckickens or dogs and yeah I think we paid 650ish for 3, and we were all aboard the Doobie Express.
A hundred faked injuries, a few real ones, a thousand missed tackles, a few tries, some revised contracts and here we are jumping aboard again.
Seriously though, =\<$400 is a fair deal for both parties and where they are at.
I said a week back I’d be happy with 400ish on 1, so to hear it’s just under at 2 is a great result. We gave a little (extra year), and he gave a little (<$400 and <opposition’s offer).
A long time ago I was told by a very smart negotiator and poker player “If both parties come away from a negotiation fairly happy, but not giggling, then the correct and fair result was probably achieved”.
I bet Richo has heard that before, whereas Fruit Pascals just learnt something new. 😎
I think this is what’s happened here with Doobs, and although I have been critical, he is my fav player until our next game out of respect for the way he has handled these negotiations. I was a bit concerned when he engaged with Isuk Measles. I thought the circus was about to hit concord again.

Choo Choo, all aboard the Doobie Express!!!

I was thinking about it and he's made a lot of sacrifices by staying here. At st George he'd have a much clearer path to either a halves role or at 13. They're pretty weak across all those positions. With us he's accepting, it seems, a utility role with no guarantee of position anywhere. Shows he does truly feel loyal to the club if he has in fact accepted less money. This impacts not only his next contract but the one after it as at the dragons he'd be a much better chance of showing his halves skills where with us he is no guarantee.

Doueihi has his faults but the biggest issue with him had been his tackling. Having improved there he's a quality player to have re-signed and I appreciate he's one of few players recently who have genuine affection for the club.

He was always paid on what he mite be one day based on his physical presence....but never his effort
That day never arrived at WTs...still isnt arriving at Storm.though must concede he is improving with bellyaches size 10 up his backside
There was a 30 minute period in a game where he busted heaps of tackles and made 130m. At this point I thought he would be elite. He never reached those heights again. It turned out he was a pea-hearted pillow who would only run hard when there was a smaller man in front of him.
