LIVE GAME Round 24 v Manly

Live Game Discussion
Im interested to hear from those also at the game about Api. Watching it there, I felt Api's service really has a negative effect on our attack. At times his passing is very clunky and not crisp. Also, his little fake and jink to engage the markers often puts too much pressure on our halves. There times when a dummy half needs to pass fast straight from the ground. He never does that, its always the little play to engage the markers. Juts occasionally he beeds to give fast service. Im sure it effects our edges.
Been saying and thinking that for a while.

But yesterday, I saw a bigger issue of "Depth". Especially guys like Terrel, Twal, Hunt and Pole. They don't retreat back far enough to wind up and especially in good ball, they don't go back far enough to actually be a threat. What ends up happening is that the blockers are so tight that even if Api wants to do a flat pass out to first receiver, the defence just runs straight at the halves and jams them up.

It comes down to fitness. You need to go back 10m + from the PTB each attacking play to actually be a line break threat. Our props are getting the ball too flat footed.

To me, it excuses Api's service a little bit, but he needs to be the one to tell them to retreat back far enough.

There was a moment in the first half where douhei kicks on the 4th and gets his legs taken out mid air and he shanks it...I personally don't have an issue with it but why is that okay but one play later on 5th it's all about player safety on the kicker ? That confuses me.
I was blowing up about it, but on replay, the defender (I think Jazz) got his hip not legs. Legal tackle IMO.

4 From 10 last 10 years.

By your logic, St George won 11 premierships in a row at some point...should we judge them on recent or historical form?
It wasn't any logic as such, it was just pointing out their record over the last 20 years. That being said, pointing out that manly has failed to make the finals just 6 times in the last 20 years is not the same as using a run of premierships won 60-70 odd years ago as evidence of anything regarding the current Dragions team.

Could the issue yesterday be minutes as the bench was terrible? We dominated all game with the re-zone attack the main reason the win was not more dominant.

Agree, AD positioned himself badly and being a right foot kicker showed too much of the ball to the defender forcing his angle toward the sideline to be too sharp.
Rest of the day his kick positioning and depth was fine.

4 from 10 indicates their decline in recent years.

Saying 14 from 20 includes a period that distorts the most recent decade. The difference is significant.

I didn't ask to hear people's gripes with his injury rate.. I just asked for our coaching staff to let him fully recover from the injury he has had for the last 2 months.

He isn't Cooper Cronk, this isn't the 2018 grand final, what are we doing?
It appears that they are different injuries.

It's all good, he was gesturing to Jacob Kiraz a few suburbs away so it shoudn't be an issue.
I recall him making the sign of the cross after his try. Surely that’s offensive to atheists as well as many non-Christian religions. This must be referred to the NRL and action taken. Must not offend anyone, anywhere at any time.

Meh, you were watching a different game.

Our defense was exceptional, especially in the second half. When you keep your opposition below 16 points to win, it equals 2 points.

We did that.
I'll watch it again. Might be better the second time around.

St George Illawarra have won 1 premiership the same as the Wests Tigers
