Jahream Bula #269

Blah blah - Brooks stayed for 10 years moron!

Tedesco had been courted by Minichello to go to Easts (after reneging on his earlier Canberra deal while being managed by Ayoub)...

Woods went to the dogs due to his wife & to play with his Origin mate Klem - (see how that turned out for him)

Moses tanked to go to his Dad's club Parra....

Galvin is a moron and glad to be rid of him!

Blame the fricking players - not always the manager!!
Hope Galvin is the last turd who wants out for a while, it really can disrupt a season and fill supporters with dread.

Still think we need another, who do you want.
A - What middle that we are a realistic chance of signing for 2026 or 2027 will significantly improve us ?
B - If we do somehow sign a quality middle, which 4 middles out of Terrell May, Fonua Pole, Alex Twal, Sione Fainu, Royce Hunt, Bunty Afoa, Alex Seyfarth, Jack Bird and Kit Laulilli will miss out on our top 17 when we are full strength ?

I'm with you V I think the next signing should be an outside back, think we have done OK in the middle.

If we could offload a couple of players on that list and replace them with someone who woukd make us a much better team for the same contract value than I would be all for it.
But high quality middles are few and far between at the moment and you cannot replace someone who’s contract value is 400k or less with someone who’s contract value is 800k plus and expect to stay under the salary cap.
So if we are replacing Twal, Seyfarth or Bird for example, we need to replace them with someone who’s contract value is no more than 400k.
What high quality middles can we sign for 400k or less ?

To be honest, I don’t waste my time compiling team lists or fantasy league.
I don’t care who, but they need to be an established first grader - not an up and comer yet to crack the big time.
So true the majority of targets that are aimed at by the forum are rarely ever a realistic possibility, although Bunty was mentioned on here months ago, throw enough darts you will hit the bullseye eventually.

Unless the plan with Madden includes the possibility of him playing some game time in the 9, then I think we need another hooker other than Hope, before another middle.

SFA unfortunately the cupboard is bare.

I was chatting to a bloke the other day about Owen Trout who is.playing tonite....he said hes a good backrow/frontrower whos looking at a crack in the NRL.
He plays for Leigh who are pretty average...i watch a.little ESL and.cant say hes stood.out.to me.
Keep an.eye on him in the test if you're watching....just seems a bit too tall and rangy for a middle

A - loaded question. Only haas or tino or fonua blake etc. we aren’t a realistic signing destination

B - who cares. Depth is a good problem to have.

This is why when some of our supporters try to blame our failure on players such as Twal and Seyfarth it is extremely misguided.
We all know they are only plodders and are not likely going to do anything brilliant to win us a game, but they contribute with their work rate and energy , Twal with his error free game.
I would love to know who we are signing that is significantly better than Twal for 400k and who we are signing that is significantly better than Seyfarth for 350k ?
Further to this, what 350-400k valued players are regular stand outs and in games for opposing teams ?
News Flash - It’s the highly paid players that are supposed to do the special things to win their team games.
Once our highly paid players start doing special things to win us games we will be in the top 8 and we won’t have anything to worry or argue about.

Your answer to question A explains why it is pointless for anyone to keep mentioning we need better middles unless they can also advise which high valued player we are getting rid of to fit in a high valued middle.

I have only seen his 2025 highlights which are ok without being spectacular, but I believe has has only recently transitioned from playing on an edge to the middle and looks to be tall and tangy with good leg speed which is becoming more important than size in the modern game.
It will be interesting to see how he goes against the Kangaroos tonight and at a guess I think he would be more in our price range of under 500k if we were interested in him.

I thought Twal had a good season and when he hasn't delivered previously was under injury cloud.

But Seyfarth has cost us games and I have no time for him, he never learns.

We don’t need backs. We need to improve the engine room.
As far as I’m concerned, we can shed a few from your list, they aren’t getting us results.

You could be right, but as I’ve said replacing them with better players on the same contract value is easier said than done.

Yep absolutely.
In a perfect world I’d keep May, Twal and Fainu and boot the rest of them, including Pole. Problem is, it’s been left too late to replace them.
Let’s hope they improve I guess….
