Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

particularly after losing our 2 most talented players... I appreciate Vicious' passion, but he lives in fantasy land sometimes
Elite players would not be interested if we offer more than anyone else ?
People are quick to forget Luai only signed with us because we offered him more than anyone else.
You can say and think what you like, but neither player is putting the club first if they do not sign to extend with us by the end of this week.

I would like to know as a loyal and passionate Wests Tigers fan how long you are prepared to wait for high profile, high cost players such as Luai and Bula to commit to the club from 2027 onwards before it becomes a concern to you ?

You are changing the subject … we can all complain about the quality of the team … but I’m sure there aren’t many quick fixes

You don't know what stage they are at with negotiations. And I can guarantee if they head elsewhere that will be red flag stuff for others and won't have players lining up to come to this club unless they are mercenaries or seeking the retirement fund.
I don'y know what the thing is with mercenaries - they have been quite instrumental in winning a few wars

Not sure another middle is what we need. We need a back up 9/utility that can come off the bench. That would Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon another middle forward who feels like a stop gap for a year.
What do you do with Latu then start him at lock and move Twal to the bench.

That might be true, but I don’t think it requires the entire forum to tell him. This place has a fetish for piling on posters when they dare go against the grain on a topic.
I missed the part where the "entire" forum has piled on. He has his right to his opinion and I do appreciate the passion but its a forum for people to discuss things and ideas.

If you are going to ad nauseam state an opinion that doesn't make sense, or is just contrary for the sake of it, there will be push back. To Vicious credit he is always willing to engage

I think you are underestimating the impact yet another rebuild would have on our ability to recruit.

They will put their interests first (when it comes to contracts etc.), wouldn't you?

And I bet Jarome Luai stats at WTs are the worst in his career and yet at Penrith always in the positive. Just like Stefanos at Melbourne Storm have suddenly landed in the positive after always being in the negative at this club. There is a common denominator..
Mind blowing stuff...

Players stats improve when they play for two of the best sides in the comp... Yet they aren't quite as great when they play at a club who's had 3 back to back spoons with the worst adminstration in the comp.

Who would have thought?

The forum is a cash cow for Kul. He makes a bucket load of money of us, and so long as the basics are working he doesn't care about making our experience better. It's all about ad views for him.

And no I don't know why someone changed my post in the quote.
That's the issue, it's automated, partisan and objectively incorrect.

It's absolutely ridiculous and childish.

The fact he won't address or justify it, even privately, is embarrassing and cowardly.

poorly worded on my part. I see limited benefits of a contract of that length for both parties over a 3 year deal.

i think a deal around that money for 26, 27, 28 with no backending but the opportunity to renegogiate and extended in 2027 for 28 and beyond would be the best outcome for all.

I love Bula, his ceiling is enormous, but he is far from a sure thing
I don't disagree.

But in terms of project fullbacks with upside, I don't know that there's too many better around the league anywhere.

You have answered your own question.
The successful NRL clubs manager to get the right balance in having top quality players who are influential and help their team achieve success on the field and lower tier players who play their role and help them stay under the Salary Cap.
The NRL ladder over the past 10 or so years clearly indicates Wests Tigers do not get this right.
I have been banging my head against the wall constantly explaining on this forum, if our highly paid influential players cannot get us enough wins to be successful, it means there is clearly a problem.
I read many uninformed comments trying to say players such as Alex Seyfarth or Alex Twal are the ones causing us to fail, I’ve never heard so much crap in my life.
That is like saying we could bring in Corey Jensen, Kobe Hetherington and Tyson Smoothy from the Broncos premiership winning team in place of Seyfarth, Twal and one other and we automatically become successful.
For the hundredth time the lower tier squaddies on lower tier contracts do not determine a teams success, it is the highly paid players that determine how successful a team is.
If that doesn’t break it down in plain English as to why our bigger name players come under the spotlight from myself and quite a few others, than I don’t know what will.
Keep moving them posts mate... you might think you're the expert but the rest of us arent the dopes you make us out to be
Im glad you're instigating discussion but give the patronising a rest eh

You're thinking he won't last long before he breaks down again anyway, then replace 7 with Doueihi lol.
My confidence in his fitness isn’t very high. Some players just don’t have to the body. He’s still young though, so has time to overcome those issues. I’m not big on AD at 7. I know he was our best late in the season, but his future is at 13 imo. Good fill in at 7, but not a first choice.

Indefinitely. Because If I'm Richo I'm talking to other fullbacks not sitting on my hands hoping Bula makes a decision. But until one is signed im continuing to show interest in Bula as well.

Also I wouldn't include Luai in this. He has zero reason to remove his clauses. He has said and done all the right things to suggest he will remain at the club but it would be foolish of him to remove the clauses.
