It’s not difficult to set it up to be tax-free. The earnings will be made overseas and an arrangement is made with the country where the earnings should be taxed e.g Dubai to make the earnings tax-free.Why is it tax-free ? The last time I looked at the tax act professional sport income was treated as assessable earnings under Australian tax law. R360 isn't covered under the same rules as the NRL PNG arrangement
Find it really hard to believe they have simply walked away from 100s of thousands of dollars.Does anyone else find it strange that both NAS and Paps are both just talking breaks away from the game and just walking away from massive money. 🙄
Sorry I don't buy it and if they sign elsewhere, it should come off their cap also.
The cap system needs a massive overhaul IMO
Perdue grew up playing in the half’s. I’d say they are looking at him as a Munster replacement since he is likely to go to the bears. Can we get Faalogo then ? Imagine being him … waiting for his opportunity and as soon as Paps leaves they are going after Purdue? Call me a little skeptical on that one ..
Not saying tax can't be reduced for those who can afford a knowledgeable accountant but for the average punter many countries have reciprocal tax arrangements. If the ATO deems you haven't paid enough tax in say Japan, they bill you. Know this from experience. It’s not difficult to set it up to be tax-free. You are a man after my own heart. I lived in Jland for many years, played some rugby and had hand in development with the JRL. Im a Subaru guy, along with Kawasaki when it comes to GP. Absolute candy land if you are into J spec, I built some mean WRX cars via a few of the race shops, even imported one many years ago. The Honda scene is immense! Seen a few races at Montegi, what a circuit but plenty at Okayama International, it was basically up the road from my place. I get back every few years for some decent ramen, Autobacs, races and a few beers with old mates. Amazing country, amazing culture. Not just Australians. So many tourists here some places you'd swear you weren't in Japan, but also people on pr visas for work.
Just like Australia they need workers to support an ageing population; without them there's no workers, no tax revenue, no economy. Just like Australia, some people just see 'invader' without understanding why they need them here.
Main difference is wages are much lower than in Australia. No nationally set minimum hourly casual rate. Tokyo is around 1,300 yen per hour(13 dollars) country areas as low as 700 yen an hour. Buggered if I know how people survive on that. Monthly pay for permanent workers is low too.
Off to the Honda Collection Hall Tuesday. Big Collection of Honda bikes n cars next to Motegi Twin racetrack. Always been a Honda fan. Have had a 79 XL500 since new. Looks as ugly as me these days but still starts first kick if my knee is up to it.
Agree. The place is an armpit but business wise they have it going on.Pretty good business actually - would have around 1.7 mil after getting rid of NAS, Pezet and now Paps. Thats how you upgrade.
Sounds like you had great experiences. Can't say did as much as you re rugby etc but did very much enjoy the lifestyle, especially in the halcyon bubble period economy. Never got out of bed for less than 50 an hour back then. Even had a stunt as Santa at 200 a gig for 1 hour. You are a man after my own heart. XL 500 wow, thats a beast. Made them bulletproof back in the day. Im cruising a Yamaha MT09 these days, fun and easy to whip around. Lower back has cancelled out the race bikes haha!
Were you underwhelmed, whelmed or overwhelmed?I never saw Tumeth play either … didn’t know what he looked like until they put that post out thanking the leaving players a few weeks back

Re Papenhuyzen
He is no longer an NRL ‘player’ as he isn’t contracted to any club
Wonder if it is a loophole
Now that he isn’t contracted, and is officially distant from the NRL, would the policy announced by NRL still apply to him?
I don’t think it does
I told you Purdue was an elite fullback in waiting long ago.Can we get Faalogo then ? Imagine being him … waiting for his opportunity and as soon as Paps leaves they are going after Purdue? Call me a little skeptical on that one ..
Smart clubs regularly finish near the top of the competition ladder.Pretty good business actually - would have around 1.7 mil after getting rid of NAS, Pezet and now Paps. Thats how you upgrade.
Wasn't Tino recruited to the Storm and made his NRL debut with that club?Storm are looking at Tino and Jaxson Purdue, rich get richer 🙄
Forgot the XL500. like me it ain't pretty but has never broken down since1979. Running an 84 XL front end on it now. Drum brake doesn't cut it anymore. You are a man after my own heart. Jaylan De Groot is one of the best young fullbacks in the NRL and the second quickest player in behind Saab. Imo looks better than Purdue and they also have Kini and Brimson.I told you Purdue was an elite fullback in waiting long ago.
As I said at the time, Bula is a good player but would be well behind Purdue in the pecking order for every club wanting to upgrade their fullback.
