HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

If Richo decelared his conflict of interest, as it appears, he would be removed from any decision making process involving the company - it is standard business practice. So if contracts have been let etc, unless Richo has been influencing other board members for big contracts or the selection process that has been undertaken for smaller "quote" style services, he will be in the clear. This is highly likely someone throwing mud, possibly at the behest of a third party, to create an unstable environment and potentially push Richo to make a move.

Richo is not a member of the board, as CEO as long as he discloses the conflict of interest he can be involved in the decision making, however he would need to follow proper governance and ensure that he is not making the decisions in isolation and once the board were made aware of the conflict than they have a duty to ensure all dealings he has are above board.

All things considered.I regrettably cant see him staying
Huge setback for the footy club..these guys with their experience and skills just dont fall out of trees
Mind you...hes been set of for failure by HBG
Dont think this will end well for the footy team, which is all were concerned about
Can't wait for the Jarome Luai will he stay or will he go then the Bula circus will be bubbling along and then the Marshall circus will rear its ugly head me thinks 2026 could be a right off already.

IT'S weird, personally, I'm a bit numb to this. Its so cyclic! We slowly seem to be turning the club around, things are looking positive and then bang, some pleb we never should have even heard of throws a grenade and runs off before the explosion, leaving others to try and put the pieces back together.

The organisation needs wholesale change. The leaks are a joke, the upper management is a joke, and the lack of accountability is a joke.

The sad thing is I'm just not interested, the expectation of this happening time and time again far outweighs the hope for the future at this point.

Like most have supported the tigers from the get-go, supported the magpies before that. I was so excited to join a club with the history of the tigers, and for the most part, i still think the partnership is great regardless of it all.

I want to care but this club is literally driving me to the point where i don't. This personally makes me a little sad because i love rugby league, i love my tigers, i love the supporter base, and most of all I love the camaraderie of it all.

I don't even really care if this gets responses; even though I love the discussions on the forum good, bad and ugly. just need to get it off my chest and move on.

Sad sad day.

I guess it depends on the particular rules, certainly where I have been involved the party with the conflict could speak on techical issues and be involved in assisting the decision makers - but has no part to play in the decsion making process. As CEO he would be required to appoint an "assessment team" for a tender/contract and the subsequent nogotiations and take recommendations to the board if required.

Some boards may have a more relaxed interpretation so it may not run that way in every organisation.
I think the key thing to take away is that the conflict of interest was declared prior to taking the job and processes should have been in place to protect both Wests Tigers and Richo.

If they weren't then he may have a problem.

It'll be hard to determine what "inflated" looks like.

If we paid rich digital 30% more than we could have paid with company X, it isn't grounds for dismissal.. because heaper doesn't always mean better..

If rich digital were 1000% more expensive for the same service, then yeah Richo should be worried. But I highly doubt its anywhere near a number like that

At the end of the day, it's a reactive accusation from HBG after being told that the NSW liquor and gaming would investigate them..

They are scum..

I'm going to have to find a way to make this protest next weekend..
My question is if it was at any other club would there be a song and dance over it and who blew the whistle someone from HBG.

If as just mentioned it was a ridiculous amount of money for the job done, then Houston we have a problem and it really does flip the script.

That then comes back to the directors sacked we are still in the dark over it hope it's not too long for some transparency over this decision.

Boy what a mess it just keeps getting worse and worse, only at Wests Tigers people geez.

Agree Jolls, the fact that he disclosed should mean the right processes were in place.

Only at places ran HBG is closer to the mark and what a terrible insult it is to both men who were legends of their founding club's to have such an abortionof an organisation named after them.
