Mate everything that’s been said , has been spoken about all over the podcasts , forums etc. the simple fact is the only solution to the problem is time .
The brutality of life means older generations who never transitioned but sit in places of power will die out (literally), and eventually the club will shift to a Wests tigers . There will be no magpies nor Balmain , ultimately because the question will be asked by those say millennials and younger , wtf is a magpie and Balmain . Because whilst I do see how the magpies represents a lot of older people’s youth and identity , it isn’t held in the same regard and reverence by younger generations . In fact it’s quite the opposite .
Same for Balmain .
Whilst once an area of dock workers and middle class hard working peoples , it has transitioned into a yuppy haven with people who are just as likely to ask “who the F are the tigers” as much as they are to follow the team. LO however being a borderline tourist attraction for people to have a final destination after a pub crawl , almost like an inner city Berlin Love Parade , where people are met by screams and Guns and roses , and cert crashes for 80 minutes , rather than techno music , naked young people and copious amounts of MDMA, puts life still into the Wests tigers brand .
The reality is, and I’m a demon as much as anyone for harping on about the following , the reality is that no matter what we say and do people see it as “thier club” . So that implies ownership which inevitably leads to selfish decisions.
Simply the current times we live in , have made true altruism as mythical as Zeus and the Minotaurs , which means people either through necessity or social engineering , simply don’t want to concede , let alone do what’s right for the collective . Which means a stalemate of shit being thrown over the fences for the next period of time is the only real way forward z
It’s the same with every single issue in the world . And it sux because our kids are gonna suffer because we are incapable of being able to compromise . I fear the team is destined to be the nrl also rans , like an nrl west ham. Or Everton . Forever meh …

I used to feel the same as you . But watching guys like @Bus 2 Terrigal Lagoon and @BZN , and that guy on social media Stamo , deliberately sow division as if it were sport , and treat it like a game of 1 upsmanship , makes me realise it’s just not possible .
And the weird thing is I’m not even sure they know these people on HBG . It’s like a loyalty to nothing , knowing the years of failure at the club , and the poor judgement of the people running it , are irrelevant to them as long as the idea that wests are getting one over Balmain or something like that .
It’s a weird headspace to be .” I don’t care if clowns are running the show into the ground , they’re my clowns”.

Urgh , your lack of ability to look in the mirror right now…. Seriously . There’s only 1 side . Wests tigers. .
The fact you can’t see there’s a difference between outrage at the position the club is in ( the joke of the league) , and others openly mocking and doing a jig saying things like “we own 90% we can do what we want” , or every issue that comes up “why don’t you march to Ashfield “ , as if they’re the same thing is an indictment on yourself .
There’s no power struggle going on . There’s fans sick of supporting the joke of the league , and others clinging to some inept corporate body who have gone from failure to failure , because they represent the idea of a club that hasn’t really existed in 26 years . I mean the name of HBG FFS implies unity , something they simply aren’t really advocating for .
I honestly don’t get it . Man U can’t stand Radcliffe . Tottenham just got rid of Levy , and want there ownership group to sell for pretty much the same issues as the tigers - the club is run to sustain itself not to make a push and win trophies . Why are people defending a group of people who simply can’t run the club . I would honestly say the same thing about Balmain if they were in charge . Old men with no idea , neeed to move out of the way , and let some new voices in the room .
The way the narrative gets spun is deliberate because if the spotlight is firmly positioned on the real issues - 26 years of failure and no end in sight , then there’s no real thing to debate .
But that’s not what you will reply with . It will be some garbage about the magpies and HBG , a the conversation will shift again . So irritating

In the wake of last December’s fun n games, this forum was awash with alarmist nonsense about our season having been hijacked and the players will be irreparably affected by the drama. How we were going to hell in a hand basket 🥴

Yet here we are - a couple of months on .... I have not seen a more upbeat playing group than the current team who are all 100% behind the coach. Two good wins in the trials and it’s onwards & upwards 👍

Benji is a humble man so his comments that he didn’t deserve the extension show the class of the guy,

Time will tell, but I reckon HBG’s decision to lock down the coach long term will prove to be a master stroke.

Exactly right, HBG blew up.the club again so fans protested. HBG had an opportunity to try and fix it but decided to double down.

The club wasn’t blown up.

In fact I can’t recall a more positive vibe heading into a new season.

You seem to be confusing - having an alternate view to yours, with “sowing division”.

I guess you’d prefer the forum to be an echo chamber.

As someone who doesn’t agree with those who wanted to storm Wests Ashfield and overthrow the club’s hierarchy - to now be accused of sowing division - Mildly amusing 🤣
