TEAM LIST Team vs Storm [Round 10]

Team List
Positional play is also very important for Mason. He will be tested to the max.
A lot of pressure on the guy coming from a poor record at fullback. Thousands of eyes on his every move, waiting to get on the forum and say "Benji, what were you thinking"
Bellamy will have Hughes and Munster testing him on the chip kicks behind the play. Plus, the bombs.
I can only image a disaster as they dismantle him mentally. I don't expect him there the following week.
Our pack needs to excel, a bit of luck and the rub of the green to give us a chance.
As they say-----hope I'm wrong!
We have picked our biggest forwards for this game it looks like blunt force trauma is going to be applied, if we run riot through the middle and make a lot of ground the Storm will be kicking from deep in their own half most of the time.

If this tactic works, they will be kicking long and Mason will have more time to deal with them.

They will be testing our right-side backs again, hope they are ready.

Our depth is good in most positions, however dont have a real backup 9 option. Will be hard to win any games without Api. Cant wait till he is back
The only issue is if API doesn’t change his tackling style he will spend more time on the sideline again this year.
Which will be extremely hard at his age to get the method that he has always used is now getting him into trouble.
I hope he can because he is the main playmaker in this team and the team needs him badly.

I’m worried about Sione playing on an edge (normally big minutes)
defensively coming up against the Storm fullback who has made holes in all defences he has come up against this year.
He is there go to man this year.

When we have the ball run our big dudes at him all day, that should slow him up a bit in attack, we have the bench to replace Sione if he feels the pinch.

One kid I have been waiting to see for a while now makes his debut against us this weekend Hugo Peel kids going to be a Superstar Fullback in 18 months if not sooner he scored 4 try's the other week in the QLD Cup I love it when kids debut hopefully he has a good debut not a great one and remembers the lost always
He made his debut last week (thankfully maybe)

Head to head
STORM - $1.62
Tigers - $2.31

The start is +4.5
The over/under is 55.5

I wouldnt go near this match with someone else's money
I think it’s a bit insulting to us that the Storm are favourites for this. Apart from the hiccup last week we’ve been performing far better than they have and that score line had a lot of mitigating circumstances to it. Clearly we are still not respected

The Storm are busted. I know everyone is waiting for them to come good but I think they’ll be waiting a long time. I can only think they are favourites because of the number of injuries we have. If they are favourites for any other reason, then it is just plain insulting that they expect a completely out of sorts Storm to win, and I hope our boys can use it as motivation to roll them convincingly on Sunday.

Unfortunately many of us a focussing on the wrong things - Melbourne and Mason.

Neither of those will win or lose the game for us. We were beaten by Cronulla because we went away from our system under pressure caused by errors. The whole next man up thing is not about replacing skill - it is about bringing the skills we have to the system and making the system work.

Flush last week - we went away from the system and paid the price.

We work hard on what we can control - our defensive system and how we want to attack the game. Mason has a job to do and he has the skills to do it - is he shaky under the high ball - sure so we need to protect him.

Last week gave us plenty to work on and we have plenty of time to do it. Instead of looking at the how we will fail - look at what Mason and Herbert bring to the side and how their skill sets fit in with our system. Mason has great acceleration - something Tito doesn't - so him sniffing around the second phase play smells like potential points to me. Herbert brings physicality in defence - he also has some attacking flair - he will do fine.

A simple game plan, within the system that has got us to 5 and 3, is workable and can result in a win despite us missing Api, AD and Sam F. We just have to want it!

All of what you say is true however that last 40 minutes last week was so pathetic it will live in my mind for years, those minutes would match the worst football i have endured in my 73 years of life. Some of our players did not seem to try and that is unforgivable at any level of sport.

I like your thinking, Game plan you big dudes run through the front 12 players and make the fullback tackle you, as we need to wear him out.
It’s an easy game 😂
Lol, I thought it would be obvious when we are attacking their goal line O, hopefully our big pack keeps them up their end of the field.

Tigers to beat melbourne at $2.35

If you think the Tigers will win, what about the $3.50 1-12.

It will surprising if they do, Hughes might do a Reynolds on us, an arvo game, Storm desperate, Storm at home, we have many reserve graders in key positions. Its obvious why Storm are favourites.

We are pushing it up hill, if we don't make any errors we are a chance, big ask with inexperienced and average players.

Storm at 1.92 with -4.5 seems more logical.

I dont take margins in general as a better as you have to factor in 2 results that being 1-12 and 13 plus
we could win 13 + and i get nothing.
This way it is one bet i am happy to collect the $2.30

Melbourne are not the team they were last year or previous years.

Again if I did back the storm at -4.5 at $1.92 and they win by 2 i dont get a collect.

As a former price assessor it is generally just head to head betting for me or multis at head to head

another great option is betting on competition results r.g. nrl winner, cricket series winner, EPL NFL etc it is playing a long game but you can get some good prices and you have the ability to lay off as a GF gets closer if you already have a big price taken.

Man I hope Jake Attard comes along soon, because Heath Mason at FB is extremely underwhelming. Gives me very strong Rhys Hanbury vibes - clearly tries hard but lacks flash in any specific rugby league department - not physical, not fast, not a stepper, not strong, not robust, not particularly reliable.

Our preferred starting team has grown to be pretty decent but fullback and backrow stocks are still super thin.
