That is very ordinary, can’t they at least have the Flegg on tomorrow and keep their precious Magpies at Lidcombe.

Not only is it good for the fans but what an experience it would be to play before first grade.

I'm no mind reader but I guess what he is getting at is that HBG have made the decision or made a directive that the KOE team will play at Lidcombe rather than them being a curtain raiser to the NRL game wherever it is practical.

Personally, I thought we were advised a few seasons ago that in the future there would be 1 or 2 games played prior to NRL games where possible.

This has not eventuated and one can only surmise that either there is a lack of cooperation and coordination between the NSWRL and the NRL or that certain organisations like HBG have resisted this and insisted on playing the KOE games at different grounds such as Lidcombe making the previously promised multi game scheduling an almost impossible task.

The NRL are the ones who set the fixtures. Most games these days don’t have curtain raisers. It’s actually a rarity when they do. That’s HBG’s fault?

Not sure who makes the call on the games schedule but you would think where possible you play nrl and reserves even all 3 at the same place , we are the same club and should be rowing in the same direction , it could be those old crows on HBG but I’m not 100% on who can or does make the call ,
 
I agree and said as much before. More bang for buck and likely an increase in crowds and, therefore, coffers.

If we get the games list for the season HBG could have just simply contacted nrl and ask for double ups at grounds you would think , this would be a great thing , I loved going to Leichhardt and watching all 3 grades , was a good day out

They don't set the reserve grade fixtures but what about the commitment that was made a few seasons ago that where possible multiple games to be played on the same day.

It has not happened, so one can only make the assumption that either there has been a lack of cooperation and coordination between the NRL and NSWRL or there is some other factor making it difficult or impossible to implement.

Fair enough if it’s the NSWRL, but the fact remains. Curtain raisers are barely played these days. It’s not some conspiracy to keep the precious Magpies locked in at Lidcombe. It’s across the board. Another charm to the game that’s been lost.
 
Peter Gough has the whistle for today’s game and he is consistently terrible with an obvious dislike of our team.

On a slow track with the dogs inside the ten it’s going to be an arm wrestle. Burtons bombs could be the difference

I think it’s part of the reason why our cup team never really fires. It’s too seperate to our first grade. Also because we employ a part-time head coach.

Cup was originally at Lidcombe today and was changed. Same as it was moved and played after first grade at Campbelltown. It gives the players on extended bench opportunity to play cup rather than no game time.

I agree and love watching early games, however seems not everyone does. Knights Reserve Grade on before NRL today. Saw some of the match on KAYO and very few of the crowd there early to watch.
