Juniors - Pathways General Discussion

That’s a bullshit team if it’s form based . The flegg team are top 2 in the comp . NSW origin at all levels is a boys club . Look at half those players and who they play for and where thier team is on the flegg ladder . All of a sudden Godinet , the starting backrower last year for the Aus team can’t make the NSW team . After being a star for the 2nd best team in u21s is hilarious .
As long as the same people pick teams nsw will always lose .
Godinet has been crap this year. He was lucky not to get dropped from Ball. He's improved a bit since but he's still in no rep form

Wests Tigers pathways players selected for 2026 ASSRL U18 Nationals.

NSWCCC: Jake Gaffney, Kye Penfold
NSWCHS: Iszak Isdale, Jerome Cosgrave

Apologies if I missed any. If not, 4 out of 60 players across the 3 NSW school squads is pretty poor imo.

Just shows how dire our junior stocks are. Never been worse

Bullshit ! I take nothing you say seriously about development . Wests tigers are shit , all the players suck you’re the best , bla bla bla . I’ve never seen you post anything positive . Godinet was meh in ball . But he’s been great in cup and flegg , playing against guys 2-3 years and then some his senior .
To base a nsw team on 8 games in feb, march , April is stupid . Especially with that magpies team which had zero halves and couldn’t get the ball to their edges .
Like I said for a guy who watches so much youth footy , it’s like you watch it with your eyes painted on . Or through “enraged eyes”. It’s crazy

Bro, if you take one hit up in a match, and you're one of the stars of the team, you're not even trying.

I did say Godinets form had gradually improved throughout the year. Overall he's still been underwhelming and has a lot of work to do. I've never written him off, only said he has to knuckle down, stop his social media and coaching crap and just focus on his footy.

And yes not making finals and not developing NRL calibre players is a failure.

I just say things how it is, no sugar coating. We are and have been a laughing stock for a long time. We are desperately underfunded though of course.

Hope they have the physical traits we require for future NRL type players.
Height, speed, natural skills would be good start for developing. Or am I dreaming?
Not much height about them at the moment.
Height helps, but shorter players in the outside backs and in the forwards can overcome it, particularly if they hit too speed quickly when running the ball, similar to Takakai currently at the Sharks and our own Luke Laulilli and Sunia Turuva.

Too busy coaching, making TikTok’s and becoming an author…
Good side earns for good footballers, he might want to spend a bit more time on trying to be one
Comments like these do my head in . Even the most dedicated nrl player who’s on a full time contract would spend max 4-5 hrs a day actually doing things related to thier job . Recovery for the rest. That includes video , rehab , ice baths , hydro pools , stretching/yoga/Pilates and actual fitness/ strength, extracurricular things like school visits etc. he literally spends his spare time running clinics and coahung and you think that’s a bad use of time ? Why because at 18/19 his development is taking a little longer ?
I say this every single week , but some really intelligent guys on here turn thier brain off… . He’s a kid . Let him mature

The prop is, looks like A young Sione, the centre is another little nuggety type. Under 6 foot with chunky legs but decent acceleration
Kingston had a great top-age season in Harold Matts. Arguably the Magpies best player. Thought he was panels better than Monson Hopoate who has been poached by the Bulldogs.

Yeah Kingston is on the shorter side not too short though and only turning 17yo this year so hopefully some more growth. He's a combination of power, speed, agility & skill in attack and very good decision making & aggression in defence for a centre.

We have two very promising centres in Kingston Finau (17) & Glassie Glassie (19) in our ranks, both very similar in type & a highly talanted winger in James Lanyon (18). Hope we can develop all 3 of them successfully.
