I am extremely unhappy with Benji with the way he is selecting our playing roster and for the way he is badly mishandling our developing players, but with the current squad we have, we could have Wayne Bennett or Craig Bellamy coaching us and we would still be struggling due to lack of creativity and lack of ability to score points.
The flow on effect is our defence ends up getting deflated after seeing how poor our attack is throughput games.

It's amazing how many excuses you made fot HBG, but Benji doesn't seem to get any similar leeway. What do you say to that accusation?

Who is selecting our playing roster and game day team ?
I think it’s highly likely if HBG gave instructions for Melekamp to tell Benji we are taking away his authority tj oversee our recruitment and retention tgat Benji would threaten to leave.
So really the only choice is to sit back and hope Benji gets smarter with his decision making, or to sack him and start all over again.

Two recently upgraded contracts that are hurting our salary cap balance due tto the players not having the ability to be even close to value of what we are paying them.
We limit our ability to try and recruit any genuine star players when we keep overpaying bog average players.
If we were paying Bula his true value of our 500k and paying Turuva his true value of around 300k, not only would we have the capacity to recruit and sign much better quality players around them, but if they were under performing it would be no big deal to move Bula to the wing or reserve grade and it would be no big deal to drop Turuva to reserve grade like he was at the Panthers before coming to us.

How you are picking on Turuva is beyond me.

I'd like to also ask how you determine "true value"? Which NRL fullback is being paid 500k?

Have you considered that you are living on a different planet to the rest of us? It sounds beautiful, but is there room for anyone else? Of course, you are always welcome on Earth 🌎...aka...reality.
 
The coach has to cop the heat it goes with the territory and let's face it for every bloke who supports Benji there are those who are very vocal after a loss and quiet when we win.
Whether he stays or goes gets fired, we are still left with a club with a terrible rep and a record that makes it hard to ignore with little to attract anything better than we have got.

You link HBG to team selection to make your argument.

It was about poor management and errors in judgement. HBG seems to have unlimited excuses made for their howlers. Why are you not showing the same loyalty to Benji?

Have you considered our team is not good enough and we are spending the same money as every other club ?
News flash, it means we are not spending our money wisely.

So if you are sitting on a board of a business and that business is not getting the expected results, do you blame yourself or do you blame the people you put in charge to get the right results ?

Who gave an uproven rookie coach a 5 year contract? They don't get away with that, then get to wipe their hands clean and have all the blame is on Benji. Its the Muppets at the top responsible for making horrible decisions.

As much as you hate Richo, he gave Benji the chance to make it work, but it came with caveat that if he didn't perform he was gone. instead of waiting for him to perform, they extended him for 5 years to cover up their ineptness!!!

My loyalty is with Wests Tigers winning enough games to make the top 8 on a regular basis.
The current t roster is not good enough and that is down to Benji and Shaun Miekekamp’s predecessor.
I would not be sacking Benji right now, but he needs to be put on notice to fix our roster within 12-18 months, otherwise he will have to go.

Benji seems to blame himself every press conference then continues to pick the same bone head players with the same bench rotations every game

The coach in any sport gets the blame for missing the finals …normally 3-4 years of failure is the maximum until getting the boot …. Given our dysfunction and struggles to find a good replacement , and no good in house candidates ,,.I’d give him one more year ,,

As Benji tells us every week in the PC… the poor play of the team “that’s on me”..

Benji has to fix the coaching staff - again. The assistant level is not working. Either that or the main coach is not working. Our defence has collapsed, our attack remains pretty much clueless. However our fitness seems better but injuries need some magic wand. Not sure whether shoulder pads and head gear is the answer for all but we got to do something to lessen our need on very poor depth.
