I really thought Newcastle had paid overs for Brown, but he is playing much better for them than he did with Parramatta. With Luai it’s the complete opposite, he played much better at Penrith than he has with us.
It’s all about the right fit and Luai is just the wrong fit for us. Of course, you can’t know that when you’re paying good money to lure a big name player over to a club. It’s a gamble, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s worked well for Newcastle, lucky them.

Because Penrith were in a position to pay him 700k and that was his worth at the time. If we offered Luai 700k he would laugh at us
It’s sad, but our clubs position makes us pay overs for guys like Luai

Brown took Parra to multiple top 4 finishes and a grand final, he’s no slouch
Anyways Newy bought Brown to win a comp, he’s definitely got time on his side + Ponga, Best and a few other handy players

They are both getting paid far far far too much.
I don’t rate either as elite yet thats how they are being rewarded.
I think Brown is more threatening but a bit like Luai probably doesn't do enough on field for the $$$ being paid.

Think regarding Luai he's done his job here off the field, wish we could move him onto the bears to help with their debut season.
Hope that doesn't ruffle feathers, if it does tough titties.

Excellent point BD22, he actually threw his hat in the ring along with Flanagan when we were looking for a coach. Didn’t seem to rate much of a mention coz everyone was in love with Benji !
Has certainly turned the Knights around but they have some good players on their roster , and that certainly helps.
As you would know I am a value for money type of bloke and if the rumours are true and we will be paying Junior no more than 150-200k next season, I am quietly confident we will get value for money out of him.
Dylan Brown is a 400k better player than Luai.
The good news is Latu Fainu has plenty of similarities to Dylan Brown and could be our saviour.

He has, but give us their 1-5 and Dylan Lucas and I reckon Benji would have us comfortably in the top 2.

I gotta tell ya..I’m tired of having low confidence outside backs with bad hands at this club …the money saved won’t matter to me if he is costing us results ,,,maybe he will be the one that turns it around …but they are traits that are hard to overcome …Skelton has played a lot for us this year , so if he is taking his spot we are going to see a bit of him …
I must admit I didn’t think Holbrook was much of a coach after the Titans sacked him. They had made the finals with him once, but it pretty much went downhill for them from there. I certainly didn’t think he would do much with the Knights either let alone bring them from the wooden spoon to top 4 in one season!
God if only we could have a fairytale rise like that once in a while, instead of floundering around like a turtle on its back year after year.

Benji has Api, May, KPP, Sam F, AD, Luai, Turuva and Bula.
Plenty of talent, comparable, if not more so than what Holbrook has.
sad fact is we kind of did - that's all this club can offer

Yes, I have really warmed to the culture over the past 2 weeks. No more high fiving try celebrations, AD pulled off a miracle yesterday and got the reception of a KKK who’d invaded an island hangi !
