I feel like alot of people are channelling their frustrations with the club (this year and all those prior) into the situation with AD.

He let us all down against Canberra, but it isn't his fault we have failed miserably again this year. If anything, I think he cares sooooo much, and thats why he was irrational and emotional. It got the better of him.
 
AD has made his bed now he has to lie in it. He hasn't got away with anything - if anything he has put a huge target in his back.
The players and coach have a relationship with him unlike fans who see him more like a commodity - useful until he isn't.
If Benji/players choose to move on and get on with it then it is the most mature action and shows that they value him.
They cant control what people from the outside looking in will make of it.

It is fair to note that for AD's most recent contract there wasn't the typical Moses bullshit, so the manager can take instructions from the player.

I agree Isaac is a shit stain on the nrl . Unfortunately whilst Benji is here , especially whilst Benji lacks the runs in wins and losses , will this stuff continue . I don’t think any other new coach has had to battle a manager undermining him at every turn , as ell as the usual club bullshit . And HBG … the sooner we are rid of them the better.
I genuinely wish they’d sell to the fans like the greenbay packers.

Not at all, I think for all the talk of standards at the club there is none.

The culture is clearly rotten otherwise we don't loose 9 of our last 11 in the manor we lost them.

After Benji and ADs version of hear no evil, see no evil speak no evil everyone is rushing to pat them on the back.

The reality is they both have extensive media training which has proven to be wildly successful in pulling the wool over everyone's eyes.

No one saying burn AD at the stake but proportionate consequences were appropriate such as coming back through cup.

The excuse of the importance of winning this week is also garbage....

It was important to win against the dragons, warriors, Bulldogs and raiders when our season was actually still alive ....

But hey AD is sorry.....

Why can his team mates and coach forgive him, but you cannot? There is clearly more to it what we are not aware of.

It's not about forgiveness, take the emotion out of it...

It's about standards and culture along with accountability...

Words are none of those things and the reality of life is their are consequences for the actions we take.

Letting him off Scott free sends a poor message.

There is no way the team has forgiven him, some player maybe but mostly it's been a show for the camera.

You reckon Terrell is happy with the leaked vaping crap ... Our performances indicate there are massive issues within the playing group....
 
Doueihi’s actions remind me a bit of Ryan Matterson who decided to sit out a game or two when his team needed him, rather than paying the paltry fine so he could be available. He never recovered from that and faded into oblivion afterwards, despite being a handy player for many years. Hope that doesn’t happen to Doueihi, but he certainly hasn’t done himself any favours.

💯 it could all be crocodile tears and blow up again . I personally saw his face and the little keys in his voice . It sure did read like a guy who genuinely regretted his actions. .
Matterson never once gave me the impression of a guy who gave a shit about anything other than himself . It’s to this point I have hope that AD is willing to do the work and rebuild . Time will tell .

Who says he got let off Scott free? I don’t know who reported it , but someone reported that Benji has told AD his future is at 13. It might even have been on here . Just because he’s got the 7 now … come the game against the cowboys I reckon Latu will be wearing it .
I genuinely think he’s wearing the 7 because madden can’t tackle and is out , and Javon simply isn’t ready yet .
And it’s too this when Latu takes the 7 we will see if AD was full of shit . Until then …. Also who’s to say there’s not some punishment he has to do for this . Like wear a dress at the end of season . It might sound trivial . But who knows what’s happened internally .
 
Good culture in the NRL is measured by success/talent. Funny how some of even the best clubs under admired coaches have had their most talented of players guilty of letting their club team down by their choices -some illegal and if frowned upon by society.
NRL is a reflection of young society - sometimes tempted/responsible for poor choices and that happens across all clubs. When it happens in clubs at the bottom of the table it's a culture problem.

If it were me I would've insisted I go down for a week; both of them should have!

That would be setting and maintaining a "standard".

Yes, we all fk up. But we all also at least do something resembling substance to regain the faith.

Whatever the case, this looks to everyone as though he's just allowed to carry on as usual. And hey, fk that kid whose debut was completely overshadowed by it...

I really don't care what his reasons were. I don't care if he is right and it had the desired effect.

One week in KOE and we're good. But nope...

This is not "leadership" of any sort from either party.

This is setting precedent. A terrible one.

We don't truly know if he has been penalised, but that's the point.

One week in KOE and the world knows he's done at least something.

The press conference was handled well tbh. I believe the two of them however it shows Benjis inexperience and AD being a problem to manage. The bigger issue is leaks to the media and it highlights how wrong we were to get rid of Richo. The club has no control.
