Sterlo with the Winfield Cup

The Parramatta Eels, with halfback Peter Sterling winning the Clive Churchill Medal, snapped Canterbury's three-peat Premiership bid in '86 with a 4-2 victory in the Grand Final.

It would be the third and final Winfield Cup the Eels would win between '82-95, but overall it would be their 4th Premiership in 6 years - '81, '82, '83 and '86.

sorry to pollute this thread ,but a pub test will prove time n again all R League lovers /Fans want an early game.
Don't see how they make money advertising "the game" when most are switched off
Surely sponsors are not that stupid, which its all about

Good photo, the scissors relates to an incident where Fairfax was banned from the Easts Leagues Club coz his hair was deemed too long.
Artie jokingly got a pair of scissors so Fairfax could join the GF celebrations later that evening !
