2026 Rugby League World Cup fixtures - October/November

Kangaroos are coasting so far. Not a great performance tonight, but did what they had to do. Still ran 6 tries in.
Tommy leaving his wing open for 3 tries is a worry though. Would have much preferred Milky as the specialist.

I wonder how many of the players in this world cup outside of France are born in Australia or have played in Australia after age 12.

I understand why and what the RLIF is trying to do and see if peeks interest in all these countries, but I don't see anything really happening for a long time.

superleague is broke, Nzrl doesn't have any real competitive comps, ARL is doing everything.

I don't know what the answer is, seeing all the countries proudly represented in Australia is quite awesome. Lebanon vs Tonga, the music, the drums, the culture was great to see.

It's not really a world cup, it's just Aussie Tongans vs Aussie Samoans vs Aussie Lebanese etc..

Mate its a shit go that out of all the Australian wingers in the NRL we put a fullback on the wing who has missed a fair amount of games with injuries.you should have played in a position for at least 1/2 the season to be selected to represent your state or Country in that position.

Picture Mick Potter telling Manly's Wakeham to kick long to Turbo cause he is shittest player on the other team.

I am OK with the result, especially Kevvie leaving that scumbag Mitchell on the bench for not bothering to sing the National Anthem - Don't Sing, Don't Play.
Or you could respect someone's decision (reasons) not to sing it and move on pretty quickly. Free speech is free speech, this is Australia not North Korea.

It's authoritarianism to say to play for your country you have to sing the national anthem, a bit bizzare really.

True VZ but to not sing it, especially with the massive amount of money his people get from the government, is offensive to me, and many others, I’d say to all of them why don’t you want to sing ? All the other countries are proud and passionate, but not us, if we paid you extra would you sing ?
Look at the Gold Coast captain who sold his soul for $40k. Wouldn’t have accepted him in a million years.
The whole thing makes me realise that these over pampered players have no real heart about them ( except maybe Yeoh and Teddy).

I agree to a point. When you talk about the money “his” get from the government then I guess we need to think about how much “our” governments paid for the land we live on.

I can only assume you’re Mexican, given that you’re using the forum name Viva Zapata. If you’re not Mexican, that comment makes no sense.

Do you sing the Mexican national anthem?

Have you actually seen what we pay proportionate to the size of the indigenous population. I do not want to get into a discussion about race here, we’re all Australians but I personally think Mitchell is a pompous arsehole who thinks he’s above the game. With more than a few mates.
I would just like to think they ran on, lined up, and sang their guts out for our country and not lip sync.
I watched the Melbourne Victory / South Melbourne Australia Cup final on TV and 30,000 Greeks and Italians sang their guts out for our anthem like I’ve never heard it before. Coz it meant something to them.
We have 20 overpriced footballers who have no passion imo. That’s what really stinks.

Origin has killed the international game. They don't like playing with each other I think that's fairly evident.

Yes I am well aware of what we pay. No much for the land we live on - no treaty, no nothing. I agree entirely what you say about Mitchell. He has been excused for years and plays apon it. As an old school teacher I believe that you sing the anthem or don’t play - it’s part of pulling on jersey and shows great disrespect.
League players are no different to lots of other feted sports heroes in lots of sports overpaid, over exposed in media

We don't have freedom of speech in Australia. Never ever have. It isn't embedded in our Constitution. A point that the Yankee eSafety Commission made very clear when challenged over a perceived threat to our online rights. There's a moot point regarding freedom of political opinion, but that has a bit to do with a UN resolution that is meaningless if the Nation's Laws say so! But thanks to Albo, we will all soon be affected by online censorship & then what's next? Interestingly, the Muslim Nurses from Bankstown, are trying to use the implied freedom of political opinion as a means to appeal their case to the High Court. There's trouble for Labor cos if the Nurses win then the Internet censorship will be Gonski, but if they lose Albo's Muslim Vote may be affected.

But back to the Anthem. Did you see the tears of Joy streaming down the Fijian players' faces? A Polynesian Christian Country that parked the Racial BS Years ago. Their National Anthem was sung by an Indian girl.

Sadly, Australia, which was once the most Egalitarian Nation on the planet, is being deconstructed by the Left. United we stand, divided we fall. What part of that truth is so difficult to understand? You are about to play a game of International Footy, and you are in a team of Australians - United we stand for OUR Country - or Divided, we may as well go play Solitaire.

The wording in the Anthem was changed - didn't Trell get the memo? Off the field, he can believe what he wants. Meanwhile, All Lives Matter.

I make no apologies for this spray other than to say if you are offended by reality, take a Bex and have a lie down.

Lolohea preferred over Latu by Kristian Wolf.

I know the dummy half from Tonga kept going Right so Latu couldn't get as involved but Wolf is a good coach, he would have seen that too.

Based on his efforts off the ball, amount of injuries and the fine for coming late last year, I just feel like Latu still has long ways to go before becoming a reliable 80 minute player. I don't know if it's lack of professionalism or immaturity, or maybe I'm just looking too into it.

When he has the ball, he's classy, but when you can only touch the ball 15x a game, you need to do a lot more off the ball..
