Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

a couple of things
murray / mason / sukkar all on absolute peanuts, you need these players to balance the cap

lots to shake out a few players still have the green light to talk to others, that could still free up roster spots for 2027

players i would consider available, douehi / hunt / seyfarth / herbert (yes i know, this deal was done when solo was told he was free to leave)

we have $ , im just hoping the wheels fall off at the dolphins and we offer izzy the bank

If those 3 players get NRL contracts then that should be the end of Gallant/Benji/Richards.

Inexcusable incompetence.

They are not NRL calibre players, even at the cheap end. Train and trial or development contracts, perhaps, absolutely under no circumstances can we afford to water spaces on players whom clearly have nothing to offer to the squad.

So has Schuster officially left the club?

[balmain boy]

I don’t think she’d want a 3 year contract. She keeps saying in interviews how much she wants kids. She retire and come back to Australia soon anyway.

She's just at the start of her career. She's another 10 years from retirement.... 😂😂😂

[mtd#2]

Read somewhere that Paseka is looking for $900k...
Hes like May in just below SOO level.who is on same sort of $$$
Not sure thats where we need to invest
Rather have some hard running young blokes tbh

The money needs to go into a proper #7.
If we were throwing the money at cleary, may as well have a crack at walker.

[balmain boy]

Hopefully the speed remains with the extra size.

I'm sure it would, he'd be 85-90kgs. He's not a big guy

Very harsh on Sukkar there. Considering our poor depth in the backrow he is an important keep at minimum wage.

Have you seen much of him BB?

I haven't so i dont want yo be a critical, but my gut tells me he is a Kannaan type junior. Strong and fast for his age but not much depth to his talent and wont progress to NRL.

[balmain boy]

I would offload Royce Hunt. Doesn’t play enough mins to get value for money.

Keep Seyfarth, need those effort players.

We have lots of forwards that can play big minutes, very few that can run powerfully, break the line and build momentum

It doesn't matter if he only plays 30 mins a week, that's all.we need from him.

Murray 100% will never be a consistent NRL player, Mason might get there but Sukkar definitely needs to be kept. He improves every year and a lot of time has been invested in him, to much to throw away now.

Fogarty is a better classical halfback than Doueihi, I don't think its close...

I'd offer a direct swap

[Tito Santana]

Both you and @Tito Santana can't see the forest for the trees. Just like Tyson, Mann and Jayden, Jamal is not a long term option for the club.

We have to stop thinking in one year increments. If Benji continues to wheel in retirees, he'll be the first to go.

I don’t believe I made positive comments on the other three.

There is a lack of decent half backs in the game. Fogarty is one. Would enable whoever our six is to play accordingly and spread the ball wide.

Fogarty is 32. Still should have some miles in his legs. If it forces out AD so be it.

[Tito Santana]

No,we need a good 7. Fogarty is not a good 7

Ok tell me a decent 7 on the market we genuinely could get now. Cleary is a pipe dream.

Manly are trying to shed players, their cap is under pressure.

If I had ro answer your question I guess I would say Walker, possibly Dearden with the rumours. But thats just to answer your question. My point wasnt about who is out there, its about Fogarty as an individual. We already have a Fogarty at the club on minimum wage, why go and buy another one for 5 times the price?

That being said, if we do sign him then ok, its not the worst. I guess we then have cohesion across first grade and second grade with Jamal/Latu and Jock/Javon. Like for like so we can lock both grades into the exact same playing style

And I’m all for it!

Clearly will also never be the same player again after the operation on both legs. So the 9 mil won't add up, buy NRL standard forwards they are more rare and injury prone and need more depth for.

When you think about Fogarty being on twice as much money as AD then the swap offer could actually appeal to them. Not that I would do it, but it seems feasible to me.

[Darty the winger]

So has Schuster officially left the club?

Who said he has left ?

[Tito Santana]

Is Manly feeling the damage of too many Isaac Moses clients again?

I’d take Fogarty, Paseka and Nathan Brown with Manly chipping in ATLEAST half of their wages.

I haven't seen Doueihi's contract but with his extension you'd expect the money's been increased, from memory it was done in March when it looked like he was given the nod as a half.
