Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You mean all the same stuff you could've read on the Forum when he was with us?
A half has to have the potential to do damage with the ball in his hands.
Hastings makes decisions easy for the defence.

I don't need to read them, I wrote them...
He wasn't the answer here...
Don't think he had much to do with the Knights form last year either (Despite the praise here)
It's like saying Daniel Mortimer was the Catalyst for the Parra Run in 09... Just False!!

As I said, He tried - I don't wish him ill,

In the words of the immortal Paul Kent "Whatever the knock on Jackson is, It travels everywhere he goes"
I'm interested to see how it goes when he gets called back (And he will)
and where they play him...

agree think Sullivan will be a 500k Magpies player but at the time the club had no Brooks and an injured AD and at that stage were not sure on getting Luai
club needs to offer up Sullivan and take the hit and move him on at end of the year maybe we need to pay 300k of his 500k to move him off the books
Yep. If we thought Luai was a genuine chance the club surely wouldn't have got Sullivan.

It’s amazing how fast everyone turns. Sullivan wss built up the whole off season as being one of a spoiled amount of options to potentially partner Luai. One game in, he’s been binned. Same goes for Seyfarth. Had developed a little cult following back in February. Now he‘s friendless.

Sullivan has always shown a bit of promise.... Seyfarth on the other hand

i feel like we are doing typical tiger fan things with these kids. One game best player ever next worst player ever. Galvin played well for his first game now he is the messiah and our only future. Bud played bad worst player ever will play cup for the next 4 years. Just give the boys a sample size before you set up their career.

But still a bench plodder though right?
Bit better than that imo, quite often plays at a higher intensity in short spurts. That would indicate stamina the problem.
But definitely not dynamic and if that equals plodder then you are correct and I’m wrong.
Let’s take another look this weekend as he’s coming off the bench.

I don't mind him, He doesn't bother me at all....
Just isn't the saviour most here gave him credit for.
He doesn't have the confidence to play at a consistent level in the N.R.L.
But he is highly respected in the English Super League where there isn't the same high level of pressure.
Some people just can't handle high pressure, and we have to understand and respect that.

Looking at our deficiencies, my wishlist to recruit for next season are ... Zac Lomax (right centre), Jazz Tevaga (lock or bench utility to cover lock/hooker), James Schiller (wing) & Euan Aitken (bench utility for backrow/centre).

Lomax, Tevaga & Aitken would bring experience & all reportedly lead efforts in training. Tevaga would be a club replacement for Simpkin & provide relief for Api during the game, allow TDS to continue to build reps in Cup. Aitken low cost like-for-like for Kepaoa.

Schiller brings speed, x-factor & power. We should be in a position to offer more than Raiders to bring him across.

Galvin, Sullivan and Fainu have their future in their hands and its the hunger games at Concord.
LOL 😂 .. for the fans as well !! But seriously it’s like people on this forum have already forgotten the boom rating on Latu Fainu, this kid has the same type of hype on him coming through the juniors as a Kalyn Ponga, and I believe he has similar potential and upside .. he is just as athletic, just as talented with the ball and is also tough and has already played a test match, and held his own .. this club has found itself with what I believe is a situation similar to Canberra in 87 when they had Daley and Clyde arrive from juniors as Ricky Stuart was signed ( Luai ) .. Latu and Galvin and the Laulilli boys and TDS who grew up wanting to be a Tiger can set the scene for Onitono Large and his similarly talented little brother Ashton Large and Makasini are all ELITE level talent .. I think Richo may be able to manage all of this and turn this club Into a powerhouse. We have 3 junior nurseries and the Campbelltown area and the kids that grow up out there have so much potential if it can be developed to it’s ability.. I really think the Tigers are at the crossroads right now and an extremely bright future is beckoning !

Why not?

I'm amazed at how quickly people have forgotten about Latu - he was hailed as the messiah when first signed.
We will need them both in our top 13 by 2025 at the latest.

For me:

6. Fainu
7. Sezer/Luai 2025
13. Galvin

Fill the rest of the forwards with more Stef/S Fainu body types.

Too early to move Galvin yet though.

For this season by the end of the year I expect to see both Galvin and Fainu as our halves. Normally young halves are a recipe for disaster but both of these guys have very good footy brains already.

Lomax and/or Schiller would be great, but both of them heavily favour playing right centre. I think there is more upside to Schiller and he’d come a lot cheaper.
I also like the idea of Tevaga as a regular 14 who brings energy to his team off the bench and as you say can play 13 or give Api a break and play 9. Da Silva is our future, but another 12 months playing mainly NSW Cup with the occasional NRL appearance should only do him good for when he is eventually our starting number 9.
I like Aitken versatility, but don’t think he plays with the high intensity that he once did. I’d be keeping a close eye on Aaron Schoupp as someone who can play centre or back row.
Billy Burns who is on the bench for the Sharks against us this week is another who is currently off contract at the end of 2024 and is a very mobile big bodied back rower who can easily cover playing in the centres, he too could be one to watch to potentially add size, speed and value to our squad.

They are probably trying to preserve any sanity they have left by not being involved in reading the depressing WTF.
Maybe they decided to ditch WT and follow a team that gives them some enjoyment.
That would make them unloyal in my book haha

Latu is a very highly regarded junior and exceptionally talented in his own way, but not close to Ponga in terms of athleticism.
I was speaking to a friend that worked with the family at Blacktown and he believes Sam is the most talented. I'm yet to see it and must say I wasn't overly impressed with Sam on an edge for them last year, but he says Sam through the middle and allowed to use his skill, not just his power, will be a revelation. Most skilful forward he has come across was the quote.
