Our 9 is as good as any, better than most. But this is countered with the13 as poor as any, worse than most.
Despite the criticism of them on here, i believe we've 2 decent enough backrowers. However id not be able to rate them as better than any other club. I'd suggest just about every club has one better than either of our 2. (Nikora, Katoa, Young, Nanai, Kaufusi, Martin, Capewell, Olakuatu, Crichton, Piakura, Sua, Frizzell, Kikau, Fifita, Koloamatangi). A lot of clubs also have a 2nd as good or better than either of ours.
That leaves our front row pairing. Again our two are decent enough but hard to see many teams they are clearly better then. Dogs the only obvious pick. Could make a case against Rabbitohs, Titans, Dragons and possibly Sharks. Thats about it.

So i see our top 6 forwards as worse than most. How do you see them?

Don't disagree with those thoughts. Definitely need to get Fainu more time, and maybe try to squeeze in an early release for Matamua and replace with a solid enough back rower from somewhere. I'm assuming current work to fill the remaining vacant squad position is for a speedy, tall backline player.

Edit I wouldn't be surprised if Bateman finished up end of season and heads back to ESL for a swansong. His family is there and he obviously misses them and wants to be with them. Noting his long absences in off season to visit, which does disrupt our preparations.

Why did Matamua cut his hair???? Big mistake...and Kepoa??? Its not like they be working in an.office come Monday.morning 9am. Dont they read the bible????

Did you like how he hit the hole and scored for us yesterday ?
When was the last time you saw Johnny or Isaiah do that ?
I know some will come out and say Johnny is a great defender blah blah blah, watch each NRL game each week and you will understand what an important part the edge forwards from each team, plays in their teams attack.

Also so can you tell us why Benji keeps playing with 15 or 16 men ?
Api looked like he needed an oxygen mask a few times throughout the game and instead kept Simpkin warming the bench ?

there were a number of individual performers people are going to point fingers at but the collective attitude of the team wasn’t good enough. our attack is so sideways and pedestrian that we are all waiting anxiously for an 18 year old to come back and straighten us up. that is a major concern.

defensively there was always going to be issues given there were injuries and therefore less cohesion but some of the first up contact from what I could see at the game was diabolical. that once again comes down to intent.

I was at the game too. Disappointing to not get a win, or to even come close. It was a poor performance - not one deserving of a sell out! Hopefully fans continue to show up.

API should be getting up the other forwards, the bloke is nearly in every tackle no wonder he has no legs to create anything for the team , as for Benjamin and the other coaches, why did it take 65-70 minutes for the team to get deep and run onto the ball , did Benji not sent out instructions or they didn’t carry them out , it was a very poor effort, we need more hard nose forwards , our pack lack mongrel ,
 
From the first moments their pack totally dominated..but the real killer was their offloads.

Separately,our backrow is living on reputation..Batemans a shadow of what he was at Canberra,and Paps just unfit for an edge
Pole is a prop..too imobile for13....Samuela shld slot str8 in to starting pack somewhere

If Lee and Pascoe were still here they’d probably launch some merchandise to take advantage of a 3 peat 😂 Wouldn’t matter that it was a 3 peat for the wooden spoon.

We did see Klem and Stefano fire up in the later pert of the game.
Im not buying Gould’s explanation of stage fright. He claims that we can’t get it together in front of big crowds. Or is it Campbeltown Stadium? Where we’ve lost our last 9 games? We get it together at LO, our record at the 8th is great.
Does Gould have a point?
Are we homeless? Does it sit in the back of your mind as a distraction?

Yes but has the apathy already set in....I don't know what it is with this team/club, they just don't seem to be able to keep up the intensity. You would think that the two wins would have given them a bit of incentive but that doesn't seem to have happened..
 
Our squad is limited and we are short on depth - we all knew this before the season began . Bottom half teams are consistently inconsistent. - and to be fair at the moment very few squads are playing well week in week out - hence opening opportunity for all teams to Jag some wins if you turn up
Galvin is the most interesting and unexpected addition this season and whether he will be able to maintain the form of two stellar performances and or whether teams will up their targeting of him to nullify his performance.
