OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Why not all 4, we could use a serviceable half, a second rower, a top notch centre and someone with a decent kick that can play a couple of positions.
🤣

We'll get the usual nothing and it will be sold to the fans as a good deal.

Personally I want him to rot here in reggies and see out his contract, at the very least we would gain some respect from at least 14 other clubs for digging in and it wouldn't be unmanageable dollar wise, but I think we all expect nothing like that to happen, we'll just cop it up the butt as usual. 😡
Well, if he didn't tank last week, he's been doing a lousy job of hiding it all year. Either that or he quite simply is not the Wunderkind after all. I've called him a ball hog and that's all I see, Benji saw it at the boot camp - watch again as Benj tries to explain Leadership & communication to the halfwit!

I would love for him to go to the dogs. He will destabilise that club real quick. Gould has been touting him as a franchise player, a player you build a team around. Crichton, burton, and the rest of the bulldogs team will be pissed at comments like that given how they are going. This kid would be winning the most overrated player award if RLweek was still running the player poles.

As long as we get something back for Galvin going early, who cares? His head and heart isn't here anymore. Need to move on....but not for nothing. Player swap or transfer fee - geez didn't the Bulldogs pay Dolphins $500k for Karl Oloapu??

I have mixed feelings if he is gone or getting a release.

I would like to see us have a back bone and stand up for a contract and play him off the bench #18 if we get Latu back and him and JL fire as I expect.
2027 he can play anywhere he wants.
I know it is impressive for a 19 year old to be playing first grade and he is a very fit player with solid skills, but to say he is a generational player at this stage is laughable.
GUS saying he is the best he has ever seen is just how we all see it, an attempt to use his position in the media to skirt around the recruitment of a contracted player. Fittler, Daley, SBW , Brasher were be better at his age.

He could also be in the same mould as Ash Taylor , Dave Taylor , etc where he has shown what he has and cashes in now and becomes average to poor as he doesn’t have speed or a kicking game along with his passing needing work.
He was a second rower in the HM team so I believe he will end up in the forwards and he will need to learn how to tackle and put on some size which should happen naturally as he ages , however speed will not improve with him getting heavier.

Unless we get.a good deal, I say welcome to #18 not reserve grade.

It is a case of do we hold you to the contract or release/trade him early West Tigers will not win either in the court of public opinion and that is a fact. Trade him to Parra and get Charlie Guymer and Sam Tuivaiti for him. Trade him to the Bulldogs and get Blake Wilson and drew Hutchinson in return.

If the club wants to gain something substantial out of releasing Galvin, they better act quickly. His value in the market place must be on a rapid slide as clubs become aware he is a long way off the real deal and potential is not worth a million dollars a season.

Like others I hate seeing Moses once again screw us over and win and would rather see him rot in reserve grade for a year and a half but in reality that doesn’t help our club to get stronger and more competitive. I think the bye round will see plenty of things happening around Camp Concord and let’s hope it’s positive

Who cares about public opinion anymore, the public has an extremely short attention span now days. Guaranteed once it’s all done and often even before it’s done, the next nrl story comes along.

As long as we are winning games no one will give two shits. We just need to find better players.

I see it this way
Benji and Richo meet , Benji says mate this is not working , Galvin played shit , runs sideways all day and spoils it , team mates are not happy , it’s time to move him on ,
Richo , thank Christ , media going to have field day if action goes to court , to much negativity around , il go to the board and get the nod to move him on now , I got a couple up my sleeve ,
Board , yes piss him off BUT we need something so we don’t look like piss weak run business , Richo ok il offer him up for $ 350 k fee plus he can’t play against us this year ,
Richo meets Mosses the grub , Hay shit head find a club for your spoilt little shit and bring me $ 350 k for him and he can’t play against us in 2025 in NRL main game , Mosses na to much Richo ok see you !piss off I don’t want to hear what you are going to offer , il find my own players for this club not you , I have great relationship with other managers il just call them and say Tigers looking for a prop , second row , centre and lock , send any interest my way and keep it quiet or no deal , also don’t let the door hit your ass on way out dick head and shit head is at Lidcombe oval this week due to poor game last week , coach feels he needs to go back to reserves and work on his game 😁

Too much emotion from fans which is to be expected. If he wants to leave and a club really wants him, treat it like a business transaction and demand something back.
100% the fans are carrying on like bitches.
This kid can play the game, he absolutely has the talent and temperament for first grade.
This club has done him wrong by throwing him to the wolves last year and catering to his every want. He hasnt progressed as a player and this is one of his reasons for wanting out.
Additionally, he has not stabbed this club in the back.
He made it very clear - even before he debuted - that this wasnt his forever club. He has tried to get out a few times before and after he making first grade, showing a distinct lack of enthusiasm for what we are doing here.
On that topic, people say he is blaming Benji. He is not. He is off the entire system. He doesnt trust it and who are we to argue? He has been in that system for a few years now and watched the shit going on behind the scenes as we collected spoon after spoon.
Rightly or wrongly, his price tag is overinflated. This is an opportunity for us to cash in. The going rate is a million. You want him early, cough up the equivalent.

The timing of this is interesting. We play our last game in a 14 day break this Sunday.
It is about 6 weeks out from the June 30 deadline.
Monday is the first day of our bye week.
Latu should be back fit come our next game.
The board can meet at anytime really to discuss Galvin with Richo.
However doing it on day 1 of our bye week is intentional and could possibly lead to an immediate release.
Say the following scenario plays out.
1. Nothing comes from it, everyone has a break and gets back to it.
2. Galvin and his management is offered immediate rights to negotiate a new deal for 26 meaning can sign after the 10 day right of reply window.

How does the 2nd half of the season play out? Is it any different if they were to make a decision regarding all this at the end of the season. For mine, no if the intention is to keep Galvin in the top spot for the remainder.

I still think say nothing until October 30 and release Galvin on that day. Ridding us of next years 350k deal and removing us of the who will he sign with drama allowing the preseason to start fresh without it.

I am on Team Galvin, but has he actually had a 'good' game this year. To me:

very average/poor performances
Storm - very poor
Dragons - very average
Sharks - veryaverage (one good offload and a tackle....but made a lot of bad options and kicks and plays)
knights away - very poor

not sure
dolphins - i can't remember?
broncs - think he played okay?

good games
parra - played well
He has 10 Dally M points, the same as Bula.
I personally dont see it, but yes, people think he is playing ok.
