Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The Roosters, Bulldogs, Broncos, Storm seem to master these 3rd party deals.
Hopefully Richo is thinking of if I can’t beat them, join them ?
I think you will find that they are way smarter than to dabble in this sort of caper. They off things like the provision of financial advice, discounted rates for fianancial management and brown paper bags etc. Loose lips sink ships and it would only take one slip to have a salacry cap investigation for a dodgy TPA.

What we don't know is what our players are getting from Pepper Money in doscounted services, investment "advice" etc.

That would be OK; if we made a deal with AD. However, if the deal meant Wests Tigers could offer "unders" then it is a breach. There has to be complete separation of the the third party and the club. For example; we couldn't chat with Richo and say that if AD signs for X tell him that we'll top him up with a thrid party advertising deal worth 100K; but,, we could approach AD directly, or post contract signature, and offer him an 100K advertising deal as a means to increase our market exposure. While similar in nature it is the invovement of the club that differentiates what is and isn't included in the cap.
comprenday ,get your point now ,thanks. But im still sure i can 3rd party a player ,being a non member fan

I don’t think so. I would guess all, or almost all, clubs are illegally in touch with 3rd parties to arrange deals for their players. Parramatta just got caught from ~10 years ago that they were involved in arranging an illegal deal for Anthony Watmough. The evidence came out during the winding up of the said company. Same with Mark Gasnier when his brother sued him. The evidence was presented in court how the Dragons were illegally involved in arranging these payments ~15 years ago.

Dragons: It's understood the Dragons were chasing Doueihi for the same reason, with the club still looking to replace Jack de Belin who will depart for the Parramatta Eels at the end of the year.

The club have signed Josh Kerr and are also looking to add Trey Mooney from the Canberra Raiders for 2026.

** Trey Mooney is a guy i'd like to see us have a crack at from the Raiders.
Trey might obey is perfect for us, he’s the lock we need. Richo better pull his thumb out and start chasing. He’s already been ti the knights tour, and he’s originally from there!

Over to you Merlot, what recruit are you chipping in for ?
A bruising prop , top notch center .Cant see were we get them from , hard rc'd is not in this gen's vocabe. Bula is a slow learner . We have a very good young side that is clicking ,learning to win , Api n Luia are on good money to teach, suffer the losses . Over all i like we stocked up on young2ndRwr/s ( we do have a very young team over all) , the fat club can morphe into any position in time

Form generally indicates multiple games in a row.
Well, I am using the 3 games this year where he played at half as an indicator of his ability to play the position. He didnt luck his way through those 3 games. He worked hard, got himself in the middle, took charge and directed the team.

The next few weeks will be interesting to see if he can back it up.. if the team can actually..

abacus has us in there

I also have extreme doubt Doueihi will handle the extra defensive workload when we are under the pump, but from an attacking book of view it’s very clear Luai functions better with a 13 as functional 1st receiver and it’s looking like that might also be the case for Latu.
It seems easy, but there is not too many players who can play this role well, particularly for 80mins and probably the reason why the Bulldogs have chosen to have players share their number 13 role.

Dead right. I still struggle to Imagine him just as an out and out lock too. Watching him slip off opposition outside backs in one on one situations has given me ulcers this year, but maybe in the middle it'll be more painful but less technically and positionally complicated for him.

It's just nice to know we have depth, and a bit of competition for spots too.

Your take on TPA are incorrect.

TPAS are between player and a third party and can not be influenced or have anything to do with the club. Using a TPA as a lever to get a player to sign for less is a breach of the salary cap rules. Putting them in touch with a financial advisor etc isn't. I'm not going to say that there aren't "arrangements" made that breach the cap rules but any admission would be stupid as a club would be in breach.
Didn’t Richo say they had a deal with large car manufacturer for Galvin.

Na, wasn't it mentioned... Moses isn't his agent just an advisor or something.

If he got a new deal elsewhere, Moses would get a finders fee, if he stays at the Tigers - nothing.

Read that on here, apparently AD said it on a post game radio interview.
He did, it was the Monday following the Titans game on SEN. He was very candid, said he hasn’t signed with Moses as a manager but if he did have to leave the Tigers he needed some help to look around whilst he focused on playing.
I’m not sure what resulted in the end regarding signing with the Tigers as lots can change week to week.
A flat fee for his time seems appropriate.

We're gonna have some tall timber in the engine room next season joining Sam Fanua.

Samuela Fainu - 194cms - 109kgs - 21 years young - 2nd row
Maverik Geyer - 191cms - 104kgs - 24 years young - 2nd row
Ethan Roberts - 195cms - 105kgs - 20 years young - 2nd row
Kai Pearce-Paul - 198cms - 108kgs - 24 years young - 2nd row
WT are at last seeing the errors of the past. And what works for other teams.
But our KOE team forwards are all "nuggets"....to quote others.

Said this all along, it was always easiest to point to finger at Moses. Its true that Benji and Moses don't get along, but Moses loves money more than he dislikes Benji. Godinet and Sukkar both re-signed this year along with Doueihi (even though Moses was just an advisor).

The Galvin release and pile on was always from the Galvin camp. From what i know, the Moses camp was not happy with the Galvin camp after all was said and done as Moses helped orchestrate the whole debacle to get him Parra. Galvins family and Vella were secretly working to get him to the Bulldogs for months.
Curious to see how much gets thrown at Bula from r360
