But.. Staines wasnt released, and Murray isnt top 30 for next year, so how would that free up anything for a middle? With Charlie Staines released, and Bird and Murray supposedly being shopped, maybe Richo and Benji have their sights on an NRL proven middle in the $500K- $650K range. Similar price to KPP. Would fill an obvious void and provide better balance to the roster.
why get rid of Saukuru ,But.. Staines wasnt released, and Murray isnt top 30 for next year, so how would that free up anything for a middle?
I've also heard nothing on Bird being shopped. The intention for Bird was never that he would be a consistent feature in our top 17. He's purely depth, is on depth $ and will be gone in 12 months anyway..
We have 2 spots for next year as is. And let's be real, Saukuru and Sullivan would be the first 2 we look to get rid of.
Because realistically he's not an NRL player for 2026 but he's taking up a Top 30 roster spotwhy get rid of Saukuru ,
the kid is in my magazine as being a try scorer.in Jersey FleggBecause realistically he's not an NRL player for 2026 but he's taking up a Top 30 roster spot
Its more about the $ than the roster spots. If we aren't paying Staines $300K-$400K and Bird (reportedly around $400K) for next year then we can afford a reasonable NRL seasoned middle. We are still trying to move on Bud to Souffs but his injury has complicated matters. Talk from the forum members that have been tracking Saukuru's form is that he should be given 2026 to see if he can make it. He is a big body with speed and is costing us minimal wage. I was hoping Bird could put together more consistent NRL games but unfortunately his body is letting him down. I'm sure the intent and the desire is still there but he can't physically cut the mustard anymore.But.. Saukuru has found his spot in the back row and will usurp Sukkar next year IMO and also offers utility value.Because realistically he's not an NRL player for 2026 but he's taking up a Top 30 roster spot
Offers utility values? He's shit in Flegg in the position he has played his whole life.Saukuru has found his spot in the back row and will usurp Sukkar next year IMO and also offers utility value.
I’d be getting rid of Kit or Sukkar before him.
I like Sakuru having watched him in Flegg but he is the same age as Sukkar and a year older then Kit and they have been playing regular nrl and nsw cup respectively while he has been in Flegg - not exactly much to say he should be kept over eitherSaukuru has found his spot in the back row and will usurp Sukkar next year IMO and also offers utility value.

Sakuru has a better combo of size, speed and power than Kit and Sukkar to have a better NRL career. If he can stay on his trajectory from this year.I like Sakuru having watched him in Flegg but he is the same age as Sukkar and a year older then Kit and they have been playing regular nrl and nsw cup respectively while he has been in Flegg - not exactly much to say he should be kept over either
Saukuru has arguably been the best player in Flegg this year. The results started turning around once he moved into the backrow. He’s been scoring and setting up tries for fun.Offers utility values? He's shit in Flegg in the position he has played his whole life.
He's getting some minutes as a second rower, but Sam Fainu, KPP, Seyfarth, Geyer, Roberts, Godinet & Sukkar are ahead of him.
He's more of a first grader than the Laulilii boys and Mason. He's going to be our Jersey flegg player of the yearBecause realistically he's not an NRL player for 2026 but he's taking up a Top 30 roster spot
Ok , you've obviously never seen the kid play, or had a kid that lost a spot because of him. For starters he's never played consistently in any position throughout his career. He started as a fullback and 5/8 that would dabble with a bit of prop. Then for the Magpies he'd play on the wing, and then moved towards the centres and has this year found his home in the back row.Offers utility values? He's shit in Flegg in the position he has played his whole life.

It's rugby league mad science but could Skelton make a 2RF he's big enough and when he comes in from the wing seems to run the channel that a second rower runs anyway.
Thanks for posting.with roosters beating bulldogs we now need:
Round 24
Broncos over dolphins
Tigers over manly
Round 25
Tigers over cowboys
Eels over roosters
Many over dolphins
Round 26
Tigers over raiders
Storm over roosters
Round 27
Wahs over manly
Rabbits over roosters
Tigers over titans
Raiders over dolphins
And with this we make the 8, very very slim chance but there’s still a chance
Hasn't got the stamina I don't think, at least not yet, to do the defence as well as the hitups in the backrow. It's rugby league mad science but could Skelton make a 2RF he's big enough and when he comes in from the wing seems to run the channel that a second rower runs anyway.

Roberts is developing nicely, my compadre who works in the rorters hierarchy was angry as a rattlesnake on a hot skillet they cut him loose.Yep on your own, we have made some real average signings lately! Was hoping for better.
Why do u think the rooters let Roberts go, cause he had a top 30 next season and he wasn’t good enough to fill it.
In attack yes, but he doesn’t strike me as someone who would have the defensive work ethic or resolve to play infield and make 30 plus tackles per game. It's rugby league mad science but could Skelton make a 2RF he's big enough and when he comes in from the wing seems to run the channel that a second rower runs anyway.
