Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

How does your player estimates compare to this CC?

I have taken out Sullivan & have 3 spots left with only about $250k left in salary cap and that's factoring in about $150k or the $300 max rebate for developed players.

Yes I've probably been generous with a few but just been going off media reports on their likely contract.

Luai 1,200,000
Koroisau 700,000
Bula 700,000
Terrell May 650,000
Taylan May 615,000
Pearce-Paul 550,000
Hunt 500,000
Latu Fainu 500,000
Samuela Fainu 500,000
Seyfarth 450,000
Turuva 450,000
Pole 450,000
Makasini 450,000
T'oa 420,000
Twal 400,000
Doueihi 400,000
Bird 400,000
Madden 250,000
Sione Fainu 230,000
Skelton 230,000
Geyer 200,000
Luke Laulilii 150,000
Saukuru 150,000
Kit Laulilii 150,000
Sukkar 150,000
Mason 150,000
Hope 150,000

MaK is 1 million over 3 years I think his first year would be on the lower end
Hunt was reported 400K
Geyer 150K saw somewhere
Turuva 400K St George was reported 450K took less to come play with API
Seyfarth took unders to stay was reported 400K

That's all I remember but it looks good but then you have TPA and Luai was reported 200K in his 1.2 million deal

So basically, we are all within a million of being correct 🤣

This comes from Hooper at the time.

“I have heard it averages at $500,000 per season over four years, so it is essentially $2 million each and a $4 million package deal,” Hooper said.

Meaning..1. He doesn't know for sure. 2. The deal probably ratchets up to higher numbers over the 4 years, meaning these early years are not 500k.

Makasini signed a 3 year deal for 1 million. That's where my numbers come from.
Do you honestly think Bula or Terrell May will extend with us unless we immediately upgrade them for 2026 ?

Have made some adjustments & a bit more research, I think somewhere in the middle of us ... $750-$850k is what we have left for 3 players.

That equates to 2 depth players on a close to minimum deal plus a 1st team quality player of approx $500k. But as you say could be more depending on if Bird departs.

I believe that equates to around 11.1mil.

This is fairly close but I think a couple are slightly off. Terrell is on 725k next year and Api has been upgraded.

One thing you’re forgetting is that some of the players salaries include third parties that don’t contribute to the cap. Add in those long serving player allowances etc. for example, jurnos etc always report Luais total salary as 1.2mil as that is what he’s getting paid, but only around 1mil is under the cap and the other 200k roughly is Third Parties.

When I did it I got around 1.1mil incorporating Third Party (I believe it’s around 500k for our club) and player allowances.

Did you factor in whether we front ended any contracts this year?
I assume that's something Richo would be doing if we had excess cap space.. he wouldn't waste the opportunity

Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. They'll keep a good chunk for the right player to pop up and if that doesn't happen, they'll upgrade someone and front load.

Another variable that only those inside the walls of Concord would know is when a player has been frontloaded with their contract. I assume there is a reason we have released some players and then upgraded minimum wage contracts mid year to bring our squad to 30. Surely there has been a bit of rejigging players contracts to help us build a more competitive roster and free some space in the coming years.

The NRL should just f**** make NRL salaries public like in the US (just the club component, not 3rd party). Make life for us a lot easier lol
