Most 3rd party deals are a crock of shit arranged by the club. They're not businesses genuinely hoping giving an athlete money will get them a marketing coupWhy wouldn't they? A good club means they can enjoy their footy every week. What is the lifestyle difference between say 900K and 750K? If your lifestyle isn't changing wouldn't you want to take the option where you are enjoying your footy?
Add that potential additional football earnings increase being at a good club I.e. rep selection more likely and thus rep payments. As well as future earnings more likely if they are a premiership winner and rep player. Taking less in many cases is probably the better financial play.
I'd suggest it is foolish to think they wouldn't take less to play at a stronger club.
Alternatively, Everyone on here will tell you the answer is no they get TPAs, brown paper bags or shares in a pub or some other shit. And I'm not for a second going to say that doesn't ever happen but I'd guess it happens far less than it is suggested.
Very few 3rd parties are heavily investing in rugby league players. Why would they? What is their return on investment?
