LIVE GAME Round 5 versus Eels

Live Game Discussion
these are the games we find ways to lose. Well done to the boys. The sin bin was right in front of me and there’s no way that’s anywhere near a sin bin. They were offside all game and slowed the ruck and the ref let them be. Moses what an absolute disgrace you are , ref no handle at all to put up with his rubbish. Luke is a liability and should not be in first grade . Can’t defend if his life depended on it .

I'd agree with all this. But there was other calls or probably non calls that went our way. I think the Williams lost ball. The ref was right he hadn't called held, but he should have. I thought KPP stripped a ball that was called lost and we scored from that possession. Tavana clearly knocked on, called back and play on lateish in the game. Possession to Eels there potentially would have given them the win. That's just off the top of my head. Sure Eels had a few their way as well, including the most defining one. Just thought we had more favourable decisions then they did.
A very fair and accurate assessment.

The boys played hard, fast paced footy but admittedly were way short of their best, had 2 tries scored against them when down to 12 on the ground, fell behind on the scoreboard and still managed to fight for a win.

We haven't seen this in ages, Parra threw heaps at our boys and they were really up for this game yet our boys hang in there.

It wasn't like they were playing a second rate outfit, so being critical of the boys that for game would be a tad harsh IMHO.

Don't find excuses or come up with criticisms boys & girls.....let's be just be happy with a gutsy win & have a big Wests Tigers ❤️love in❤️, we haven't had one in a very long time
And they did it after backing up from a huge game across the ditch v the Wahs.

They wouldn't have done that in previous seasons, they kept backing one another this game despite being under the pump.

It’s a funny game, if we had lost today, people would be blowing up how poor we were and we could not even beat an under strength Eels outfit. Now after a win most people are very positive about the effort.

The way I see it, the NRL is such a hard long season you are going to get a couple of games like today and good teams find a way to win them. In the past we would have been no chance, but this team has resilience. For now it’s one week at a time and develop combinations and learn from your mistakes

The carry on after the fact with push and shove with a man clearly very injured certainly didn’t help.
Someone should have pulled Luke in much earlier.

But I think it was the Eels players having a go at him like he some how intended for that to happen. You see those sort of plays all the time, it just ended in an unfortunate way this time.

That decision made the game what it was, otherwise it was in the bag. Could have been costly, and just because we won I don't want us to just take that rubbish.

Sounds like Benji agrees it shouldn't have a been a binning.

Offside by a country mile, should stick to his last name more and be a walker
(Video not working but it’s 4:36 in to see it)

I was at the game and from what I saw live was a great tigers fight back in the first half to go up by 2 at the break.

2nd half we looked like we were rolling them with ease until the send off which to be fair was warranted although just bad luck to the way the eels player landed, if he wasn't injured on the play then it's play on maybe eels 6 again.

We leaked 2 tries and a penalty at the end which was moses being moses, to end the game like that was just not a true indicator of the game.

Lucky the boys fought hard went down their end and earnt a penalty, maybe even softer than Moses milking it.

No matter who you barrack for it's a shame the game can come down to shit calls either way.

Ref has too much control these days
The send off/ sin bin was not warranted. It's a penalty every day of the week, nothing else. Whether Simmonson was injured or not is irrelevant. It completely changed the game and probably robbed us of a chance to win convincingly. It's these sort of inconsistent/ corrupt decisions that are a blight on the game and often seem to hound the Tigers.

I never understand the argument that injury shouldn't come into it. Of course it should. If a player is injured by someone doing an illegal action then that has to be taken into account. Luke tackling him in the air was yet another brain-dead decision by him and it nearly cost us the game. If he waits until he lands on the ground he doesn't dislocate his ankle. Yes its unfortunate such a minor illegal action results in 10 in the bin, but it was illegal and it dislocated an ankle. Its the reason they have the rule.

To those who say the same thing happens every week and is just a penalty I say.....if I punch you in the face, im charged with assault....if I punch you in the face and you die, im charged with murder or manslaughter....the exact same action but very different outcomes.

Bottom line is, dont do a stupid play to allow the officials to make that decision.

knew he was gonna get sent off as soon as it happened
didnt think it deserved it though i mean if there was no injury play on
people on discord was saying it was a profession foul and he was trying to stop him from scoring i think it was just instinct
Of course it was and that's why he got upset. As I've already said, it's a penalty. Nothing more. Bad luck Simmonson was injured. Is every tackle in the air a sin bin now? Were the clubs told this? Klein changed the rule like he did with that soft whistle, escort penalty in the Cowboys game years back. Klein is a serial cheat. How he's been rated top ref is totally beyond me. End of rant.
